Chapter 9 The Battle Part 1

(Itachi's POV)

Once we were packed and ready to start the mission we all met at the gates ready to start our mission.

"Are you ready to depart," I asked taking note of the others.

"Hai,"

"Then let's go,"

At my word the group dispersed. Jumping from branch to branch we made our way to the hideout. I kept a close eye on Sakura hoping that nothing would pop up on her.

Flashback

"The hide out is said to be about 2 days away,"

"I've gotten word from one of my informants that Orochimaru's hideout is hidden in an underground area in the Village hidden in the Sound. I've gotten coordinates to his hideout and all openings to the hideout," I stated.

"Alright, Itachi what are your orders,"

"Orders are simple take Kaoru back and dispose of anyone that gets in our way, even Orochimaru,"

End of Flashback

It had already been a while since we took off and it was getting dark. I signaled everyone to take a break before jumping off the branch. Everyone fell besides me as we set our perimeters.

"We shall set camp for now I shall take the first watch Sasuke, Kakashi, Naruto scout for any traces of any sound ninjas," I ordered.

Sakura and Shisui set camp while I started to sort out the different areas on the layout of Orochimaru's hideout.

"Itachi," I heard her whisper.

"Yes….Sakura,"

"I will be the one to get Kaoru, everyone else must take care of the other sound ninjas," she ordered.

"I cannot allow you to do that Sakura you are the medic in the team and we need to protect you from any danger,"

"Listen here Uchiha, Kaoru is not any other person he is my son and is very important no one not even you will stop me from getting him back," she glared poking my chest with her index finger.

"The others will not allow you to go off on your own,"

"Then you go with me,"

"Sakura I need to go after Orochimaru,"

"Then I will go after Kabuto and get Kaoru," she glared.

"Shisui will be the one to go after Kabuto,"

"No I will deal with Kabuto, I know all his weaknesses and skills," she said annoyed.

"Alright then you will take on Kabuto, but remember you must not be injured at all cost we need you in top shape just in case any of us are in need of your medical specialties,"

"I know…I will do my best, I have to meditate, can you keep watch for me please," she asked getting up.

"Hm…the others will be around, I will make sure that you are safe,"

I watched as she sat under a tree and closed her eyes. I watched as she chanted some unknown language. I could feel her chakra slowly increase with every spoken word. I kept my eyes on her as everyone else continued to set up camp.

"What is Sakura-chan doing?"

"She is preparing for battle…we must talk about our battle plan,''

"Itachi what is our strategy,"

"Sakura is to go after Kabuto and Kaoru mostly because of her previous battles with him, I shall go after Orochimaru and the rest shall fight off any sound ninjas that get in our way," I ordered.

"Huh? That's all…ugh alright then we should be at the hideout by tomorrow evening," Nara commented.

"Hey Shikamaru have you already sent out word to the Hokage of our whereabouts,"

"Hm, troublesome but yeah I have already sent out word,"

"It's getting late I shall take first watch, we set out early tomorrow morning,"

I watched as they all dispersed to their tents. I walked up to Sakura's body and moved a strand of her hair to the side. I could feel her chakra increase as a clone appeared next to her. I watched as the clone open her eyes to reveal violet blue colored orbs. I stared confused before the original Sakura opened her eyes. Once Sakura was awake the clone's eyes reverted back to emerald.

"Itachi," I heard her mumble.

"Sakura, why did your clone have different colored eyes," I asked confused.

"Hehehe…it's a secret," she smiled cheekily her index finger on her lips and right eye closed.

"I am guessing that you will not be telling me any time soon," I sighed as I stood back up.

"Nope,"

"Will you at least explain why you have created a clone?"

"My clone will stay away from the battle and will take care of any medical issues…She will make sure that you guys stay safe from any poison,"

"Hn…just be careful,"

"Don't worry about it if it will make you feel any better I promise to not get hurt and also if I get badly injured I will do whatever you say for the next month," she smiled.

"I accept your promise,"
