Chapter 9

Entering through the door, everyone saw there was a village up ahead. "Let's move." Chris ordered and they all headed towards the village. Not knowing that they were being watched from all directions by infected villagers. "This village is big, so we better search around for any clues on where Natasha is." Jill said as everyone nodded. Billy noticed that there was a man on the ground not that far from them. "Carlos, look." He said as he pointed to the man. Carlos looked in the direction where Billy was pointing and his eyes went wide. "We better check him out." He said to him. Nodding, they both jogged over towards the man. Carlos noticed that there were holes in the ground; he knew it was a trap. "Billy!" he yelled out getting everyone's attention. Billy turned to him, but to only dodge out the way as spikes suddenly popped out of the ground in front of him, blocking his way out. "Shit." He cursed when he was now surrounded by villagers with bows and arrows that explode. "Billy! What's happening!?" Rebecca asked as she and the others ran over to help. Billy had to dodge as the arrows were fired at him. Carlos ran around towards some stairs, Leon followed him. "Hey, assholes!" Carlos called out to get their attention. The majini turned to him and aimed their bows at him, but Leon and Carlos were quicker, they fired at the majini, some fell off the edge to the ground below where Billy was. Billy finished them off by firing at their heads. Some of the villagers were holding their aching body, giving Leon and Carlos the opportunity to take them out.

As soon as they took out the majini, the spikes that blocked Billy off from the others went back under the ground, letting him get passed. Rebecca smiled and ran to him and hugged him. "Are you alright, Billy?" she asked him. Billy hugged her back. "I'm fine, doll face. No need to worry." He said as he then kissed her on the lips. The others smiled at them. "You know, if you guys want to be alone, you have to wait when we get back home." Claire said which got Rebecca o blush. "Oh, shut up." She said which got them all to laugh, but stopped when they heard a call. "What was that?" sherry asked as she looked around. "From the sounds of it, it sounded like a war call." Steve replied to her question as he then noticed a big villager with a huge weapon right behind Sherry. "Sherry!" he yelled out as the giant majini raised the weapon and was about to bring it down on Sherry. In slow motion, Sherry turned her head to face the giant majini with wide eyes. Claire and Leon with scared looks they both reached out their hands to her. "Sherry!" they cried out scared for their adopted daughter's life. Steve grabbed Sherry by the waist and rolled them away as the weapon came down on the spot Sherry was. "Gah!" the villager let out another war call, getting more majini to appear from all directions.

Up on a hut, the masked bird watched them as they ran from the majini, she knew that they were close on getting to Irving. She had to make sure that they don't get to him, but how? She then smirked as she remembered that to get to the oil field they will have to get pass the crocodile swamp, she can get rid of them that way, and the crocodiles can have some living food. Since they haven't been fed in a while, those crocs must be starving. She chuckled as she watched the S.T.A.S.R.S as they managed to take down the Giant Majini, but only to see another one turn up looking angry as ever. "Let's see if you can get out of this one. You may have managed to kill one of the Giant Majini, let's see if you can handle another one and a whole group of sodibaya." She said as she then turned around and ran on the roof and jumped off it and headed towards the swamp to wait for them.

Things were getting even worse for the S.T.A.R.S. more and more majini kept coming. "There's too many!"Claire yelled out as the giant majini tried to hit her, but she dodged out the way. "Claire, you and the girls get away from here! Find anything to get that bridge up! It's our only way out of here." Chris said as he did a straight punch to a couple of majini away. Claire nodded, she grabbed Sherry and they both ran from the majini. Jill, Rebecca and Sheva followed them. They let the guys take care of the majini since they have more muscle than them. Sherry noticed that there was a crank, she ran to it, but dodged out the way as a majini tried to hit her. "Man, this never ends." She said as she fired at the majini, getting it in its head. Claire grabbed the majini from behind and grabbed her knife; she then cut the majini's throat, killing him. "Where are they coming from?" she asked as she stared down at the dead majini. "From everywhere! We have to get that bridge down!" Sheva said as she noticed that the guys are having trouble. "Ok. I'll turn the crank." Sherry said as she grabbed the crank and stared to turn it. The bridge started to roll up, getting the guys attention. "They did it!" Leon said as he kicked one of the majini away from him. "Let's move." Chris said as he and the others quickly ran over the down bridge. Billy and Carlos fired at the majini that kept on coming. "These guys are getting on my nerves." Carlos said as he grabbed a grenade from his pocket and pulled out the pin and threw it at the majini. The grenade then exploded, killing the majini, but also causing some of the majini's head to reveal the plaga. "Shit!" Carlos cursed out. "Carlos, come on, just leave them!" Billy yelled out as he grabbed Carlos' arm and they both ran over the bridge. Sherry then released her grip on the crank, which caused the bridge to go down, and also the majini that were on the bridge. Sherry smirked at that, but then gasped when she noticed some of the majini heading towards us. "Guys, hurry up!" she called out as she and the girls aimed their guns at the majini that approach.

The guys heard Sherry's yell and ran up the stairs towards a door, they noticed the girls firing their guns at the majini that approached them. Steve ran to the door, grabbed the bar that blocked the girls' escape and then opened the door and fired at the majini, letting the girls have a chance to get away. The girls quickly ran through the door and Steve closed it and put the bar back on to block the majini from following them. "That was close." He said as he nodded to the others. "Let's just move on, before they get that bridge up and continue to come after us." Jill said as she and the girls all moved away from the door as it was banged on. "Yeah, .let's move." Chris agreed and they quickly jogged down the path. Leon noticed that there was a lift at the end of the path. "Maybe we can use that to get out if here." He said as he pointed to it so the others can see. Nodding, everyone ran to it as they heard the bridge being rolled up again. "Damn! Hurry!" billy yelled out as everyone got in the lift. Rebecca pressed the button and the lift started to move downwards to unknown location.

At the swamp, the masked bird waited for the S.T.A.R.S. to come, she didn't know if they had escaped or what, she just wanted to get back to the facility. "They sure take their sweet time." She mumbled as she noticed that the majini around the swamp were talking to each other. "Fools, the lot of you." She mumbled out as she then turned her attention to her target. "This will be fun." She said as she watched them walk around. Chuckling, she jumped down in front of them. "Ten people and none of you have died yet. You sure know how to stay alive, don't you?" she asked them. "Who are you?" Chris asked her as everyone aimed their guns at her. The masked bird let out a chuckle. "Someone, you will never know." she said as she then back flipped away as majini appeared and went after them. "Let's see if you can get out of this one. I'll be very impressed if you did. Have fun." She said as she turned around and then jumped on the bridge and then over to the other side. "Hey, wait!" Carlos called out. The masked bird turned to him and smirked. "Later." She said as she then turned back around and walked through the tunnel.

Everyone stared as she left. "So that's Irving's partner." Sheva said as she fired at the approaching majini. "Yeah, but I couldn't see her face." Rebecca said as she fired at one of the majini that leaped at them, the majini fell into the water only to be attacked by a crocodile. Rebecca's eyes went wide. "There are crocodiles in the water!" she gasped out. Everyone looked at the water and saw she was right. "Holy shit. Not more of these guys. I hate crocs." Carlos mumbled out as he glared at the croc. The croc had eaten the majini very quickly. It sure was hungry. "Either we go after her or get ourselves eaten." Jill said as she jumped over the gap. "But we have to draw down the bridge to go after her." Claire said as she followed Jill. "I can see a crank down there. We turn it and it may draw down the bridge." Jill said as she pointed to the crank. Chris nodded to Leon. "Cover me." He said. Leon nodded and fired at the majini with Steve's help. Chris went towards the crank and noticed that there was rope attached to it, he followed the rope and noticed that it was attached to a raft. "Jill, honey, I don't think the crank is for the bridge, but for that raft." He said to her. Jill looked at the crank, then the raft and then back at the crank, she nodded. "Right, so who will take the raft?" she asked. Rebecca came over to Chris. "Get on the raft and I'll turn the crank." She said to him. Chris nodded and then climbed up the ladder. Majini were there waiting for him, but gunshots came taking them out, he turned to see his little sister with a rifle. He nodded to her with a smile and headed towards the raft.

He checked to see if there were any crocs near the raft, not seeing any, he jumped onto the raft. Rebecca nodded and started to turn the crank "I'll handle it. Be careful on that thing." She said as she continued to turn the crank. Everyone watched Chris since they had successfully taking out the majini, some of them were exhausted and wished that they can just find Natasha now and go on home. Steve rested against the bridge, he was tired of this shit, he really wished he was at home; he turned his attention to the water as he heard a little splash, and his eyes went wide on seeing a croc next to the raft. "Look out!" he yelled out to Chris. Chris' eyes went wide; he then dodged out the way as the croc leaped out at him with its jaws opened. Everyone gasped at how close the croc was. "Chris!" Claire cried out for her brother. Chris nodded to her. "I'm fine, keep on turning that crank, Rebecca!" he yelled to her. Rebecca nodded and continued to turn the crank. Chris had to dodge about three more times until he reached a gap. He quickly got off the raft and took in deep breaths; he really didn't like this mission at all. "Chris, you ok?" Jill asked him. Chris stood up and gave them the thumbs up; he was fine, but tired. Chris then kicked a button which got the bridge to draw down. "Alright! Way to go, chris!" leon said as he and the others cheered. "Finally, we can get away from the crocs!" Carlos cheered which everyone laughed/chuckle/giggled to. Carlos really hates crocodiles. Chris unbarred the door and quickly catches up with the others. "Let's move. I don't want to stay here any longer." He said as they went through the cave.

There you go ppl, that's another chapter done, sorry i took a little long, me dad was always on the internet so i didn't have that much chance on it, well, now i do. If you can noticed, i have put in some different things like in the village where the masked bird is watching them and the swamp meeting up with the masked bird, i just thought it'll be a little more exciting. ill be putting up the next chapter on 2day i'm started it now so chapter 10 will be up in about an hour or 2, hope you look forward to it, they are in the oil fields and meeting up with josh, please review
