Chapter 5 - New school
Melissa's POV
I got out of bed at 7am the next day after Jack had come in my room and literally kicked me out of bed. I dyed my hair, got showered, brushed my teeth, got dressed and put my make-up on. I put on my blue skinny jeans and my black top with a gold peace sign on. Over the top I put on my gray and white baseball jacket.
I went into our kitchen and Jack was in there with two mugs, a boiling kettle and was putting coffee and sugar into one of the cups. He was wearing beige chinos, I guess a t-shirt, a green hoodie and his hair was also dyed.
"Tea or coffee?" He questioned me.
"Coffee, 3 sugars and milk please," I replied.
He made my coffee and we sat at the table whilst drinking our coffees.
I put my black boots with studs on and he put his trainers on. Then he got his backpack full of stuff he'd need and I got my handbag with some make-up in just in case I needed to apply more lipstick or something. It also had pens, pencils, notebooks and My Baby Sitter's A Vampire box set.
I'd planned our route so that we passed Benny's and Ethan's houses on our way at the precise time they leave. When we were near we started arguing about which way to go then as we rounded the corner we 'accidentally' walked into 2 boys our age.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" I nearly yelled.
"It's fine with me babe," he flirted. Ugh this is obviously Benny, the obnoxious, flirtatious geek.
Ethan then came up to me "sorry 'bout him."
"It's ok," I told him.
Then Jack spoke up,"um, do you mind if we walk with you to school because we are new here and we are totally lost?" He asked.
"Yeah sure," Benny and Ethan replied, at the same time.
"Thanks," I said, a little too cheerfully.
We started walking towards school in silence then Benny asked "so what's your names?"
"I'm Melissa," I stated.
"Jack," replied Jack.
"Cool, I'm Benny and this is Ethan."
"So, where you from?" quizzed Ethan.
"England," I told them.
"Cool..." Said Benny, awkwardly.
Luckily we reached Whitechapel High at that precise moment in time, no more awkward conversations for now. We walked into the school with Benny and Ethan and went to reception. Me and Jack received our timetables and our locker combinations. We went to our lockers and we were across the hall from Ethan and Benny.
Then we saw Sarah and Erica coming down the hallway and all I could think was 'shit, shit, shit.' They come up to us and Erica spoke.
"Who are you new dorks?"
"I'm Melissa and although I may be smart, I am not a dork." I said confidently, "and you are who, slutty, bitch of the year." I knew this kind of attitude would show her I am not a dork because dorks don't stand up to popular girls.
She laughed then tried to slap me, but I grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her back, before slamming her into the lockers.
"Am I a dork now?" I said cockily.
Her face looked shocked and a little frightened but no one else looked scared just impressed. I guess they don't know she's a vamp. I laughed and she walked but not before giving me a dirty look. We went to classes.
My first class was English with Benny and Jack. Then I had Science with Benny and Ethan. After that me and Jack had Art.
We went for lunch and sat with Benny and Ethan then I said I needed the toilet to talk to Erica. I actually found her in the toilets doing her make-up, that was my first guess on where she would be.
"They don't know do they?" I asked her.
"No," she replied.
"They need to," I told her, "have you started babysitting Ethan yet?"
"Um, I start Friday."
"Ok well me and Jack will be there. I'll get Jack to bring Rory and you can bring Sarah."
"Why?"
"Because something bad is going to happen and you need to trust me."
"Fine," she replied.
Then I left and went back to Benny, Ethan and Jack.
When I got there we ate then went to lesson.
Me, Rory and Jack had Maths next and I thought, 'this was going to be fun.' I went into the class and the teacher said to try to factorise and solve the quadratic equations on the board.
I had finished the 2 quadratic equations in 3 minutes and put my hand up.
"Miss I've finished!" I called to her.
She come over to me and checked my work, then her mouth fell open.
"How?" She asked, extremely shocked that I did the work so easily.
Jack was sat next to me and decided to be a jerk and embarrass me, "she was the top at maths in our whole school, including the years above." I gave him a dirty look.
"Wow, I'll get you some quadratic graphs, can you do those." I nodded I did not trust myself to speak because I was so angry with Jack.
She can me the work sheet of 10 quadratic graphs and I had finished by the end of the hour-long lesson. I walked out the class waited for Jack and Rory. Then we went to geography which was our last lesson and I had it with Jack, Rory, Benny and Ethan. That was pretty boring and then when the bell went we exited to school and me, Jack Benny and Ethan walked home.
Jack's POV
We entered our flat and I literally ran to the bathroom and lock the door because even though we are both vampires she scared me. That's because she knows more about vampires than me. She gave up on waiting for me to come out after a while and she went to the shop to get food. When she come back she made pasta bake and we ate it in the living room whilst watching Bones, it was actually pretty good considering Liss chose it.
We had treacle sponge for desert which Liss also made. By the time we had finished our desert it was 7pm and she put on one of my worst nightmares, Take Me Out. So I went to my room and played on my laptop instead.
Then she called me through to the living room, I wondered why but then on the screen was kinect adventures!
"When and how the heck did you get that?" I yelled at her.
"It arrived at my house saturday," she replied, "I bought the game, Xbox and kinect all for £100."
"Wow, that's cheap," I told her.
"I know, that's why I bought it!" She said sarcastically.
I laughed and we played kinect adventures throughout the night.
