*Ahem*
I apologize for the lengthy delay since the last chapter. After a bizarre panda incident, there has been a grueling recovery process that left me unable to brilliantly and eloquently narrate this grand story.
Also, I, the narrator have a confession to make. There is something I have withheld from you. Something I have intentionally tried to deceive you in. Something that might change your entire way of looking at this story. And that is why I specifically concealed it from you. But the funny thing is, deep down in your subconscious you already know my secret. It is just something you would not rationally think of.
You see, I, the narrator, have become a running theme in this parable. You know me as a narcissistic passive aggressive self-centered bastard who hates children and puppies. It is also a title I proudly wear.
...
However
There is something you don't know about me. Something that will surprise you in every sense of the word. But before I reveal my secret there is one other thing I wish to share to you.
The Fire Emblem Parable is true to its meaning of the word parable. It is a lesson, and I am your teacher. And as your teacher there is something I have been subtly been trying to show you, and that is:
How not to write a story.
In my own way, I have satirically criticized and made fun of the tired and old formulas to writing a story in the previous chapters. All of which would have been boring and unoriginal without my narration. In fact, my presence itself is the only real unique thing in this story.
In many cases, I don't even need to read more than the first chapter of a fanfiction to understand what will happen and what "twists" I might see.
And as a narrator is gets boring repeating the same thing over and over again. So I challenge those who are reading this to throw out the tired old formula that tells me that the good guy kills a random evil and uninspirational bad guy, and has sex with the main romance interest.
So believe it or not, there was a method to my madness is narrating this seven chapter parable. I wanted to narrate a grand story. A well thought out and new idea. One that would focus on the little things and bring more to the world than just fanservice.
Which leads me to my announcement and confession.
I have two roles to this story. One of which is to narrate my brilliance as you are well aware of. However, the other is to write this story. Because I:
...
Am the Author of this story.
...
That's right. I am both the narrator and the author of this story. There was never two separate personalities in my ramblings. Only a part of me that criticizes everything I do.
And as much as I hate to admit it. There is a narcissistic passive aggressive self-centered bastard somewhere inside of my heart (that likes puppies and children). I like to call him Validar. Though, I like to think it is a very small part of me. While the narrator may be apart of me, it is not who I am, and there is a number of other qualities I hold above and beyond this trait. Though, there is a reason I let him out this one time.
Because as the Author I have a duty to you. A duty to show you something new. A duty to bring you something that is worthy of your time, and a responsibility to give the best I possibly can.
Which is why I have one final parable to show you. It is a story about my favorite type of character. Someone I deeply respect, even though I don't know very much about this person.
So indulge me one last time as I introduce this character to you. And I sincerely hope you like who this person is too. Because this character has more power than any one us can ever imagine.
...
...
This is a story... about You.
And on this day something very peculiar happened. Something that could change your life forever. Something you were not expecting.
You had been reading a strange Fanfiction when all of a sudden you found yourself as the center of the story. Even now you are scrunching your eyes and are trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
…
It doesn't make sense. How could I, the author, who doesn't even know your name be able to tell a story about you? What would drive me to bring an Outside Character into this story?
...
Well, that is because this story has always been about you.
...
Believe it or not, but you are Chrom. You were born into a world you had no control of. You faced many trials and hardships, and that has made you strong.
You are Lissa. You love to enjoy yourself and hate to work. You care for those who you know and would do anything to heal a close friend when they are suffering.
You are Sumia. You make mistakes, and sometimes you wish that you were one of those characters inside of a book instead of yourself. Even though you have your own story that is being written with every passing second.
You are Stahl. Someone who looks very average in a world of billions of people. But also someone with a lot of potential.
You are Kellam. A ghost in a crowd, and invisible to those who don't take the time to know you. You want to be known, and it can be frustrating to be transparent. Though, there are those who are close to you who could spot you in a giant mob and they proudly call you a friend.
You are Lon'qu. Someone with their own desires and goals. Someone who wants to be the best and uses their rivals as fuel to their inferno of determination.
You are Gregor. A giant personality that wants to introduce yourself to the world. Oy, and you should be making a point to show it more!
You are Henry. You are slightly insane by societies standards, but you wouldn't have it any other way. Because that is who you are.
And most important of all.
You are Robin. You can become anyone or anything you want to be. The Grandmaster Tactician, the quick footed sniper, or even the cunning trickster. There is no limit on what you can be. You never know when you might find yourself in the middle of the field, but when the time comes it will take place at center stage with you being the grand conductor. In the meantime all you have to do is live your own story.
Become the person you want to be and make sure to learn from your mistakes. Never ever give up because things aren't going well. What makes you strong is your ability to fight against all of the odds. Despair will never consume you, because you are more amazing than even you realize.
What makes you powerful is you ability to think and learn.
And what makes you incredible is the fact that you are you.
So this is your story. And I damn well expect you to live it.
If you want this world to be a better place then do the little things, and try something different. You never know what you might find.
You could save the world from an evil dragon. Or you can become a champion that even Basilio would respect.
The story you live is up to you.
And with some hard work, you will live a life that no fairy tale could compare to.
So live each day to the fullest. Never forget to smile.
And may God bless us all.
