I do not own anything except the storyline

I groaned when I awoke from my slumber. The prior events from Princess Kagome's coronation in a rush of flashes. What did that girl do to bewitch me? All I remember is her spellbinding voice. My father interrupted my thoughts.

"Sesshomaru, do you know how much damage you caused last night? You will apologize to Princess Kagome and her family. They have graciously accepted us into their home and you repay them by nearly destroying their home by releasing you beast!"

"I will not apologize for my actions. What Princess Kagome did would be seen as a sign of disrespect if she were a Lycan."

"That is the point Sesshomaru, Kagome is not a Lycan! She does not know of our ways and customs. That is your position to teach her, but all you have done is avoid her since we got here."

"That is why I need a Lycan mate. I do not have the time or the patience to teach another of our ways. I have a duty to lead my pack."

"It is not your pack until I see that you are fit to lead them!"

My father and I continued our silent dominance battle until I submitted.

"The reason of coming here was to show Princess Kagome and her coven that we are not the beast that our ancestors were. We came to bring peace to our pack, Sesshomaru and it seems as though you are trying to start a war. Princess Kagome is stronger than any Lycan female you would've mated to. Or did you want to actually mate Kagura?"

I grimaced when my father spoke of that girl. Kagura was the daughter of a lord who became obsessed of me after I briefly courted her until I found out she was a whore with a power hungry agenda. Kagura would have been a decent choice in a mate if not for her other undesirable faults.

"You want me to deny my true nature just to get Vampyres to accept us? My has the mighty Inu Taisho fallen to such human emotions? I will not be as weak as you."

My father's claws came down against my face before I even had a chance to stop him. I felt my beast struggling to remove the threat.

"Refrain from hitting my person or the next time I will not hold back."

My father left the room after my threat and I was left in my room to dress for the morning meal. As I entered the dining room, I noticed that Princess Kagome had yet to join her family for morning meal. I sat between my father and Rin. As Princess Kagome entered, I could not help but notice as her hair flowed around her in loose waves and her eyes captured mine until she sat across from me at the table. My father's elbow found my ribs and I knew I must apologize to Princess Kagome's family. I will give him an apology.

As I stood, I could feel my everyone's eyes watching me.

"I must apologize to you all for my atrocious behavior last night."

I paused and continued.

"Although I was merely reacting to your un-lady like actions, Princess Kagome. I had no right to lose control as I did."

I sat down, pleased with my apology until Princess Kagome started screeching. I looked to my father, who glared at me. After my apology, this girl thought she was superior to me by questioning my authority.

"Superior? From your actions today, I see no superiority in you. I will respect you as an alpha, once you act like one!"

How dare she? Question my authority as her alpha and superior? I would rather ring this girl by her neck. As she walked away from the morning meal my father followed her. I retired to my quarters only to hear someone knocking moments later. I knew it was Rin.

"Lord Sesshomaru, why are you being so mean to Princess Kagome?"

I looked in surprise at Rin.

"I like Princess Kagome and she is nice to Rin. She would be a good mommy to Rin."

"Do you think I am being cruel to Princess Kagome, Rin?'

Rin shook her head.

"But Lord Sesshomaru is not being nice and made Princess Kagome cry."

"What do you suppose I do Rin?"

Rin thought about it for a moment.

"Rin thinks you should give Princess Kagome the blue flowers!"

My mother's blue roses are the rarest flowers in my kingdom. She was the only one who knew how to grow them until she taught me before she died. I remember as a pup giving one to Princess Kagome at my father's request.

"Hn."

Rin studied me in silence.

"Rin, you may go. I will give Princess Kagome the blue flower."

"Yay! Now Princess Kagome will be happy and she will love Lord Sesshomaru forever and ever."

I did not see Princess Kagome since the morning meal and I felt it best to not attend the evening meal. I left back to my kingdom to get my mother's roses for Princess Kagome. When I returned, all was asleep and I carefully flew Princess Kagome's balcony. I placed the rose on the table there next to a book. The book had no writing on the outside of it, but inside were the secrets of Princess Kagome.

'I fear that I am not up to Prince Sesshomaru's standards. I cannot help, but feel inadequate. I remember meeting him for the first time when I was a little girl, he was very handsome and time has made his beauty ethereal. Is it that I am not a Lycan? Or is it that I am just not beautiful enough? Inu Taisho has told me today that he believes I can bring love back into Sesshomaru's heart and I hope for Kami's sake he is right.'
