Chapter 2
She had survived the first day. The second day shouldn't have been much harder, right?
Wrong.
Deidara had arrived early (a huge change compared to yesterday, really), and ShiShi had been in the library reading manga (Fairy Tail for the win!) when the redhead with the eyeliner, what's-his-face Gaara, came up behind her.
"So. Temari told me what you said to her yesterday." He had said in a complete monotone.
ShiShi was confused for a few seconds, then realized what she had said and turned pink.
"Your point being?" She had fired back, determined not to seem weak.
He glared back, not blinking. "It's not eyeliner, asshole."
Well, that cleared a few things up. And created more questions.
"How'd you get that to happen, then? I mean, Dei has slight black lines around his eyes, but they're due to eyeliner. He'd kill for your tricks." ShiShi rambled, much to the redhead's annoyance.
"I didn't plan this." He simply muttered.
She mentally facepalmed. If it wasn't eyeliner, what was it supposed to be? Ah, hell. The world may never know.
The bell rang, signaling for them to get to class, and ShiShi gathered her things and left, leaving behind a rather disgruntled Gaara.
ShiShi had been in the middle of math project when she heard the explosion from the class below her.
She started counting down from three in her head, because that was the amount of time it took between an explosion and the fire alarm.
Sure enough, the fire alarm went off as soon as she got to zero.
"OhmyGAWD!" Sakura screamed. Somebody had been caught off guard.
"Calm down. It's fine." Jiraiya reassured her. "Everybody, get out of the building. And make sure you stick with a buddy!"
ShiShi got out of her seat, but when she walked out of the classroom, she immediately started walking towards Deidara's classroom. She couldn't just let the school burn down, and she knew exactly how to fix it.
But little did she know, she was followed by a certain blue-haired, teal-eyed girl.
"Wait!" The cat-eared teen yelled.
ShiShi turned to face where the voice had come from. Koneko stood there, panting slightly.
"What are you doing here?" ShiShi questioned.
"Jiraiya said to stay with a buddy." Koneko explained.
ShiShi raised a brow. "Is that the only reason?"
Koneko shook her head. "Nah. I heard the explosion too. I can help you put it out."
ShiShi nodded, and the two went on to the chemistry lab that Deidara had been in when he exploded...whatever it was.
"Are you sure we can put this out?" Koneko shouted, trying not to get too close to the flames.
"Positive." ShiShi yelled back. "Dei does this all the time, and I'm always the one putting it out."
"Dei?" Koneko raised a delicate blue brow.
"Deidara. My older brother." ShiShi explained, then broke open the fire extinguisher container.
She grabbed the can of steam, shook it a bit, and started firing it on the flames in front of them so they could get into the lab. Koneko followed, looking around for anything she could use to put out the fire.
And then she saw the source.
It used to be a beaker, she had determined from the un-black ring left from the base after the explosion. The table had all sorts of flammable chemicals spilled on it after the beaker had exploded. It looked as if the table was on fire, but Koneko knew it was just the chemicals.
For now.
She sprinted over to the sink, grabbing the hose attached to the faucet. She aimed the hose at the table, and turned the water on full blast.
The chemical fires were no match for the water, and started sputtering out. Koneko then started spraying the rest of the lab that was on fire, extinguishing that as well.
She turned off the water, feeling proud of herself for getting rid of the fire. She turned around, swiping a lock of sooty blue hair behind her ear.
ShiShi was standing there, completely astounded. The fire extinguisher had fallen to the ground in the dirty blonde's disbelief, and her jaw had dropped a lot.
"Uh...did I help?" Koneko asked.
"Yes. Yes you did." ShiShi nodded, still shocked.
Koneko grinned. "Anything else on fire?"
ShiShi snapped out of her shock, realizing that there were, in fact, still fires in the school. "Yeah, the bathrooms are currently ablaze."
Koneko sighed. "Alright. Time to kick some pipes around."
ShiShi and Koneko grinned at each other, and ran to the fiery bathrooms.
