Hybrids, Plans, and Explosives

Hey guys as promised things are gonna go down. Let's get started!

Karen/Darcy's POV

xX Jerry's Tree Outer Area Xx

For a couple of weeks, we have been stationed at Jerry's Tree. There were no signs of the squids anywhere, well that was until we got a message...

Flashback.

"Hey... base... is... sh** ... Hey! Ge.. ay. Argh!-"

"That doesn't sound good." Bajan said.

"But that's my cue to check out his last position." I said.

"I'm coming with you," Sky said.

"No," Darcy said, "They would want you to come. We'll take Jane and Athena with us and a couple stacks of the antidote."

"Sky please," Athena said, "It's for the best."

"All right," Sky said, "Jason, what are the coordinates?"

That lead us here. We faced a cliff face about as tall as Jerry's Tree. For a while, we try to find some sort of cave or entrance, but we found nothing.

"This is weird," Jane said, "Even for squids."

"Yeah," Athena said, "No water ways, no obvious caves, heck not even a door."

Darcy sighed, "You do realize we could bend some sort of door."

"Tried that." I reminded her.

"What about your picks?" She asked.

"Oh, right," I said, "Well, I've been really absent-minded."

I take my pickaxe. Despite everything that has happened, I'm surprised I still have it.

"Looks like you're the only one with one," Jane said.

"Naturally." I said. I proceed to hit the cliff face, but it just phases through. We take a glance at each other and then I bring my hand to touch the cliff face, but it went through and met nothing.

"A hologram?" I said.

"Looks like it." Jane said, "They probably stole a Sethbling prototype or something."

"I found the projector!" Darcy yelled.

It was high up in a tree, it was very suspiciously well hidden.

"This is not normal," I said, "Even Leader can't teach them that fast."

"Israphel, Herobrine?" Darcy suggested.

"Not even their level of technology." I said. "Herobrine won't do this anyway."

"Whatever," Athena said, "Let's just destroy the thing and find out what behind it. We can discuss it with the others later.

We agreed. I scale the tree and stab the device with my knife. I put the device in the bag, maybe someone knew who would invent this thing.

The 'cliff' faded away to reveal a large cavern that housed a lake. Close to the lake, we find what must of been the missing recruit's communication equipment.

"The recruit must of stumbled in." Jane said. "The projector screwed with the equipment's radio waves, which would explain the static and then the squids got him."

"Well time to check this out." I said.

"Wait," Jane said, "We don't have equipment."

I raise my wand, "That I can handle, besides, I don't really need that stuff any way."

After I cast the charms on them, I sent Darcy back to Jerry's Tree to inform them about this area. Soon we dive in and some how we managed to make an telekenic link with each other.

"You guys here me?" I said.

"Yup," Athena said.

"Yes," Jane said, "but how are you managing this?"

"I have no idea." I replied.

We started to explore. Despite being underwater, various redstone contraptions and computers were set along the side in a couple halls. The same redstone torches that I had seen at their other base, lit the walls of this one and it gave a really creepy atmostphere.

"Where are all the guards?" Jane said.

"There is no way they could be attacking, right now" Athena said, "Right?"

"I don't know," I said, "but they might be..."

This was getting a little scary, who is this guy helping them? Another question is where are the squids?

But that's question is answered when to squid guards come from a corridor on our right. It became on of those cartoony moments where the good guys somehow meet some random security guys and they just stare at each other for like a few seconds.

They didn't attack, but we didn't either, though I did grip on the hilt of my sword, but then they started swimming back in the other direction.

"Oh goodness how did they find this place?" One of them exclaimed.

"I don't know Halt, let's go." The other said.

"Karen, what did they say?" Athena asked.

"Not important, but let's go after them." I said. I drew my sword and we went after them. Halt and the other squid went into the door labeled 'Prison hold/Weaponry'. Seriously.

"How did we miss this?" Athena asked. But we go inside anyway. There were only two cells, both filled with recruits and other people.

"Oh thank Notch you found us." One of them said.

"Are you guys alright?" I asked.

"Yeah," Another said, "but some of were taken and exprimented on."

"Huh," Athena said, "What for?"

But as if on cue, a squid guard said, "This is a test of loyalty, attack the humans."

We turn around and see five recruits, half-mutated into squid hybrids. As they slowly swam their way towards us, we take out several spring loaded vials, filled with the antidote that Seto, Rythian and Zoey made. I knew from first hand experience that it worked, but now was its ultimate test.

They suddenly jet toward us, as they raised the weapons that they had in their hands. I take out my sword, knowing it was 5 to 1, since Athena and Jane are not used to fighting under these conditions. I, somehow, manage to block the incoming strikes.

To my surprise, Athena and Jane got on the backs of two of them as they started to circle around me. They jam the needles in the space between the neck and their shoulder blade. I do the same as the remaining three fought me.

When we defeated them, the squid guard was gone, but I quickly cast charms on the five as they started to turn back to normal.

"It's a good thing that worked." Jane said, "I don't know if I can handle killing more people like this."

I break the locks on the two cells and we go into another room filled with explosives and their weaponry. To my surprise, there were battle plans here as well as explosives. I shove the plans in my pack, and show the explosives to the others.

"Let's blow up this place." I said. They all agreed.

In an hour, we rig up the explosives and cure more people. We all head up to the entrance, where I tell them to go ahead, so that I could set it off.

As soon as I set it off, I jettison to the cave mouth, where I find Darcy telling the others something that we feared, "They're attacking."
