Hey all! :D
Wow, it's been a long time since I've uploaded anything! Since I've got some free time on my hands, I've decided to not only finish this story, but hopefully to have an idea for a Christmas themed FanFiction! I currently have an idea for a Regular Show styled Christmas, however, I'm trying to come up with an idea for a cross over Christmas special, since I don't really want to be exclusive to Regular Show, and I already have an idea for another regular... Regular show themed FanFiction. xD
Anywho, here is the third chapter in this story. Expect about two more chapters for this story before it's concluded.
Enjoy! ^_^
Thomas laid on the floor of the shack in the game. When he opened his eyes, he saw Mordecai looking down at him. He was covered in black and brown clothing with a knife holster on his left side and a medium sized pouch on the right.
"Hey Thomas, you okay?" Mordecai said.
"Uhh... Yeah I think so." Thomas said.
"Well I hope you're well enough to stand, cause you're kinda laying on muscle man."
"What?" Thomas asked.
"Get off me dude!" Muscle Man said.
Muscle Man pushed Thomas to the side and both of them stood up.
"What happened? And why am I in this get up?" Thomas asked.
"Isn't it obvious, stupid?" Muscle Man said with his arms crossed."
Mordecai walked over to the front door of the shack.
"Thomas, welcome to Mythic Quest."
Mordecai opened the door to reveal the fantasy town they were in. Thomas walked out of the door with a surprised expression on his face.
"This… is… awesome!" Thomas said. "A board game that you can actually experience!"
"I know, pretty cool right?" Rigby said.
"Yeah! I can't wait to go adventuring with you guys!"
"Well, before we can do that," Mordecai said. "You'll have to practice your skills in combat to get a feel for your class."
"Alright, where should we go?" Thomas said.
The four of them led Thomas to a small camp with goblins armed with spears, brown leather caps, and black torn up pants.
"Where are we?" Thomas asked.
"We're at a Grim'lorg camp." High Five Ghost said.
"Or as I like to call it, Noob Central, population you!"
Muscle Man laughed and high-fived Fives.
"What are they?" Thomas asked.
"They're an evil race of goblins." Mordecai said. "These ones are the weakest kind of Grim'Log. They shouldn't be much of a challenge for you. Just go in and fight one."
"Alright! I'll give it my best shot! Come at be goblin!"
Thomas charged at a lone goblin while yelling a battle cry. The goblin noticed Thomas, growled, and got into a battle stance. Once Thomas got close enough, the goblin started thrusting his spear, while Thomas awkwardly dodged his attacks.
"Umm guys?" Thomas said timidly. "How am I supposed to fight this thing?"
"Your class carries a knife on your side!" Mordecai yelled from afar.
Thomas looked on his right side then quickly alternated to his left, and took out his knife.
"Alright! Now we're talking!" Thomas said.
Thomas started thrusting and waved his knife in random directions. The goblin just stood there with an unimpressed expression on his face.
"Danjankis…" The goblin said, which translated to 'Idiot'.
The goblin swung his spear across Thomas's face, making a long scratch along his left cheek, and making him fall to the ground.
"Owe… that hurt…" Thomas said while covering his injury.
"Wow." Muscle Man said. "Not even we got owned that bad when we first started the game.
"Looks like we better tell him to use his special item." Rigby said.
"Good call." Mordecai said. "Hey Thomas! Look inside your pouch!"
"My what?!" Thomas said while rolling over to dodge the goblin's downward stab.
"Your pouch! On your right side!"
Thomas quickly got up and looked inside his pouch. He pulled out a corked glass vial with green liquid inside it. On it had a skull and bones symbol.
"This is just what I need! Thanks guys!"
Thomas uncorked the bottle and began to drink the green liquid. After seconds have passed he fell to the floor, groaning. The goblin looked down at Thomas with the same unimpressed look. Mordecai and co. walked over towards the two. The goblin began speaking in his native tongue.
"Is this guy with you?" The goblin said.
"Yes, yes he is." Rigby said in the goblin language.
"I feel sorry for you." The goblin replied.
Muscle Man also said something to the goblin which translated to "Watermelons come out my butt."
The goblin said nothing and walked back to the camp.
"Dude," Rigby said while facing Muscle Man. "you gotta work on your Grim'Logian."
"What did I say?" Muscle Man."
"Guys!" Mordecai said. "Help me carry Thomas to the Church!"
The four of them picked up Thomas and rushed over to the town's church. At the end of the church was a rectangular flat stone which the four of them laid Thomas on. One of the churches priestess approached them.
"Hello, children of the Great One." The priestess said. "How may he aid you today?"
"Our friend here got poisoned pretty badly. I hope it's not too late to heal him." Mordecai said.
The priestess looked at Thomas, then laid her hand where his heart is.
"His heart is faint, but I'll be able to fully heal him. He looks like a recuit. May I ask why he was fighting the Lap'Ragadongas?"
"He wasn't." Rigby said. "He was fighting one of the weaker goblins, reached into his pouch, and mistook poison for a healing potion."
The priestess said nothing. After a brief moment, she began to laugh hysterically.
"Man! I've healed some noobs here and there, but this guy takes the cake!" She said.
"Would you just heal him already?!" Mordecai said.
"Sure, sure, wait outside." The priestess said while laughing.
The four of them walked towards the churches front door. Mordecai looked behind his shoulder and saw the priestess using holy magic on Thomas, but abruptly stopped, wrapped her arms around her stomach and fell on the floor laughing. Mordecai developed a stern look, look forward, and walked outside the church and sat on the steps of the church along with the three others.
"Jeez, that priestess needs to have her laugh removed or something." Mordecai said.
"Though she found that a little too funny," Rigby said, "she had good reason too. That fight was pathetic, dude!"
"I could barely stand watching that display of epic fail!" Fives said.
"I told you it was a bad idea to invite him to play with us in the first place!" Muscle Man said.
Meanwhile inside the church, the Priestess was helping Thomas walk towards the door. Thomas gently shoved the priestess arm aside.
"Thanks a lot for your help. I think I can walk on my own now." Thomas said.
"Glad to be of help." The Priestess said. "May The Great One watch over you always… and hope you don't get poisoned!" the priestess said laughing.
Thomas developed an angry look on his face and as the priestess turned around, Thomas extended her leg and made her trip to the floor, however, she continued to laugh. Thomas sighed and walked towards the church doors. He opened it slightly, but paused to overhear their conversation.
"Seriously man, dealing with a noob isn't worth it!" Muscle Man said.
"Dude! The Orb of Desire is worth it!" Mordecai said. "Don't you guys want a wish? Anything you want?"
Everybody bickered in agreement.
"We need a rogue to get it, which means Thomas is our ticket into the dungeon. Besides, after we get it, we can just say we're bored of the game or something."
"I guess." Muscle Man said.
Thomas developed a depressed look on his face.
"They only wanted me to play just so they could get some stupid orb?" Thomas said to himself. "And they were just going to kick me out of the game after they've gotten it! Those jerks!"
Mordecai opened the church door, accidentally hitting Thomas in the face.
"Oh! Sorry Thomas! You okay?" Mordecai said.
"Yeah I'm fine." Thomas said while rubbing his face. "I just wish you didn't hit the scar."
"Haha… yeah." Mordecai said. "The scar makes you look cool though."
"Thanks, I guess."
"Anywho, we're going back out to train you some more with stuff that's more suited to your class. You well enough to go do that?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Let's go."
Mordecai and Thomas joined up with the others and travelled elsewhere.
