Duncan's POV

I wake up to feel Courtney moving under me. I look down and see her sleeping face. Her face looked so peaceful, but the rest of her body was moving this way and that.

I was thinking of waking her up when he eyelids fluttered open.

"What time is it?" she asked lazily.

"Ummm..." I mumble, looking over at the clock. "It's 6:30."

"We have to get up." she says, even though she has already cuddled back up into my chest and was drifting to sleep.

"Yeah..." I sigh. I lightly shake her and she gives out a low moan. I smirk and say, "If you keep moaning like that your parents will barge right in here."

That sure woke her up. She bolted from the bed and slapped my arm really hard.

"Ow!" I exclaim.

"Serves you right!" she yells/whispers while she barges to the bathroom.

Today was going to be a long day...

*At School*

I walk through the doors with one arm around Courtney's shoulders. Durning the car ride I convinced her to stop ignoring me. She had her head stuffed in a book while somehow not bumping into anyone.

I spot Geoff and Bridgette and guide Courtney over to them.

"Hey, Court!" Bridgette greets, but Courtney's eyes don't flicker away from the page. "Court?" She asks, waving her hands over her eyes. "Court?"

"What?" Courtney finally anwsers.

"I was just trying to be nice..." Bridge defends herself.

"What are you reading, dudette?" Geoff asks, trying to lift up the book to see the cover. But Courtney slaps his hand away.

"If you must know, I'm reading The Hunger Games." she states.

"Didn't you already read that book fifty times?" I ask, giving her a sideways look.

"Yes, but I'm doing a report about it in my history class."

"What kind of report are you doing?" Geoff asks yet again, I could tell we were getting on her nerves. But she still anwsered all our questions.

"My report is about the future. We have to pick one futureistic world that we would live in and one world that we wouldn't live in. I'm thinking about putting Hunger Games in it."

"In which category?"I ask, taking my arm off from around her shoulders and leaning against a locker grabbing her free hand.

"Don't know yet." she replies.

"But why would you want to live in the Hunger Games? You could get killed!" Bridgette exclaims.

"Please, I could win it!" Courtney says. Scary thing is was that she could. I think of Court running through woods and attacking people. I would be lying if I said it didn't turn me on.

"Shouldn't you be look at college books?"

"Why? I already know which college I'm going to. I will be going to Stanford." Courtney said so simply.

"Well me and Geoff are going to a community college nearby, we want to be with each other." Bridgette smiles as she grabs Geoffs hand.

"We also want to party!" he explains.

"Which college are you going to Duncan?" Bridgette asks me. I felt as if everyones heads had turn to look at me and mock me.

Truth is I haven't been thinking about colleges. I was repulsed by the thought. The future was coming by so fast and I didn't know what to do. It seemed as if everyone had everything figured out except for me.

"I don't know yet." I anwser truthfully.

"Courtney puts her book in her purse and faces me, taking my other hand in hers.

"Why didn't you tell me? You know what? Why don't I help you pick a college? I know tons of options that you might like. We can even pick one that close to mine so we can be near each other!" she says with a spark in her eye. It was hard to say no. "I'm sure you'll love California! We can even get an apartment together. You know- alone. No one can bother us..." she flirts, slowly getting closer to me.

"That would be great!" I say without thinking. I still didn't know if I wanted to go to college, but it wouldn't hurt to look, right?

*Late on at Courtney's House*

Me and Courtney lay on her bed. I'm just staring at the wall, while she does her homework. After awhile I feel moving on the bed and all of a sudden she has her head rested on my chest.

I look down and all the homework is put away in her bag.

"Finished already?" I tease.

"You haven't even started yours." she teases back.

I chuckle and take one arm out from under my head and wrap it around her waist. Making small circles into her lower back. She slowly relaxs into me. And for awhile we just lay there. Thinking, not talking. Enjoying the quiet.

And that is of course when Courtney's mom comes in.

I never realized this before but Courtney looks a lot like her mom. Yeah, so her mom has creamy white skin and blonde hair, but if you look at the face it is almost exact. Exact nose shape, eye shape, eye color, jaw line, lips, forehead. I could go on. I have even looked at pictures of when her mom was younger and asked Courtney if she has ever had blonde hair.

"Courtney, Duncan, foods ready." she gives us a smile smile before exiting the room.

"Please let there be mash potatoes." I hear Courtney silently pray.

*At Dinner*

"This is good, Mrs. Corcoran." I compliment Courtney's mom.

"Thanks, Duncan." she laughs, another thing Courtney and her mom have in common. The same laugh. "But, I didn't make this. It was the chef." she say, indicating towards the kitchen.

"Thank you!" Someone from inside yells.

"Your welcome!" I yell back. Courtney's dad lets out a slight laugh.

"You're different than most boys." Courtney's mom says.

I eat the rest of the food that was in my mouth before saying, "Thank you?"

"It's a good thing!" she says, looking apologetic. No doubt Courtney was glaring at her. "It means your unique. And that's what we want for our daughter. You know to get married, have children..."

"Mom!" Courtney exclaims. I choke on my water.

"What?" she shrugs her shoulders.

"You don't just tell people that!"

"Well you and Duncan are going to get married one day, right?" she "Yes, I do intend to marry your daughter." I get out and look over at Courtney who was blushing so hard.

"That is good news!" her father exclaims.

"I really want grandchildren. And lots of them. Maybe around six. You know, since Courtney is my only daugther." her mother points out.

"Do we have to talk about this today?" Courtney asks.

"Fine..." her mother sighs. "We can start talking about this when you get engaged."

"Which is hopefully soon." winks at me from the other side of the table.

"Hopefully." I nod, smiles.

"H-H-Ho-Hopefully not for a long time!" Courtney stutters.

"I don't know why you are making a big deal out of this." Mrs. Corcoran says with wide eyes.

"Because I'm only eighteen! Let me live a little before you rush me into marriage!" Courtney exclaims before rushing off into her room. Oh no...
