***THIRD POV***
"Dammit, I was so close," a woman with shoulder-length white hair and blue-grey eyes growls slightly as she leans against a large pine tree, only to hiss in pain when she realizes her mistake too late.
She pulls away from the tree and glances down at the gash running horizontally across the upper part of her right arm. It's not the only wound on her body. Several cuts are scattered across her face along with more running down her arms. Hastily-wrapped bandages cover the wounds on both of her hands while another is tied around her left knee. Her once-white shirt is now stained red and nearly ripped to pieces while there are many tears in her jeans. Tearing another strip from her shirt, the woman quickly wraps it around her wound, pulling the make-shift bandage tighter with the help of her teeth. Once done, she quickly looks around while trying to quiet the thundering of her heart and the roaring in her ears.
"This wasn't supposed to happen," she growls as she starts walking off in a random direction.
She barely makes it a few feet before she feels a sudden wave of dizziness hit her, and she finds herself falling to the ground.
"Dammit," she hisses as she braces her arms against the ground to push herself up, but all the pain, physical and emotional, she's felt, as well as the injuries she's gained have caught up with her, and she finds her arms giving out as she hits the ground again.
"The scent's getting stronger," a voice speaks in the distance. "We're getting closer to her."
The woman should be worried by the faint sound of running feet coming towards her, but she just laughs bitterly as she turns her head to face the direction of those approaching her. A few moments pass before she finds three men standing before her with the hood of their grey cloaks up.
"Looks like the chase is over," the man in the middle hisses, baring his fangs as he steps forward and glares down with black eyes at the woman. "And here I thought you'd be more of a challenge."
A swift kick from the man sends the woman rolling, accompanied by the sounds of broken ribs. The man chuckles darkly before motioning to his two associates. In a blink, they're both on each side of the woman, holding her up by her arms as her head drops down to hit her chest. The leader of the three steps forward and roughly grabs the woman by her hair, forcing her to look at him.
"Anything you want to say before I kill you and take your head back to show Lord Aro?" he asks with a smirk.
"Two things actually," the woman smirks, a stream of blood falling from the side of her mouth. "First, if you think I'm scared of dying, you're dead wrong. Heh, no pun intended. I'm perfectly fine with it because I have nothing left to lose." The man frowns, but she doesn't let him speak. "This war has taken everything I care about from me. And since I'm going to die, I'm glad I took down a shit-load of your army before I go."
The two holding her up snarl, but the man silences them with a gesture.
"And the second thing?" he asks with a scowl.
"Oh yeah," she smirks before spitting blood right in his face. "Go to Hell."
The man snarls as he pulls his arm back to punch the woman, but a roar makes him falter before he is tackled by a large, black blur. The woman forces herself to look up to see a giant, pure-black panther dismember the vampire before it turns its sight on the other two. One of the vampires lets go and rushes to attack the panther, but is stopped before he can even reach the creature by an incredibly large grizzly bear. The vampire stands no chance and is swiftly incapacitated by the enraged grizzly, leaving the one last vampire that is still holding the women, but not even he can react before he is attacked from behind by more, though slightly smaller, grizzlies. The woman falls forward from the loss of support, but is quickly caught before she hits the ground. Forcing herself to look up, she sees the woman keeping her from falling has very-dark skin and black hair, but her light-blue eyes stare back at her in concern.
"You should've let them kill me," the injured woman mutters before she passes out.
