Sorry it's been so long, but guess what? Its summer now so I can write way more often! By the way, that lemony one-shot is up ;)

*At the North Pole

"Ugg, where is he? I know he's always late to these meetin's but an HOUR! Seriously!?" said the agitated bunny.

"I am sure he 'vill be here soon, this is Jack we're talking about," said North who took another cookie from a plate.

"Are we sure he's ok? He's never been this late to our meetings…" said Tooth who was beginning to worry about Jack and his whereabouts.

The 4 guardians were awaiting Jack's arrival to their monthly guardian meeting to check the status of the children of the world. Ever since Pitch had almost beaten them last year the guardians had been more alert for any signs of disruption. Now it was normal for Jack to be perpetually late, but usually it was only by 30 minutes at the most and today it had already been more than an hour.

"I am sure he's fine tooth, he 'vill be here any moment!" said North.

Among the three guardian's chatter, Sandy was eagerly trying to get their attention. He pulled on North's boots but the big man didn't notice him at all and he couldn't catch Tooth's attention. Finally, he clapped his hands together hard, sending a loud clap and a little dreamsand around the room.

Immediately, the 3 looked at him and noticed the agitated look on the small man's face.

"Ah, sorry my friend. 'Vhat is it? said North.

The Sandman conjured a picture of Jack sleeping.

"He's asleep? How do you know that? Jack doesn't sleep very often…" said the Tooth Fairy.

He created the image of a thought bubble above his head and pretended to be sleeping.

"He's dreaming? I'll go wake 'em up real quick" said Bunny as he began to crack his knuckles.

"There's no need for that Bunny. Besides, 've don't know where he is" said North.

Then, Sandy formed a spiral of dreamsand in his hand and with a flick of his wrist he connected to Jack's dreamsand line.

"Sandy, you're a genius!" said Tooth as the sandman smiled.

"To the sleigh!"

"Oh, not the bloody sleigh…"

Then Tooth cut in, "Guys we can't use the sleigh. We have to follow Sandy."

They all looked toward the Sandman to notice that he had just finished making a sail boat made of dreamsand.

"I don't think this 'vill go very fast," said North as he stepped into the sand boat. As soon as he was in, the boat took off and followed the line of Jack's dreams.

"Ahhhhh!" said Bunny with a scared tone. There was nothing for him to hold on to or even to dig his nails into because it was all sand. In just a few minutes Tooth looked over the side of the boat and said, "Look there! In that house!"

Sandy steered the boat near the house and landed on the ground under the window that the dreamsand was coming from. The 4 got out of the boat looking at their surroundings.

"Where are we?" said Tooth.

"Eh, I am almost there!" said North who was trying to climb the wall outside of the house to get into the window. Not even half way there, he fell to the ground.

"How 'vill we get up there?"

"Hey, North," said Bunny. North looked at him and Bunny waved his paw toward himself to get North to come closer to him.

"'Vhat is it?" said North. And as soon as he got close enough, Bunny tapped his foot on the ground and opened a hole under the four guardian's feet.

A moment later they were in Cassie's bedroom.

"Oh, very smart Bunny," said North as he turned toward the group, who were currently staring at the scene before them.

The guardians saw cloths casually tossed on the floor and Jack's staff leaning against the wall. On the bed was Cassie and Jack cuddling and sleeping peacefully. The covers were pulled up to their bare shoulders because they weren't wearing shirts, but judging by the pants on the floor the guardians figured that those were not being worn either…

"What the bloody hell is going on here!" said Bunny, loudly enough to wake Jack up.

"What the…" Jack said tiredly as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. Then helooked around and realized what was happening, "Oh shit."

"Jack, what did you do…" said Tooth who was blushing furiously.

"It's not what it looks like," Jack said to the guardians.

The four stared at him, dumbfounded.

"Ok, it's exactly what it looks like, but I have a good explanation!" He said as he tried to save himself.

"There is no good explanation! What were you thinking Jack!?" Tooth practically yelled. She sounded like a mother scolding her son and at the noise Cassie started to stir from her sleep.

"Sandy…" Jack whispered. With a wave of his hand, the Sandman forced Cassie into a deep sleep.

"Uh, 'vill meet you outside…" said North. Then Bunny tapped the ground and the four were gone.

Jack sighed and ran a hand through his hair, realizing that he was totally screwed. He reached for his pants that he had taken off right next to the bed and quickly put them on. He walked over to his blue sweatshirt lying across the room and pulled it over his head, frost already beginning to form on it.

He then grabbed his staff and wrote a note on some paper on her nightstand.

Duty calls,

I'll be back as soon as I can.

He pulled the covers up to Cassie more and kissed her cheek softly. He smirked as her lips pulled into a smile unconsciously as she dreamt.

He opened her window and looked back to her once more before whispering I love you, and jumped out the window.

*Cassie*

I yawned as I started to wake up, that was probably the longest I had slept in a while. I turned to my side in bed and noticed that Jack wasn't there. I sat up, confused, and felt a dull pain in my lower stomach. I gritted my teeth then saw a note on the nightstand next to me.

I smiled a little knowing that Jack was fine and would be back later. I lay back down on my bed and thought over the events of the previous night.
