Gabriel checked the house number again to make sure he was at the right place. The flat brown house definitely was not what he had expected upon discovering that Dean's guardian owns a very successful bar in town. Gabriel put his people on finding the address which really wasn't that hard. Gabriel knocked on the dark door and shoved his hands in his pockets. He wasn't even sure what he was going to say. He just knew he had to say something. The door swung open, but there was no one there. Gabriel blinked confused until he felt a tug on his pant leg. He looked down into the big brown eyes of a small blonde girl. "Hi, I'm Jo!" She chirped with a wide smile. Gabriel crouched down and smiled. "Hello, Jo! Do you know if Dean is home?" Gabriel asked her. Her face twisted in concentration as she tried to remember. "He went to the magic bench!" She answered with a grin. "The magic bench?" Gabriel questioned with a smile. This little girl was absolutely adorable. "Uh-huh. He likes to go there when he gets upset. He said it was magic because it helps him feel better," Jo explained and Gabriel nodded. "Do you know where the bench is?" Gabriel asked her. "It's by the big people park, the one with no swings or slide," she told him with an expression that told anyone looking that she did not approve of this swingless park. "Thank you, Jo. You've been a big help," Gabriel said and she smiled widely. "You're welcome!" Gabriel said goodbye and headed off to Green Grove Park, the only park around that fit the description.

Sure enough, when Gabriel pulled up he noticed the black '67 Impala parked haphazardly. He parked his own red sedan and began to look for this magic bench. It didn't take long for him to spot Dean seated on a bench that looked out over the green field that held a few scattered people here and there. Dean had his elbows propped up on his knees and his mouth was covered by his hands as he stared at nothing in particular. Gabriel walked around the back of the bench and sat on the end if the adjacent one. "So, a magic bench, huh?" Gabriel broke the silence. Dean jolted and his head snapped up. Gabriel realized that Dean hadn't even noticed his arrival. "Uh, yeah, I come here to think," he replied sounding much more gruff than usual. "What are you thinking about?" Dean arched an eyebrow and fixed Gabriel in his green gaze trying to figure out what his play was. "I think you know damn well what I'm thinking about." The slight edge of hostility in his voice didn't go unnoticed by Gabriel, but he knew Dean wasn't angry with him. "What's going in with that anyways? I'm not an idiot, Dean, I know you like my brother." Dean shook his head.

"It's not like that."

"Yes it is, you just got cold feet when he finally confronted you."

"I'll deal with it when he's back in school next week." Dean shook his head tiredly.

"He's not going back to school next week," Gabriel lied. He had to do something to get the train that is Dean rolling. "What do you mean?" Dean asked guardedly now as if he wasn't quite sure he wanted to know the answer. "He's coming to live with me and enroll in the school in the city." The look on Dean's face was so heartbreaking that Gabriel had to hold back his satisfactory smirk. "So, you mean, I won't see him again?" Dean asked slowly. "Nope," Gabriel popped the 'p' and stood up. "I mean, not unless you do something to stop him before he takes off this Saturday," Gabriel shrugged. "I gotta go. See you around." With that Gabriel walked away feeling pretty satisfied that he had broken through to Dean.
