I am extremely sorry for the late update. Please don't hate me!

December 30
Since I had nothing else to do, I packed my stuff up. It's a wizard record. I've never packed this early. It's something what Granger might do. Tomorrow, Snape is going to apparate me to King's Cross station. And I had to get on the train as quickly as I can without attracting any attention. Which I have no problem since I don't want to catch sight of Granger either. With Weasley. And Potter. And Weaslette. And the Weasel parents. But especially with Weasley.
She didn't send me back a reply. I don't know, I guess I was expecting her to write something back. Had I being a little harsh on that letter? Nah. She deserved it. I should've been harsher.
Dammit, how am I going to put up with Nott and the rest? They'll start hooting in my ear like a bunch of owls now that they were right. I hate being humiliated.
I guess I have to go back and keep checking on the Vanishing Cabinet now.
CRAP, I forgot. Dumbledore's gonna croak this year. How the hell am I gonna hide from them? How am I going to be in the Order and put up with Granger and Weasley and Potter? Shit, shit, shit. That old man's crazy letting Snape kill him. Who the hell asks someone to kill you when there's a war coming and when you're known as the greatest wizard of all time? Why the hell is he abandoning us to do all the shit? I gotta put some sense in to him. 'Cause he can't just ask someone to kill him and leave without explaining things. Like where were mom and dad? What was I gonna do when Snape gets all the Death Eaters in (if that's the plan) and when they learn I've turned against them? I'll probably be the next wizard the Dark Lord wants to get hold of other than Potter.
Ha ha, Potter won't like that.
I'm already a traitor to the Dark Lord. Not that he knows it yet but Dumbledore would have done something to that Cabinet by now. Hopefully he's not crazy enough to let Death Eaters in to Hogwarts… Except for me.
I can almost hear Granger ranting me to stop that attitude. I wonder if she meant it. I wonder if she really thought of me as anything but a Death Eater.
Hermione's eyes swept around the crowd. There were kids saying good bye to their parents, chatting, laughing, thanking for their wonderful Christmas. But Draco seemed nowhere in sight.
"He's not here, Hermione." Ron said next to her. "Hermione, can the tail be seen?" He asked worriedly.
Hermione ignored him. But Ginny assured him that it had shrunken a lot since the morning.
"He's probably inside, already." Harry offered.
I hope so. Hermione thought. She was starting to have a horrid feeling; what if Draco never came? Pushing the thoughts aside, she hugged Mr. and Mrs. Weasley goodbye. Fred and George had left last night since they had to take over their shop which they had left for some of their friends to look after. After Ron, Harry and Ginny were done saying good bye, they headed in to the train.
"Look, we can sit here." Ron said as he opened a compartment.
"I have to go look for him." Hermione said putting away her trunk. The train was starting to move.
"Already?" Ginny asked. "Hermione, it's not like he's gonna run away. We won't be arriving at Hogwarts till dinner. You've got plenty of time. Rest a bit and have some of the sandwiches."
"Yeah, mom's filled 'em up. I don't think she wanted your share to be thrown away." Ron said with a grin.
"Or worse; hogged by Ron." Ginny said, earning a giggle from Hermione and a playful pout from Ron.
"And after that we'll come with you, if you want." Harry said.
"No, that's okay." Hermione said. "He sounded frustrated in his letter. I want to know his reasoning for why he left. It better be good." She muttered the last bit to herself remembering his bogus letter saying that SHE had CHEATED on him.
"Frustrated? What's new?" Ron joked.
"Don't say that. It hasn't been a picnic for him with you guys. I mean, there was so much tension." Hermione said.
"That's true. It would have been irritating if I had to be with a bunch of Slytherins." Harry said and Hermione smiled at him, glad that Harry understood.
"Oh well, okay. Come back soon and good luck with whatever it is with Malfoy." Ron said with a shrug as Hermione left.
Hermione now had no idea where Malfoy could be. There were hundreds of compartments. And she didn't know in which section of the train Draco could be. Hermione suddenly wished there was a Map like Harry's for the Hogwarts Express. It would have been a lot easier then. Could she accio him? Hermione shook her head. What was she thinking? That was ridiculous. And Draco wouldn't like it if he was suddenly dragged out of his compartment and zoomed towards her with his feet in the air, though that would be quite an amusing sight. Well, she might as well start by the back area of the train because most of the first and second years were at the front.
Actually it hadn't been that hard to find him as she assumed even though she walked in to a couple who were enjoying an extreme snog session and a bunch of fourth years being completely immature, trying to show off who had the best abs. Hermione almost had the urge to say that her boyfriend's was the best, before she shook her head and went off to search him first, before talking about his abs. It didn't occur to her to warn those students since she was a prefect.
Hermione had almost lost hope when she opened a compartment door and Draco had turned to stare at her. She stared back at him. And he kept staring.
Hermione's mind flashed with the horrid image of Draco lying in a pool of blood, the last time she had seen him, even though technically it wasn't him. Within a flash Hermione rushed over to him and hugged him, smothering her face in his chest, her arms around his waist as if she wasn't planning to ever let go.
Draco hadn't expected someone to suddenly open his compartment when he had being trying to zip back his zip on his trouser, which annoyingly had seemed to have …. Unzipped. It would have been an embarrassing situation if that person hadn't been his girlfriend—no, ex-girlfriend—no, class mate—WHATEVER—whom he had missed terribly and had suffered an extreme ache to see her. And when she rushed to him and clutched him to her, it was pure instincts and need to hold her and keep her within his personal space as long as possible, to bury his face and snuggle in to Hermione's bushy but extremely soft hair and take a deep breath of her scent which he had missed. It was after a few seconds did Hermione decide to do the extreme stupidity of bursting that perfect romantic bubble.
"Why did you leave?" She asked looking up at him, her eyes shining.
It was like watching someone flick on a different channel on a muggle television. It was like watching McGonagall turn in to her cat form. It was like turning a light on. Or in this case, more like turning it off, watching Draco's face that had lightened up, suddenly turn dark and hard. His eyes turned cold and his lips formed in to a scowl. And Hermione had certainly not expected him to push her away from him.
"You know why." Draco growled, the disgusting image on his mind.
"No, I don't" Hermione said, confused. Why had he pushed her away?
"Stop acting dumb, Granger. I saw you with Weasley. I saw you with him. AND YOU DARE SAY YOU DON'T KNOW WHY." Malfoy snapped.
"But it's nothing! There's nothing going on with me and R—"
"Oh, so you fancied a snog for fun?" Malfoy asked sarcastically.
"Snog? What the hell are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about you snogging Weasley in your room. There, I spelled it out for you."
"You didn't spell it, you said it. Spelling is like Y-O-U-S-N-O-G-G-E-D-R-O-N." Hermione said annoyingly.
"Bloody Hell, I know what it means!" Draco felt like pulling his hair out. "Spelled it, said it, whatever! You just did it."
"No, I didn't. I never snogged Ron."
"Liar."
Hermione suddenly saw red. "Why the hell would I want to snog him? WHY SHOULD I, WHEN I KEEP REMINDING YOU THAT YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON I LOVE? When is that dense brain of yours ever going to understand that? You dare accuse me of something I had never done and you dare call ME a LIAR?" She shrieked and Malfoy couldn't help feel a bit uneasy. He started having second thoughts. Had he hallucinated?
Malfoy took a deep breath. "Okay, fine. So you're saying that you weren't snogging with Weasley in your room in the morning, on boxing day?" he scorned.
"What? No. We didn't even do as much as a hug that day. And I don't remember staying long enough in my room to snog anyone that morning." Hermione tried to calm herself down. Draco was seriously misunderstood. She had to stay calm.
"So weren't you with Weasley at all?"
"Yeah, I was. But downstairs. When did you even wake up?"
"I dunno, around nine? What does tha—"
"Well, I was downstairs at that time actually." She said triumphantly. "I was helping Mrs. Weasley with the breakfast. I didn't come to my room again until I had to look around for you and find that freaking corpse." She said.
"The freaking what?" Malfoy's eyes widened, wondering if he heard right.
"A corpse." Hermione's voice hushed. "Of you. It was just a boggart." She paused. "That's why I've being going crazy worrying. What if it really happened? You can't just waltz away when ever you feel like it." She stepped closer.
"Her worst fear is my corpse." Malfoy muttered to himself.
Suddenly it dawned to Hermione. Of course! It made sense now. "Oh my god, Draco. What did you see in my room?" She asked excitedly.
"I don't want to go through details, Granger. Just go away if you're here to torture me for my stupidity." Draco said turning away from her. But he felt her grab his shoulders and spin him roughly to face her. And it was hard trying to look like he wanted nothing to do with her when she was standing that close, so beautiful, with her scent and inviting lips. Draco held the urge to grab her and snog her senseless.
"You saw me kissing Ron? Is that what you saw? Is that why you left?"
Malfoy reluctantly nodded, scowling. Then to his surprise Hermione grinned and smacked a kiss on his lips. Damn, he had missed those soft lips.
"You saw a boggart, silly." She giggled.
Draco stared at her as if she had just spoken a foreign language.
"There was boggart in my room, Draco. I didn't know until I came to my room and saw your—I mean, my worst fear. So what you saw was a boggart. You didn't actually see me kissing Ron. It was your worst fear—which I might add, is quite pathetic. You have better things to be afraid of."
Malfoy frowned. The boggart had looked a tad bit too real to him. He still felt insecure. "Well, easy for you to give theories like that Granger. The thing is how would I know if it's true? Any one could invent a story like that." Draco snapped, shrugging her hands off his shoulders.
"Oh, so you don't believe me?" Hermione snapped back. She felt hurt.
"Dammit, Hermione. I want to!" Malfoy felt frustrated. "But every time I think about Weasley, that—that's what I see. You two snogging. Can you blame me? What if you walked in and saw me snogging—I dunno—Weaslette? Would you still believe me too? Would it be still the same?"
Hermione had nothing to say to that. He did have a point. Hermione bit her lip. She tried picturing Malfoy and Ginny snoggi—Bloody hell, that was…... sick. Draco with his arms wrapped around Ginny and Ginny clutching his hair, her little tail waving around. No, just NO.
Then a thought occurred. A brilliant thought to be precise.
"Draco, When Ron was snogging 'me', he didn't have his tail, did he?"
He looked at her as if she was crazy. "What tai—OH!" Malfoy stared at her. She was bloody right.
AGAIN.
Weasley was supposed to have that furry tail Malfoy had given but that day; he hadn't seen any sign of a tail. "Bloody hell…" Draco murmured, raking his hand through his neat hair.
"Bloody hell is right." Hermione folded her arms and smirked. She watched him clutch his hair and stare at her. He walked over to her unsurely. She opened her arms for a hug, indicating that she wasn't angry at his behaviour and the immaturity of jumping in to conclusions . He hugged her, glad to have her back even though he had never lost her.
"Hermione, I-I'm sorry. I'm…. such a git." Draco said in to her hair, still hugging her, feeling terrible, remembering how he had felt towards her the past few days. "Damn, I was being stupid all this time….. Please, Hermione, forgive me. I was a bloody, ungrateful, unjust bastard to doubt you and—" Hermione withdrew from him and tapped her finger on his lips.
"I know. But it's not your fault. Anyone would have acted the way you did—" Hermione frowned. "—though taking off without telling me was unacceptable. Everyone thought you betrayed us."
Draco looked ashamed as he avoided her gaze. "Sorry. I won't do it again." He mumbled looking down, as if he was a five year old boy who had eaten all the candy without sharing.
"You're forgiven." Hermione reached out and stroked his cheek, making him look up. "But you'll have to have something to tell the others."
Draco scowled. "You're torturing me. I have to go admit my utter idiocy?"
"Yes. But it wasn't idiocy. Nobody can blame you for exploding with jealousy because you're awfully in love with me." Hermione said playfully.
"Damn, I am. I missed you." Draco's voice turned husky.
"Ditto." Hermione murmured as she stood in tip toes, her lips brushing his.
Impatient to wait any longer, Draco captured her lips. Now did he remember how much he had missed her hands winding slowly in to his hair, her intoxicating smell, her soft lips and the pleasant shock that ran through his body when he held her close. The sweet gentle kiss deepened in to a fierce passionate one, before Draco tore his lips off hers.
"Hermione," He was breathing hard. "Are you still sure.-?"
"Aw, Draco. Of course I am! What am I supposed to do to convince you? I'll do anything." Hermione said tiredly.
"I mean, c'mon. I've being nothing but a prat. I'm, like using you."
"No, you're not…... Are you?"
"No, I don't mean to, but it feels like that…"
"Merlin, Draco! What happened to that guy who wanted everything and got it no matter what? The guy who thought for himself? You're going a bit soft, you know?" Hermione teased.
Draco scowled. "No, I'm not."
"Then you're not gonna give me up, are you? You're not gonna let me go to Ron, are you? Because frankly," Hermione scrunched her nose. "I love him like a brother."
Malfoy just stared deeply in to her eyes. "I'm not gonna let you go. I'm gonna hold on to you and I'm not letting you go to some other bloke." He finally said firmly.
"So who am I with?"
"Me."
"Who do I love?"
"ME."
"Who do you love?"
"Me—I mean, you."
Hermione giggled. "Good. And you're going to be like that. Am I clear?"
"Crystal." Draco grinned.
Hermione grinned back and kissed him. Draco gladly accepted the embrace. He dragged Hermione with him and sat down on the seats, pulling her on his lap as they fiercely snogged.
"Draco," Hermione said breaking away. "Some one might see us. We're prefects."
"I don't care." He growled as he trailed kisses from her cheek to her neck. Hermione's eyes fluttered in to a close, as she moaned. She drew in a shaky breath.
"Draco." Hermione said firmly.
Draco sighed. He drew back and leaned back and looked away. But to his surprise Hermione didn't go anywhere. She simply took her wand out and drew the blinds down. Without a warning she pressed her lips on to his. Draco smiled against her lips. She was letting him have his way. He leaned against her and tightened his grip around her. He heard her gasp and it sent a pleasant sensation through him. He was startled when he felt Hermione grope around his shirt and started to unbutton them. Merlin, was this happening? He broke the kiss and moved on back to her neck. He inhaled her scent, as he gently kissed her smooth skin. He felt her hand press on his cool chest, the other clutching his hair. So much for combing it. He gently nipped the crook of her neck. She gasped and she pulled him closer.
Don't be ridiculous
"Not that ridiculous now, is it?" Draco whispered to Hermione's ear, his eyes shining wickedly.
Hermione smiled, realizing she had lost. "No, it's not ridiculous at all."
"Ha." Draco breathed before gently kissing her, this one soft and sweet. His hands stroked her waist and they drew dangerously further north when Hermione heard Ron's loud voice outside the compartment. Startling Draco, she got off him and pulled him up. She quickly buttoned his shirt back.
"Hermione—What the—" Draco looked bewildered.
The compartment door opened.
"Oh, there you….. ...are." Ron's voice trailed away, looking at Malfoy to Hermione and back at Malfoy.
"Yeah." Hermione's voice came like a squeak. She cleared her throat. "I found him and got things cleared up."
"Sure, we believe you." Harry said with a smirk, glancing at his best friends tousled hair and at Malfoy's messed up uniform, which he usually kept it neat.
There was an awkward silence. Ron's ears had gone slightly pink and Harry and Ginny were trying hard not to laugh at the blushing couple.
"So, why did you leave?" Ron asked finally.
"I—uh—" Malfoy muttered, not really want to tell what he saw in that blasted bedroom.
"He saw that boggart, and he thought it was real, like me." Hermione said helpfully. Draco smiled at her gratefully.
"A boggart scared you?" Ron sneered. Harry looked at Hermione with a raise eyebrow, sensing there was more to the story.
"Well, it scared you too, when you saw his b-body. You should've seen your face." Ginny said.
"Aw, that's touching. Weasley cares for me?" Draco smirked.
"I did not—" Ron sputtered getting red.
"Good to see you alive, Malfoy." Harry said quickly.
"Yeah." Ginny agreed with a small smile.
"C'mon, get your stuff. Sit with us." Hermione said.
Draco looked at Hermione with a pleading 'Do-I-Have-To?' look. He'd rather be with her.
"You guys go on." Hermione said. "I'll help him with his trunk."
Looking at her suspiciously Ron and the others left.
"C'mon, let's stay here." Draco said pulling Hermione to him.
"No, I'm hungry and there are some sandwiches I have to finish. Besides you get to piss Ron off, if you want."
Draco's eyes gleamed.
"Just no insulting and going too far." Hermione said taking his cage, with Silver.
"Wouldn't dream of it." he hid a smirk.
"Oh, and Draco?" Hermione said turning to Draco, with a ting of blush on her cheek. She reached up and whispered in to Draco's ear.
He blushed and turned his back to Hermione to zip back his trouser.
Sorry if it was too fluffy. Thanks for reading. Love to hear a review from you guys!
