And it is here. Chapter 2!

Neku finally got his candle lit, and he looked up at Beat, Joshua, and Shiki. They seemed nervous except for Joshua, who was smirking.

"So do we just wander around?" Neku asked, he felt a little bored but hearing that they invited some kind of monster in his own house ignited the fear inside of him. Suddenly, anger for Joshua swelled inside of him. It was his idea to invite a demon in my house, and I let him!

"No, we just stay here and let ourselves get killed by a demon." He said sarcastically. Neku sent him a scowl, and made his way to the living room. He didn't like the fact that Shiki played, nor the fact that Joshua was under the same roof as him. This could only lead to disaster.

All the lights were turned off, and Neku had 5 packets of salt in his pocket and 3 matches. They were so low on materials that it seemed like Shiki didn't get much, and that worried Neku deeply. Joshua didn't seem to have anything either but he has freaking composer powers which wasn't really fair. Neku's eyes darted across the room, searching for shadows that were suspicious. Looking against a wall a large shadow was cast, and Neku stopped, staring at it.

"Whatcha lookin at yo?" Beat asked, giving Neku a weird look. Apparently, his candle was behind Neku thus casting his own shadow. Neku gave a sigh of relief.

"Nothing." He answered, warily looking across the walls. His eyes wandered over to Shiki, who was going to another room. Neku's feet were already going, catching up to her.

As they entered the new room, Shiki turned around. "Did you see anything?" Shiki asked. Neku shook his head.

"No, but I-" He stopped as Shiki's candle suddenly went out. Fear struck Neku as he quickly rummaged through his pockets for a match, he lit it and Shiki handed her candle over to Neku for him to light again.

Just in time.

Shiki's face was pale, and her hands were shaking. She looked around the room to see any figures that might be mysteriously looming around the room.

"That was scary, huh Neku?" Shiki asked, trying to make herself feel better.

"Yeah…" He answered, still staying by her side. Looking back to the room he was once in, darkness reached all the way across. It looked like Beat and Joshua made it somewhere else.

Rhyme sat on the bed, which happens to be Neku's parent's bed. The lights were on and everything seemed pretty safe. A TV hung against the wall and she moved her hand and accidentally swiped it across a remote, turning the TV on. Loud noises were coming from it, and she quickly grabbed the remote. Her panicky fingers pressed the buttons hoping to calm the noises coming from the blasted television.

She found the mute button, and stared at the screen. She located the volume button and pressed down once, and the sound came back on, still loud, but only a little quieter. She kept mashing the button making sure it was very silent. The TV showed some kind of reality show, and Rhyme couldn't think of anything better to do then watch. And that's just what she did.

Although her mind did wander, thinking about her friends, knowing that the Midnight Game is serious play.

Beat walked wearily down a hallway, clutching his candle. He started to slowly walk up the stairs were Rhyme was, only to stop at the door were she was at. It was quiet, and he looked around to see any shadows.

A loud noise from the room blasted, and almost shook the door, making Beat jump and drop his candle. "BWAAHHHH!" he yelled. He realized what happened and he looked at the candle that dropped to the floor. It started to roll and the flame went out. Oh shit! He crouched down in the dark moving his hands across the floor looking for the candle. When he found it he quickly stood up and used his match to re-light it, but the match wouldn't light. Eventually that match was no good so he used another one, his last one. He ignited it and gave a sigh of relief, although he still didn't feel quite relieved. Shadows still made him wary, but looking at his own shadow, he noticed he had two. What the fuck…?

Suddenly, fear struck him. There was no way this candle could cast two shadows. He quickly took the salt packet from his pocket and made a circle, and closed his eyes. When he opened them the shadow was gone. That's some trippy shit yo…
