After this, I've only got one more chapter planned; I wouldn't really know how to continue now that I've got them together and they've started working out their issues, and I don't want to stretch it out just to get a few more chapters in. Anyway, I hope the last two chapters will be to your liking, the last one will be posted later this week.

Enjoy this chapter, and please review !

Chapter 22: The Future

As they made their way back to his ship, Emma noticed a change in his demeanour. He seemed more comfortable around her; he didn't need to resort to flirtatious remarks and somewhat distasteful jokes anymore to keep his feelings underneath the surface. She loved that he was being so open with her, it felt as though she could be completely open with him as well.

He held out his hand for her as she climbed down the steps onto the deck of the ship. As soon as her feet touched the wooden planks beneath her, he grabbed her waist and led her below deck towards the captain's quarters. It always excited her when he became so silent yet demanding; it was because of the pirate in him and it was a part of him that she loved. Taking her by surprise, he pushed her up against the wall next to the door of the captains quarters, and he lifted her up, indicating that she was to wrap her legs around his waist. She happily obliged, taking advantage of any excuse to get closer to him.

"Killian, you know I can't stay tonight. I've got Henry coming over to the loft later."

"What are you talking about, Emma, love? I've got you all to myself tonight."

Confused, Emma allowed her thoughts to become muddled as he placed light kisses along her jawline and down her neck to her collar bone.

"What –What? But, I," she let out a sigh as he nipped lightly at the skin on her neck, "I don't have any of my stuff here."

Killian sighed, lightly kissing the crook of her neck once more before meeting her eyes with his.

"I wouldn't exactly call that a pressing issue Emma, even if it was one. We moved half of your possessions in here months ago, my love, how could you not remember?"

"I – oh right, of course." Emma said, still feeling slightly dazed.

"No worries, Swan, I'm well aware of the effect I have on you when we stand so close to each other."

He slowly brought his face closer to hers then, and her pulse quickened as she could feel his breath against her cheek. He finally placed his lips against hers, slowly adding more pressure. She revelled in the time he was taking in the kiss, massaging her lips steadily with his. His teeth nipped her lower lip, and as she allowed his tongue access to her own she tangled her fingers in his hair to bring his lips even harder against hers. They stood like that for a while, Killian pressing Emma up against the wall, kissing her continuously as the boat rocked on the waves beneath their feet. Finally coming up for air, he placed his cheek against hers, the only sound on the ship their heavy breathing and the creaking of the wood.

"So, pirate, you've got me all to yourself tonight, have you?" Emma said, grinning deviously at him.

"Why yes, my lady, would you care to join me in the Captain's Quarters?"

"Nothing would please me more, captain." Emma said, imitating his flirtatious tone of voice.

He lifted her up off the wall then, her legs still wrapped around his strong torso as he opened the door and led her into the room. She could feel his muscles contracting and expanding beneath his leather vest and jacket and she could feel her pulse quicken again as she realized what was to come. It wasn't their first time doing this, but every time made her feel as nervous and alive as it had their first night together.

He gently placed her on the bed, and climbed over her to straddle his legs around her hips. Her blonde hair fanned over his pillows, and a small smile tugged at his lips as he once again realized that he had really done it. He had truly ended up with Emma Swan, and she was the love of his life. He bent down towards her again, nuzzling his nose against her collar bone and trailing his lips all the way back up to hers. He kissed her again, a bit rougher this time; feeling her body against his was obviously making him edgy. She kissed him back with the same amount of passion, and she moaned slightly as his hand and his hook started roaming her body.

She pulled away, slightly breathless, and pushed him off her gently as she rested her body weight upon her elbows.

"I'm so glad that we were finally able to admit to each other how we felt." Emma heard him laugh lightly above her, and she met his eyes with a determined gaze.

"What's so funny?" She asked imploringly.

"Well, darling, as happy as I am as well that we were finally able to admit to each other how we felt; it's been a few years now, my swan."

"Excuse me?" Killian, this happened a few weeks ago." Emma said, confusion evident on her features.

"No love, this happened something more like two years ago." She could see the worry in his eyes, and shook her head. She could feel the truth in his words, she could see the earnesty in his gaze, but her head was telling her that it wasn't true. How could it be?

"You – you're right. I'm sorry, I don't know where my head is at." Emma said, trying to shake the fog from her mind.

"Perhaps that is because of my close proximity to you. Can't think straight when I'm near to you like this, can you, Swan?"

Emma woke with a start, but immediately felt comforted when she felt Killian's arm wrapped around her waist. She turned to face him under his arm, trying not to wake him up. She was surprised when she already found him with his eyes open, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as she closed her eyes against the sunlight streaming in through the small round window in his quarters.

"What are you smiling at, pirate?" She teased, her own smile mirroring his.

"You. You were whispering in your sleep."

"Oh." She said, her sentence cut short when Killian puller her closer to his own form.

"I'm glad we talked yesterday." He said, pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear when it threatened to fall into her eye.

"That was only yesterday?" She asked, yawning in her still sleepy state.

"Yes, love. That was yesterday. How deeply did you sleep?"

"Very, apparently." She responded, pulling herself even closer to his body than he had done before.

"What were you dreaming about that had you so vocal in your sleep? Was it perhaps a devillishly handsome pirate roaming through your mind?"

"Shut up." She said, trying to turn away from him; but her defensive stature has already tipped him off that she had indeed been dreaming about him. Before she could turn her self around, he grabbed her by the waist, making her yelp out in surprise and turned her around to face him, pressing his entire body flush against hers. She could feel the heat rising to her cheeks when she realized that she could feel every muscle of his contracting against her as she thought back to her dream. Hook noticed the blush creeping into her face and immediately pounced to know more information.

"Well? Did the dream start something like this?" He asked, immediately pulling her in for a long and tender kiss. She could feel the butterflies in her stomach and it took all her willpower to pull herself away from him.

"A little." Emma said.

He grinned wickedly at her then, intent on continuing to reinact her dream, but she stopped him.

"Do you really want to know what was in my dream?"

"I truly do." He said, but she wasn't entirely sure he meant it. His eyes were still slightly clouded from their previous kiss.

"I think it was us, but two years from now. And yes, very much in the same position. Except I had basically moved in here, and it seemed not to be a problem with anyone in my family."

"Still together two years from now, aye?" He asked, and Emma frowned.

"What, are you going to tell me that you're not in it for the long haul?"

"Quite the contrary, love. I was rather hoping we'd make it many a year longer than just two."

"Oh." She said again, at a loss for words. He brought her clasped hands up to his lips and placed a light kiss on each of her knuckles.

"I don't know what it is you think I'm doing here, Emma, but it certainly isn't in my plan to run away from you any time soon. Preferably never."

"Well, that's… comforting."

"Aye, Swan. It is indeed."

She locked her gaze with his and could see the dust particles floating in the sunlight streaming through the window. It seemed that her dreaming had taken quite a toll on her actual rest, and as she felt the warmth of the sun on her skin and the warmth of Killian's body against hers she let her eyes fall shut once more, content just where she was.

I know this chapter is a bit shorter than the last few I posted, and I apologize for that, but I hope you enjoyed it either way. Thank you for reading, and don't hesitate to review!
