AN: Hello everyone! Here's the next chapter, I hope you like it.

Flashback - General Pov:

Sitting on the porch of his big house a little boy with light brown hair watches as the Torres sibilings play in their garden. He laughs when the smaller one brings the taller one to the ground by jumping on her back. His laugh doesn't go unnoticed by the brunette girls.

"What are you laughing at?" The taller one asks as she gets up and brushes off the dust from her clothes.

"She knocked you off to the ground pretty easily, you should've seen your face." He says, getting up from his not so comfortable seat on the floor, crossing the street and getting closer to the fence so that he could watch the girls a little more closely.

"That was luck, she isn't even that strong." Aria says, trying to not make a big deal out of it.

"Hey, I am strong. Javi said I'm the strongest five years old there is." Callie protests.

"You're not five anymore, Callie." Aria corrects her.

"But I'm still strong." She says whipping her tongue out to bother her sister.

"Whatever." Aria says.

It's already been a year since Javier left, Callie was six years old. Her sixth birthday was a month after her brother left, and it had been the hardest time for her to not have him around. He would call every once in a while but she missed him. Talking to him through the phone was nothing compared to a hug.

"What's your name?" Callie asks the boy.

"I'm Mark, I live right across the street." He introduces himself, pointing to the big white house behind him with his thumb.

"Nice to meet you, Mark." She says with a smile. "I'm Callie and this is my sister Aria."

"Hi." Aria says. "And her name isn't Callie, it's Calliope."

"Aria!" Callie says with a little of embarrassment, she always hated that name. The only ones she allowed to call her like that were her father and her brother.

"It's a beautiful name." Mark says, trying to hold his laugh. He saw that the girl didn't like it and he had to understand... if he had a name like that he would never forgive his mom.

"It is not. And stop pretending you think it is." She says, noticing the lie as soon as it came out from the boy's mouth.

"Callie we have to go inside, I have some homework to do."

"But I already did mine, why do I have to go inside?" She whined.

"Because dad would kill me if he finds out I let you alone playing in the garden."

"I'm not alone, Mark is here." She says turning to him. "Do you wanna play with me?"

"Sure. I just have to let my mom know I'm here but yeah..." He says as he takes off running to his house and comes back not a minute later. "She said I can play here as long as I go back in time for dinner."

"See?" Callie says now facing her sister. "I won't be alone."

Aria hesitated for a while but soon agreed to let her play a little more. It had been hard work to take the girl out of her room. She'd lock herself in there the whole day, only come downstairs for the meals or when their father wanted to spend sometime with them either watching a movie or playing some stupid chess game. "Okay, but you have to be back inside for dinner too. Deal?"

"Deal." Callie says, giving her sister a hug.

"Alright, what do you wanna play?" Mark asks as Aria leaves.

"We can play hide and seek. I always played it with my brother."

"You have a brother?" He asks.

"Yes, but he doesn't live here anymore... but I wish he did though, I miss him." She says with sadness.

"Hey, don't be sad." He gives her a pat on the shoulder. "I'm sure he'll come visit you soon."

"I don't think so... daddy said he moved out to another country."

"Oh... I'm sorry, Callie." He says with sincerity. There was something about this girl that made him feel different. He didn't have many friends in this neighborhood and he never felt like making friends with any of the boys he met at school... but she was different.

"I'm sorry too... I miss him." She says, taking a deep breath.

"You know what?" He says with an excited voice. "I'll be your brother."

"What?" She asks laughing. "You can't be my brother, I just met you... and you're not my father or my mother's son." She explains.

"Sibilings aren't reletated only by blood. They're related by friendship too."

"So you'll be my friend-brother?" She asks furrowing her brow.

"Yes... if you want me to." He says giving her a smile.

"Humm... okay, we can see if that works."

"Cool... but you better run and hide before I get to thirty!" He says, running to the nearest wall to start counting.

"Hey, that's cheating!" Callie yelled and she took off to find the safest place to hide.

If only she knew then that this friend-brother thing would last for a lifetime...

Arizona's POV:

"And that's pretty much how we met." He finishes, taking a sip from his cup of coffee.

Lunch had been a little uncomfortable. Callie's brother's text messed with her more than I thought. She was quiet the whole time, only nodding if someone asked her something. I could see in her eyes that there were a thousand things running through her mind right now, and it was driving her crazy.

To try and lighten the mood Mark decided to tell me stories of him and Callie from when they were kids. Not that I thought it would help since when he met her she wasn't in a good place, still missing her brother. I thought it would upset her even more... but once again I was surprised, for the first time since the text I saw a smile forming in the corner of her beautiful mouth.

"That was a good day." She said. "I never thought it would last for so long."

"Neither did I." He replied with a laugh. "We used to fight a lot. Over stupid things like what movie we would watch or who would have their first kiss first."

"Come on, that was our first big fight." She laughs.

"Yes, it was. I remember we even made a bet."

"And who won?" I ask, trying to get into the conversation.

I could see the blush that was forming in Callie's face, she looked everywhere but not at me. Mark gave an awkward cough... or was that a real cough?

"Neither one of us." He finally said. "My first kiss was with her... and vice versa."

"Oh..." I say a little surprised. That was not what I was expecting.

"And also our first time... you know... with someone... it was with each other too."

"Mark!" Callie said, kicking him under the table.

"Ow! That hurt Torres!" He yelps.

"You... slept together?!" I ask, furrowing my brows... that was something that I really didn't want to know.

"Yes." Callie replies fast. "But it was so many years ago and it wasn't even that good. I mean, I had to do it with someone one day and we were in that phase where you think you're in love with your best friend and it happened. But it meant nothing, I swear!" She said in a rush, barely taking a pause to send her lungs some air.

"What do you mean it wasn't that good? You told me it had been ama- ow!" She kicked him again.

"Shut up." She said between her teeth. "Arizona..." She said looking at me.

"No, I... it's... it's okay." I say, still a little shocked.

"Then why do you have that look on your face?"

"Well, it's not easy to find out you're having lunch with your girlfriend's first... person." I say. I couldn't control my mind and started picturing the two of them younger in bed, and it was making me nauseous. "Are we done with lunch yet? I suddenly lost my appetite."

"Yeah, sure." Callie says as she waves to the waiter and asks him for our bill. I can see her turning on her seat and giving Mark an evil glare as she mouths "I'm going to kill you." He just shrungs his shoulders.

"Where's Jackson?" I ask, finally realizing there's someone missing at our table.

"He's back there talking to a friend of his. He said we don't need to worry about him. Where were you that you didn't notice him leave?" Mark asks.

"I was paying attention to your story that I didn't even realize."

"Oh... okay."

"Are you leaving town tonight?" Callie asks him, that look of hurt once again on her face.

"Yes, I have to go to a meeting in New York. But I'll be back on the weekend."

"Oh..." She says with a disappointed look. "Do you have to leave now?"

"No, later tonight."

"Can you come back with us... I need to..." She didn't need to finish the sentence for him to understand.

"Of course I can."

After a fifiteen minute walk we are back at Callie's office. She is sitting on the couch beside me with her head on my shoulder and my hands upon hers, Mark is sitting at a comfy chair across from us, just waiting for her to begin.

"I'll give you guys some space." I say as I attempt to get up, but her grip on my hands get firmer.

"No, I want you to stay." She says with a soft voice. "Please..."

I look at her for a few seconds. She looks so different from what I'm used to seeing. Her signature warm brown eyes have a little cold in them. Not from anger or angst... it's from sadness... and that breaks my heart.

"Of course I'll stay."

I can see Mark watching the two of us. He doesn't have the smirk that he usually has, he has a look of compassion and maybe a little happiness. I can see he's happy there's another person taking care of his friend... his sister. And that's something I'm planning on doing for a as long as she allows me.

"So..." Mark says, breaking the silence that had filled the room.

"What do I do?" She asks. "I'm so confused and lost and... I don't know where to go from here. It's been so many years."

"Deep inside of you you know the answer, Callie. Do you want to talk to him?"

"No... I mean, yes... no. Oh God, I don't know."

"There must be a reason why he is here, sweetie." I say. "Maybe he needs help."

"I know and that's what makes me mad at him. Why didn't he come before? He's here now because he needs me... because he needs something. How about when I needed him? All those days I spent in my room crying because he wouldn't call. All the fights I had with my father, denying the idea of my brother being dead. Fighting Aria about it... I fought with everyone because of him. But there was a point where I started to believe he was dead... or at least I thought it was easier than thinking he had abandoned me. It hurt but it didn't hurt as much as the idea of being left behind by my own brother. I loved him so much and it hurt. Mark was there, he knew how I felt. He supported was my brother... but Javi? He didn't even call to let me know he was alive or to know if I was fine." I just watch her as she speaks, with her eyes full of tears that she was trying hard to keep at bay. "I looked for him when I got older... but there was no sign of him. No address, no phone number... nothing. I even got an investigator to look for him, I thought that maybe he would be luckier than me after all this is what he does for a living, right? But not even he was able to find my brother."

"I know how much you've been through, Cals. I wish I could've done more to help you, but all I could do was be there and give you a shoulder when you needed to cry." Mark says with sadness in his voice.

"You did all you could, Mark. Don't beat yourself up... I don't even know if I'd be able to be where I am today if it wasn't for you. You were my brother... you were by my side all the time. You helped me look for him and you were there when I fell apart because I wasn't successful... and that's something I'll never be able to thank you enough for."

"You don't have to thank me, I told you I was going to be your brother and take care of you and I did it. And you were...are the best sister I could've asked for."

"Thank you." She stands up from her seat and he does the same, she wraps her arms around him in a tight hug and lets herself fall. The room that was silent a few minutes ago is now filled up with the sobs coming from the woman I found myself in love with. "I love you." She says in a whisper but one that made it possible for me to hear.

"I love you too." He said back to her. "But you don't have to worry, Blondie." He said looking at me. "She's all yours." He sent me a wink which I replied with a smile.

"Now..." He started, taking his seat back. "I don't know what to say to you, Cals... if you want to see him or not, that's your decision... but I'll support you on whatever you decide."

"What do you think I should do?" She asks turning to me, her brown eyes desperate for an answer.

"Callie, I don't know if I should have na opinion in this I-"

"Of course you should, we're in a relationship... I care about what you think... and that doesn't count only for business."

"Well... I... I would give him a chance to talk." I say.

"You really think so?" She asks.

"Callie, look... he must have his reasons, even if they don't please you. I think you should listen. If I had the chance to talk to my brother again, I would do it." I answer her with sincerity. When my brother died I felt like my world had come crashing down on my head. If I had the chance to see him again... I would take it with no doubts.

"You have a brother?" Mark asks with curiosity.

"I had." I say, clearing my throat. "He died."

"Oh, I'm really sorry, Arizona." Callie says with a friendly voice.

"It's okay... It was many years ago, I'm done grieving." I reply. "Anyways, yes... I think you should talk to him. But like Mark said, it's your decision and I'll support you no matter what you decide."

"I'll give the idea some thought." She says getting up from her place and starting to get her things. "So many things happened today and I'm not feeling really well.I'm just gonna... I'm done for today."

"Well, I have a plane to catch." Mark says, getting up from his seat and also getting his stuff. "Will you be okay?" He asks her.

"Yes, Mark. Thank you."

"You're welcome." He says placing a kiss to her forehead. "As always, it was nice to see you again, Blondie."

"Nice to see you again too, Mark."

"Take care of our girl, okay?" He asks sending me a wink. "See you when I come back." He gives Callie one last hug and leaves.

"What?" She asks as she turns around and sees that I'm staring at her.

"He really takes care of you."

"He does." She says with a smile. "I hope you didn't take what we talked about earlier so serious, I mean-"

"Callie it's fine... it was a long time ago." I say approaching her. "The only thing that bothers me is that... he's seen you naked." I say furrowing my brow.

"Well, as far as I'm concerned, Clara has seen you naked too and that doesn't please me at all."

"Touché!" I play, placing a soft kiss on her plump lips. "I still have some work to do, and unlike you, I'm not the boss so I have to finish it."

"You can go home... or better, you can come home with me." She says with a smirk.

"As much as I like the sound of that I can't, I really have some work to do that I can't let accumulate." Her little pout makes me laugh. "You go home and get some rest, when I'm done here I'll call you and if you're up for it... I'd like to take you to dinner."

"I'd love to." She says wrapping me in her arms. "I'll miss you."

"Getting a little mushy there?"

"Ow, you're such a mood killer."

"Sorry." I say laughing.

"Anyway, let me go before I start kissing you again. See you later." She says placing a last quick kiss on my lips.

"See you."

Hopefully this day will end better than it started.

AN2: That's it for now, I hope you liked learning more about Callie and Mark's friendship and how important he was when they were younger. This chapter was what we could call a filler for what's coming up next. I think you'll like the 15th. I'll update when I can and please, let me know what you think, reviews mean a lot to us, fanfiction writers, it's what keep us going.
