Sure enough, the next day David stood under the rainy sky outside the alley, the umbrella finally coming to good use. Death supposed the rain was symbolic, but she thought it was too cliche. David just glared at the sky, waiting for her to get ready. Adorable Death sighed and followed him without a word. She noticed he walked with a limp, but didn't dare to ask. There was no question that Crazy 8 was mad.
When she got to the warehouse, David immediately disappeared. The room was dark and Death could tell that the room had been cleared out. Somewhere she could hear rustling, proof that at least Boner Cat was there, which meant Crazy 8 was there. Her gold crown glinted at the far end of the room, where Adorable Death assumed she was supposed to walk to.
"Hiiiiii Adorable Deeeeaaaath." Crazy 8 drawled out. "How was your night? Pretty… interesting?"
"Actually, it was so boring I actually read a newspaper from the alley." Death replied. "Did you know that they used to have horse police? Horse. Police." She knew her rambling would get her nowhere, but hey. If you go, you go out with a bang.
"Cut the crap, Death." Crazy 8's tone changed quickly. "You don't think we watch you? Especially this close after you waking up. I /knew/ you would betray us. I can't believe I didn't just kill you off!"
"So why didn't you?" Death yelled. "Why am I not dead?" Her head was spinning faster than a wind-up toy. None of this made sense. She just wanted to go back home.
"David convinced me to leave you." Crazy 8 smiled. "After all, what would poor Boom Monkey do without her big sister? Oh, your family would just fall apart, wouldn't it."
"They're strong." Death retorted. "They can't depend on just me. That's stupid."
"Is it, dear Death? You must not be aware of how much they love you."
"Shut up!" Adorable Death yelled. "Shut up! You act like they're not important!"
"They're not." Crazy 8's tone changed. "Not to me. They may be your siblings, love, but I needed your skills far more than their's."
"Where are they." Death growled. Crazy 8 smiled and let her head fall back. "WHERE ARE THEY?"
"Death, please." David appeared next to her, restraining her from lunging at Crazy 8. "Let's go."
Adorable Death shook him off, but turned and left with him trailing behind. Crazy 8 started laughed and Death wished she would just shut up.
"So." David leaned against the otuside of the warehouse. "What now."
"I'm gonna look for Fanboy and Boom Monkey." Adorable Death growled as she stomped off in the rain. "Then I'm gonna kill that bitch."
"Woooaaaahh, slow down." David jumped up. "Crazy 8 is crazy, but there's a ton of consequences there."
"David, she fucking hurt you because of me. Now my siblings are missing because she's mad! I don't know what you're thinking, but that's considered abuse! I'd rather we be out on the streets than live with her."
"She houses a lot of runaways and orphans. She collapses, there will be hundreds out on the street, not just you! Besides that, she's just one of an entire ring of gangs! There will be people after us."
Death stopped and stared at the ground. David continued. "Don't just think of yourself, think of everyone. You're being extremely selfish!"
"I'm being selfish?!" Death whipped around. "I don't want to die. I don't want others to die because of me. You want to stay out of this, fine. But don't stop me from getting my family back. And don't stop me from my revenge."
Adorable Death stormed off into the rain, leaving David outside the warehouse. With his damn umbrella.
