AN: So, I see you guys agreed with the unbeta-ed chapter idea. Here it is the next chapter that isn't really the next chapter, it's just the first part because the chapter is way longer than this, but I thought about posting this little part so you guys could see about the English thing. If not, don't worry, I will fiz this part of the chapter and post the other part beta-ed.
AN2: I know this is the third chapter I post this week, don't get really used to it, it was just that this week I had a little free time but the next I won't have as much time, I just started my first year of college and already have a Latin exam next week. Pray for me lol
General POV:
The moon was already high in the sky as the brunete kept pacing back and forth in her room. Not even two hours ago she had had some serious conversation with her best friend. Conversation that developed in her the courage to go and call the blonde that has been catching her attention lately.
Courage that died as soon as she touched her phone.
When she arrived at home, she threw her purse away – but not before getting her phone - and let herself fall on the couch. She kept staring at the device's screen for quite long time, thinking if it was the best thing to do.
She found Arizona's number on her contact list and kept staring at the number... "Should I, or should I not?" She kept asking herself.
Coming to the conclusion she wouldn't be able to make a wise decision at that moment, she got her stuff and went to take a shower. After her bed, the shower is where she thinks the most. About everything and anything.
As the water rushed down her body, the stress seemed to dissipate. But the doubt about calling or not was still there.
"Only two things can happen if I call." She thought. "One, she will pick it up and give me a yes. Or two, she won't pick up."
But say yes? Say yes to what? What if she says no?
When she decided she would call the blonde girl, she didn't give it a second thought. If she called and Arizona picked it up, what would she say? She had no idea.
That was another reason why she had so many doubts in her mind.
After her shower, she changed to her comfy pajamas and sat on her bed, once again staring at her phone. Which didn't took so long, since she was now up, pacing back and forth with her mind going a mile a hour.
"What would Mark say if he was here?" She wondered. "Okay Torres, stop thinking about Mark, start thinking like yourself, just get the phone and call."
She picked up her phone from her bed side table and stared at it for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and pressing "dial".
It took one... two... three rings before someone picked it up.
"Hello."
"Um, hi... Arizona?" Callie asked a little confused, that didn't sound like Arizona.
"Yes, it's Arizona's phone. Who is it?" Clara asked but deep inside she had an idea of who it could be. She had had a talk with her friend too, a friend that she would do anything to make her happy.
"It's Callie Torres... may I talk to her?"
"Oh, Callie Torres." She confirmed to her friend who was by herside, dying to know who it was.
When Arizona heard Callie's name, she felt her heart speed up. She had made this promise to herself that she would stay away from the woman as much as she could. She thought it would be better for the both of them. But who is she trying to fool?
"Don't!" Arizona whispered to her friend. "Tell her I'm in the shower."
"Are you sure?" Clara asked with her hand blocking the speakerphone so the Latina couldn't hear what's being said. The blonde just nodded.
"Are you still there?" Callie asked.
"Um, yeah... yeah, I'm here." Clara said. "I'm sorry but she can't pick up right now, she's um... she's in the shower. Do you wanna leave a message?"
Callie felt her heart break a little, of course something like this could happen. Arizona has a life outside work... she said she already had plans for tonight so – "Wait... plans? And now there's a woman picking up her phone? She's on a date!" Callie came to the conclusion and suddenly felt a little stupid.
"Um.. no, thanks." She said before hanging up.
"What did she say? Did she leave a message?" The blonde asked with expectative.
"No, she just hung up." Clara answered. She saw her friends face fall. "Are you sure this is the best to do? I know it was my idea but I was trying to help you, you know I care about you, I didn't want to see you sad or anything, but right now, what your face tells me? It tells me that this idea is just hurting you even more."
"What do you think she wanted?" Arizona asked with a low voice as she took a seat on the couch next to her friend.
"I don't know, it could be about work, or to ask if she did something wrong because you started giving her the cold feet... it could be anything."
"How did she sound?"
"At first she sounded a little nervous but before she hung up she sounded a little... embarrassed."
"Embarrassed?" Arizona asked not getting why Callie would sound embarrassed.
"Yeah." Was all that Clara replied. "What are you going to do? Keep going with your plan?"
"I have no idea." She replied letting out a long deep breath.
Meanwhile, at the other side of the story, Callie was once again pacing back and forth in her room, but this time for another reason.
"Stúpida, stúpida!" She kept telling herself.
After she hang up, she kept asking herself what's the matter with her. Arizona was avoiding her all day and told her she had plans. How couldn't she get it?
"Maybe she thought I had a thing for her and that's her way of saying she's not aviable." She thought.
Before she could punch herself more in the head she heard her phone vibrate.
So, did you call her? – M
I did. – C She replied right away.
How was it? – M
It was the most stupid decision I've made in my life. – C
What? – M
