Lightly sleeping, Brooklyn tossed and turned in an effort to receive complete comfort, dragging sheets and throwing pillows she heard a sudden smash of the rear facing kitchen window. Silently sitting up, her heart beats outside of her chest, had she heard the window smash? Or was she imagining it? Thousands of thoughts crossed her mind, rapidly contemplating what to do. Moments passed, realising she was alone she slowly reached across her bed, grabbing her phone from the bedside table to call Eli. As the phone rang, she wondered. Would he answer so late? What would happen if he didn't? Footsteps loudly echoed along the walls of the house terrifying her. Eli answered, Brooklyn frozen with fear stares at the open doorway refusing to answer his questions. Suddenly, a huge burst of energy revives Brooklyn from her state of terror, she quickly messages Eli. The text reads, 'HELP! Someone's in my house! I don't know what to do.' Eli's voice echoed through the speakers of her phone. Scared they might hear her phone-call, she quietly climbed out of bed hoping to close the door, which could possibly be the separation between her and a burglar. Staggering towards the door, her eyes widened as a huge shadow approached her room. Swiftly, she slams her bedroom door pressing all her weight against it. Listening, silence lurked... Unexpectedly, the door crashes open flinging her to the floor, Eli's screams of fear ricocheted around the room. The unmasked face of the intruder glistened in the moonlight as if coated with a thin layer of sweat, his eyes darker than black holes, terrified Brooklyn. The figure fiercely lunged at her, grabbing her hair with ginormous fists, dragging her around as if she was a doll in the hands of a small child, tiny screams left her mouth as her head shook from left to right. Rapidly she waved her hands, hoping to release her hair from his grasp as if in need to catch the attention of another. After a few seconds, Brooklyn noticed a large glass cup a few inches away from her, she pulled vigorously towards it until her fingers could touch it. Courageously, she grabbed the cup, thrusting it into his face multiple times until it smashed. Noisily he fell to the floor, hitting his head on the wooden floorboards which lined the entire room. Stubbornly, she hesitated.
