Chapter 4 - Escape
Melissa's POV
Our bus arrived in bay 4 and got on and paid our £3.80 to go to the train station. We sat at the back of the bus and started conversation.
"I'm so excited, how about you?" I practically squealed.
"Nervous but excited," Jack replied quietly.
"It'll be ok," I reassured him.
He just smiled back and I put my earphones in and listened to Paramore.
50 minutes later we were going into the train station. We brought our tickets and went to wait on the platform. Our train arrived at 9:21 and we got on and took a seat. I put my earphones in again and Jack did the same.
At 10:45 we arrived in london then got the underground to Stansted which I chose because it would be busy so people would be less likely to remember me if the police interviewed them. It only took 10 minutes to get there but it felt like forever.
When we got there we checked in and got our tickets. We had seats next to each other and went through security, the scanner beeped for neither of us.
We went into the shops and had a Starbucks caramel latte and a cake each. Then we were just wondering around the shops until we found out our gate.
Jack's POV
We had to go to gate 54 and when we got there we were one of the first so we had to wait 45 minutes till we got on our plane.
When we got on the plane we sat down and turned our phones off and as the plane took off we sucked on sweets so our ears wouldn't pop. When we got in the air me and Liss turned on our phones, music and put our earphones in and I started listening to Green Day and Guns and Roses. I figure that she was either listening to Paramore, Lana Del Rae or both, as she usually is.
About half and hour into the plane journey food come round and there was croissants, a drink which you could choose and some other random stuff that looked so weird we didn't even bother trying. We threw away the random stuff and then Liss got her tablet out and started reading her usual weird stuff, FanFiction, Twilight, The Host or Morganville Vampires. That's all she has on that thing.
After about 9 hours the seatbelt light come on announcing that we would be arriving soon so Liss turned off her tablet and we both turned off our phones. We put them away and started sucking on sweets once again so our ears won't pop.
Then I heard a really high-pitched squeal coming from Liss' direction. I looked at her funny and she yelped "we're going to Canada, eek!"
"You can be such a girl sometimes" I laughed and shook my head at her.
"Maybe that's because I am," taunted Liss as she playfully slapped my arm.
"Owwwww," I exaggerated.
She laughed and turned away.
Then we felt the plane start to descend and each put another sweet in our mouths. Before we knew it we were on the ground and the plane was parked so we got our bags and walked into the airport. They checked our passports and we went through and grabbed our suitcases off the belt.
Liss called the taxi company she had saved on her phone and ordered the taxi. When the taxi arrived he put our bags in the boot and we got in the back seat. She told the driver the address and said she was from around here. I think that I remember her saying once that taxi drivers ask where you are from and if you're not from the area they go the long way to your destination to get more money.
About 3 hours later we passed a little sign that says 'Welcome To Whitechapel' and that made me and Liss smile at each other. Liss chose an airport quite a way from Whitechapel so that they didn't come looking for us here when they track the flight.
She gave the driver the money, we got out the taxi and the driver got our bags out of the boot then left. We walked into the building and up the stairs to the flat Liss had pre-rented by sending a cheque through the post that was from her made up bank account.
Liss had made a bank account in a fake name and took all the money out of her old bank account and some out of her mum's. She had taken it out in cash so the transfer couldn't be tracked. She then put most of the cash in the fake account but kept some out for emergencies in case the new debit card she had gotten for the fake account didn't work.
We walked into the flat and looked around after putting our stuff in our rooms.
"Wow, this is really nice," I complemented.
"I know," she replied, "let's get in bed then tomorrow we can unpack."
"Yup, see you in the morning Liss."
"You too," she answered.
Then we both got in our pyjamas and went to bed, not even brushing our teeth as we were both so mentally tired.
Then I was laying in bed thinking 'I can't believe we made it' all night.
