Normal POV
The thirteen-year-old Uzumaki waited impatiently for her best friend to speak. Said best friend was extremely nervous; his palms were sweating, avoided her eyes, and had trouble forming coherent thought.
"You okay." Kushina asked, as he had been quite for a long time.
"I, well, umm, I don't know." Minato admitted, still unable too look at her.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Kushina said, "I won't mind."
"No, you have to know," Minato finally looked up at Kushina, "I'm leaving."
"Leaving!" Her eyes widened, "Why?"
"I'm going on a trip with Jirayia-sensei," the blond replied, "for three years."
"Three years," Kushina looked down.
"Kushina?" Minato asked, "Are you okay?"
"No." She was quivering and her eyes were watering "I'm not okay! How can I be okay!? You'e leaving for three years! Why would I be okay with that!? You're my best friend! I don't want you to leave!"
Minato wrapped his arms around her, "Kushina, it be alright. I promise. We'll always be friends. Forever. And when I come back, I'll come see you first."
"I'm going to miss you." Kushina pulled away and wiped away her tears. Then she looked straight into Minato's eyes, "I didn't cry, got it."
Minato smiled, "Affirmative. I'll miss you too."
"Good." Kushina leaned against a tree, "So when are you leaving?"
"In two days, I've been trying to tell you for a while now." Minato answered, "Sensei decided to take me as his apprentice. But I'm Jōnin, and he doesn't have the jurisdiction to take me out of the village for training. It doesn't matter though, Hokage-sama is letting him anyways."
"Oh, come on then. We only have two days to hang out and the clock is ticking." Kushina proceeded to drag Minato towards the village.
...
Two Days Later
Minato stood by the gate, as Jirayia said goodbye to his teammates and sensei, waiting for a certain red-hair girl to appear. Just as Jirayia turned to leave, said red-head yelled out, "Hey, wait!"
She came to a stop in front of Minato and held out her hands. She was holding a small scroll: it was navy blue, had a golden trim and in the middle there was circle with the the kanji for dragon in it.
"What is this?" Minato asked.
Kushina stepped closer to him and in a low voice said, "It's my gift to you. When you're absolutely certain you're alone, open it. No one else can see it, okay? Not Jirayia or even Hokage-sama."
"Okay. What is it, exactly?" He looked at her curiously.
"It's a scroll." Kushina replied, "I can't tell you what it is in it. Just promise, no. Swear you won't show it to anyone else, and keep it with you at all times. When I say at all times, I mean at all times."
"Okay, I swear. I won't show it to anyone." Minato said, "You are acting really weird."
"I know, but it's important and I giving this to you because I trust you. Also, technically, it belongs to you. Everything will be explained, when you open it. Don't ask. I can't tell you, not now. Not with him nearby." She looked over to Jirayia, who looked impatient and curious, and then at her normal volume said: "Bye Minato. Take care okay? And you better not forget about your best friend!"
"I won't." Minato wrapped his arms around her, "Bye Kushina. Make sure to beat up Fugaku for me and try not to do anything reckless, okay?"
"I make no promises. As for beating up Fugaku up, it would be my pleasure." Kushina smiled. "Now, go on. The pervert is getting impatient."
Minato pulled away, gave Kushina one last smile, then turn away. She watched them until they were out of sight.

Five Months Later
"What are you doing with a rubber ball, Minato?" Jirayia asked.
"Making a new Jutsu." The blond replied.
"Carry on." The Gama Sennin headed towards the bath houses.
...
Several Hours Later
"Minato what are you drawing?" Jirayia looked over his (Minato's) shoulder.
"A Kunai." Minato didn't look up.
"It has three prongs and the handle looks thicker." Jirayia continued his examination of the picture.
"I know, I designing it for myself." Minato answered, "I'm going to have it custom-made."
"Oh." Once again Jirayia left, this time in the direction of the town's red-light district.
...
Sometime around Midnight
"What- Never mind, I don't want to know. I'm going to bed." Jirayia said, as he returned.
Minato looked up from the his notes and gave his sensei a look of confusion. I'm only studying Jikūkan Ninjutsu, it not like it's a big deal.

Two years and a month later
It had been more then two years, since Namikaze Minato left Konoha, and many things had happened for example: Uzumaki Kushina was finally allowed to leave the village, to visit her homeland; however, she couldn't stay longer than a month at a time. Also, Kushina had been promoted to Jōnin; the second person to do so in her generation- the first being Minato. As for Minato's fan-clubs, many had disbanded, as Minato was not around for them to obsess over. However, some of the the more hardcore Fan-girls had started come up with a odd rituals. I will not go into specifics, too traumatizing, but they involve: black-magic, and voodoo dolls, blood, and they (the rituals) usually occur under a full moon. Anyways, back to Kushina. She had began to gain her own devoted following as well. Kushina had no official fan-club, but that was because most boys were to terrified to admit they liked her. But what are they terrified of, us ask? Of Kushina's use-to-be teammate Iwana Jiro; her Genin team disbanded more than a year ago because Masuyo dropped out of the ninja program, after Kushina got promoted to Jōnin. Anyways, no one was scared of Jiro because he is strong. It was because his father was very wealthy and passed away a four years ago, leaving a large inheritance to his only child: who used the funds to hire thugs threaten anyone romantically interested in Kushina. But he had very little money left, and some people have started to realize this: so lately, Jiro had been putting a lot of effort into pursuing Kushina. Unfortunately, for him, the fifteen-year-old Uzumaki could careless about him. There is only one boy Kushina wants to see, and that's Minato. Now enough about Konoha, let see how Minato's doing.

Minato's POV
I've completed my training. Sensei was surprised, he had expected it to take me longer. Once he got over his shock, he seemed really happy for some reason, and kept muttering about some prophecy. I don't really care much about that. I'm more interested in what was in the scroll, Kushina gave me. It not just any scroll, it a summoning contract scroll for dragons, also it came with instructions. I wrote my name, in blood, on the scroll and summoned a dragon: it was a small one, which is to be expected. Anyways, he, it was a male, had blue and green scales and flouted in the air with ease. I asked him many questions and all of them were answered. And the things I learned were amazing, and almost impossible to believe. Since then, I haven't tried to summon a dragon. I'm scared of what I'll discover, if I do. Also, Jirayia-sensei has been trying to look in it; I caught him holding it once, since then, I've carried it with me always. At least, I finally know why Kushina told me not to show it to anyone. If anyone were to see in it, they'd want it for themselves. And, if Hokage-sama found out about it, Kushina would get into trouble. Speaking of Kushina, I wonder how she doing. I miss her, more than I thought I would. You see, I had hoped that my crush on her would fade, but it hasn't. If anything, I'm realizing how much I like her. I suppose I should explain. Kushina is my best friend, and I've had a crush on her, since we were kids. When I first saw her, I was speechless; her hair is so pretty, I had never seen anything like it, and Kushina, herself, is very pretty. And, when she said she wanted to be the first female Hokage, I had started to admire her. That admiration developed into a crush.
"Minato." Jirayia-sensei said, breaking me out of my thoughts. "It time to go."
"Okay." I picked up my bag, and followed him out of the hotel.
Sensei and I have been traveling around different towns for months, we were checking up on his spy network. We walked in silence, not the awkward kind, for a while. Then sensei spoke:
"Minato, I've received some troubling information. Someone or perhaps even a group of people are after you. It appears that this person or group wants you eliminated. However, why they want to kill you, I don't know. We are going to have to return to Konoha, earlier than planned. Not just because of this group, but because war is on the horizon."
"When are we going back?" I asked.
"We start heading back now, and, if we make good time, we'll be there within a few weeks." He replied.
I doubled my pace. Sensei sighed, then fell in step with me.
...
Three Weeks Later
The entrance gate iwa in sight, and sensei was sending me not so subtle glares.
"What?" I asked.
"I'm exhausted. Did you have to run me ragged just to see your girlfriend?" Jirayia-sensei's eyes were burning holes in my back.
"Yes. And Kushina is not my girlfriend, she's my best friend." I said, as we walked through Konoha's gates, "Where did you get that i-"
"I'll report to Sarutobi-sensei. You're free to do what you want." Sensei interrupted and then disappeared, leaving behind a cloud of smoke.
As for me, I started heading home, taking care to not be seen.
Then I saw a group of young men, around my age, hiding behind a wall. They didn't notice me. They are either low ranking ninja, civilians, or I've gotten really good at hiding my presence.
"She's so beautiful." One of them said, "I like almost everything about her. If only the color of her hair wasn't so ugly hair and she wasn't so violent, then I'd like everything."
"I actually like her attitude, but as for her hair color, I do not like at all, either." Another said.
Who are they talking about?
My curiosity got the best of me, and I quietly crept up the wall of the building. Once I was on the roof, I looked around, trying to find who they were looking at. Then I saw a flash of red, in the corner of my eye and I turned to it.
A girl with long red-hair, that's got to be Kushina.
I jumped down into the crowded street and naturally attracted some stares. I ignored them, looking straight at Kushina.
"Kushina," I called,"Is that you?"
"Huh?" She turned around, "Who said that?"
"Me." I grinned at her, "You're shorter than I remember."
"Minato," She ran over to me, and I pulled her into a hug, "You're back."
"Yes, I am. How you've been?" I asked.
"Good." She pulled away and then smiled, "You're early."
"Sensei said we were needed back here." I answered, "What are you up to?"
"Well, I was actually look for something to do." Kushina suddenly looked over to the group of boys, a few feet away. "Is it me or are they staring at us."
"I'd say they are staring at us." I glared at them, "Want me to take care of them?"
"No, let's just get out of here. Acknowledging them will only encourage them to continue." Kushina proceeded to lead me away.
"Are they what I think they are?" She continued to pull me along.
"Depends what do you think they are?" She replied.
"Fan-boys." I smirked, "Kushina-chan has fans. Aww, you're growing up!"
"Shut up." Kushina's grip on my arm tightened, "It's the worst thing that could have happened."
"When did they start showing up?" I asked.
Kushina had dragged me all the way to the Park, before she finally let go of me and then she answered my question.
"It all started a few weeks ago," She began.
