Chapter 15: Moments Like These
Autobot Base:
I guess sometime on the Decepticon ship has done me some good because during the night after our little adventure, my fever broke and I was feeling better by the morning. I was very thankful because I was so behind in taking care of stuff with my gymnastics team and not only that, but I got a call saying that local scouts heard about my gym and are coming to watch us practice all together and individually as well. The news was exciting and it was exciting to tell my team that they started practicing right away and so did I. This is a great opportunity for my team and for me because this is a good way to get scholarships to go to college. I began working so hard for the past few days that I was stressing myself out and the others started to notice. Jack told me to take a break and go to base for one afternoon and relax. As much as I wanted to wave off his offer, Jack told me that stressing myself out won't help and I won't be at my best. Knowing he's right, I took his offer and went to base. It was nice to get my mind off of tomorrow and what better than a good game of Cybertronian basketball with Miko being the ref and Jack, Raf, and I being the fans.
Miko was standing near the temporary hoop they set up, "Basketball by way of Cybertron. Let the games begin!" She shouted and blew the whistle as Bulk stood guard and blocked the ball 'Bee threw and scored. "Yeah go Bulk!" She shouted happily jumping up and down.
"Come on best two out of three!" Bulkhead said picking up the ball and tossing to Bee, who ran and ducked around Bulkhead.
Raf seemed excited by this, "Bee you're in the clear!" He shouted from the other side of Jack as Bee ran to goal and was standing just below it. "Dunk it 'Bee!" He said happily, but 'Bee just stood there in a daze and it was a little odd to all of us.
"Bumblebee stop hogging the ball!" Bulkhead said impatiently as 'Bee turned around and threw the ball at Bulkhead, who in turn ducked just in time for the ball to slam into the wall. "Whoa!" He shouted as he turned to look at 'Bee.
Miko came sliding down from the ladder and blew the whistle, "Ehhh flagrant foul!" She said with a frown on her face.
"Dodgeball by way of Cybertron!" Jack joked as he nudge both me and Raf, the latter who looked a bit shocked that 'Bee would do that.
I shook my head, "Yeah except I don't think Cybertronians like that game either especially if it's a one ton ball being thrown." I said turning to Jack, who in turn nodded his head.
"Uh 'Bee? Hoops over there!" Bulkhead said while scratching his head and pointing behind Bee at the hoop as Bee beeped something.
Raf looked at Bee in concern, "Bee you okay?" He asked cautiously and 'Bee beeped something to him and held up three fingers. "Yeah three out of five." He said with what looked like a forced smile as the game continued.
The others watched in amazement and the game went by without another problem. Result of the game ended in being a tie because Ratchet came back in the room and told them that he needed the space and didn't want a flying ball ruining his equipment. While Miko and Bulkhead complained, Raf seemed relieved that it was over and I couldn't help, but think something was up. Bumblebee went into Megatron's head, I can't imagine coming out of there and not carrying something with you. 'Bee then went over to Raf and took him for a drive, now just leaving Jack and me sitting there on the air vent. I guess I was staring off into space because he nudged me.
"Hey what do you think that was about earlier?" Jack asked and expressed the same kind of concern and curiosity I have.
I shook my head, "I don't know. Maybe 'Bee is just a little jumpy from being inside Megatron's head." I said and it was an educated guess at best.
"Can't say that I blame him. I saw what the inside of Megatron's head looks like and it isn't what you call paradise." Jack said pinching the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes as if trying to shake the memory.
I remember him describing it and I shivered, "Yeah no kidding. I just hope it isn't long term effects because I'm pretty sure Raf wants 'Bee to be 'Bee again." I said looking at the tunnel and I can tell that Jack wants it that way too.
We didn't speak anymore of the subject as Arcee came in to take us home. During the drive we continued with normal conversation, but my mind was somewhere else. Usually it would be back to the gymnastics thing tomorrow, but I kept thinking of the incident at the base and Raf's facial expression before he left which had me concerned. Jack and I told Arcee goodnight and went to go to bed since it was kind of late. Even though I don't have to go to school tomorrow, I still have to get up early to prepare everyone. It was a long night for me and I knew I wouldn't be getting that much sleep.

Darby House/All Star Gym:
I woke up rather groggily and got dressed in my usual gymnastics attire which consisted of a double layer tank top and shorts in which I covered up with sweat pants. Then Jack and I ate breakfast together before we loaded up on Arcee and headed out. We dropped Jack off at the school an hour early since he had to do something and he wished me good luck before going inside. Arcee backed out of the school parking lot and we headed to the gym. It takes a bit to get there and I was early anyways so I took the time to relax.
"So you nervous?" Arcee asked after a brief moment of silence when she turned her mirrors towards me.
I looked down at the dash, "Always. More so for my team than myself." I said humbly and I don't mean to sound like Optimus, but that's how I feel.
"Always so humble." Arcee said and there was slight humor in her voice and there was something else and I couldn't quite pin it.
I shrugged, "I try." I quipped which cause Arcee to laugh slightly and made me laugh some too and for some reason I don't feel as nervous as I did earlier as we pulled up to the gym.
"Good luck partner and try not to fall!" Arcee joked and I know she isn't serious about the last part, that's just how we are.
I rolled my eyes, "Thanks Arcee. I will try and maybe this time I'll come back with something minor like a broken leg." I joked while crossing my arms.
"Ha ha very funny! Anyways good luck today and if anything happens call me." Arcee said and I nodded my head as she backed up and drove off.
I turned to walk up the steps and took a deep breath before opening the doors and going inside. I see all of my team sitting in there in a big group and the talking I heard a moment ago seemed to diminish as I walked in. By the way they looked, they were waiting for me to say something to them and I know I should. Setting down my bag and walking over to the group as they all turned their attention over to me. By the looks on their faces, they were nervous and some of them had a look like they don't think they will have a chance. It breaks my heart to see this and I will not allow any of them to think they've failed.
I sat down in front of them, "Now listen up guys. I can tell by the looks on your faces that you think you've already failed, but in truth you haven't. Do you think I will allow you to fail?" I asked and they looked around at each other. "I wouldn't because family doesn't allow family to fail. These scouts or what I would call them bees, are here to see you guys because they think all of you have potential or else why would they be here? I call them bees because they may seem intimidating, but if you leave them alone and do what you gotta do, they won't harm you, just watch and see." I said as I put my hand in the middle. "Just think of it as a normal practice and competition afterwards because that's all it is. Nothing more, nothing less." I said and all the girls put their hands on top of mine. "Now on three say Never Back Down!" I said and we all pumped our hands and threw them up in the air.
"NEVER BACK DOWN!" They all shouted and went over to practicing while my friend and co-captain Emily came to stand beside me.
"Bees? Where did you get that from?" Emily asked curiously as I grabbed my bag and put it in the locker room and pulled off my sweat pants, took off my shoes and put them in my bag.
I shrugged, "I just wanted to put in a way that wouldn't make them scared or even more nervous than before. Something they could relate too." I said while we walked out of the locker room.
"Well those scouts are like buzzing bees and you always know they are there. They don't try to make you scared, but just the presence of them does. Just like bees." Emily said as if a light bulb went off in her head. "Wow Jordyn you turn everyday creatures into something motivational. This is why you are captain." She said putting a hand on my shoulder before going and practicing herself.
I smiled at the thought because in a sense she is right. I had no idea of where I was going with the bee thing, but I managed to pull something out of it. It's not something random that came to mind, I just keep thinking of the situation with 'Bee and how weird he is acting. To be honest it has me more worried than the scouts and that's unusual considering gymnastics is something I'm really into and good at and lately been stressing about for the past few days. However the look Raf had on his face yesterday keeps entering my mind and I just have this gut feeling something is really wrong. I put that feeling away when I saw the scouts have arrived and began to get to work. I start with the beam and work my way through everything until I heard someone announce they are ready for individual tryouts. We all go into a room and wait for our names to be called. All of us sat there in silence as if mentally preparing for this. I watched each girl go in and out and it was almost my turn until I felt my phone go off. I looked to see that it was Raf calling me. I looked around the room and no one was watching so I snuck out into a separate hallway.
I pressed the answer key, "Raf? Aren't you supposed to be in class?" I asked slightly confused and concerned.
"Sorry Jordyn, but 'Bee never came to pick me up for school and Jack said that he might be at base still. I don't know what to do." Raf said and he sounded panicked and sounded like he was about to cry. "I just don't know what to do." He said quieter this time as my heart sank.
I knew what to do, "Raf wait there and I'll be right there. Don't go anywhere!"I said sternly and I know this will ruin my chance, but at this point something more important came up.
"Wait don't you have that gymnastics thing today? I don't want you to miss out on that opportunity!" Raf said, his voice layered with guilt.
I didn't want him to feel that way, "Don't worry Raf I'm already done for the day. They saw what they needed to see." I lied and I hate doing it, but I don't want Raf to feel this way especially with the situation going on at present.
"Oh really? Wow that was quick! Okay I'll stay here!" Raf said as I heard the line go dead and I went back into the room to grab my bag and I put my sweat pants and shoes back on.
I went over to the lady and told her that I needed to go because of family and kindly asked her to skip my turn when it comes up. She seemed to show an expression of concern, but complied nonetheless. I looked over at Em and she nodded her head as if to tell me to go on ahead. I turned to the girls and gave them a nod and went out the back door. I sprinted down a few blocks before I reached Raf's house and saw him sitting on the sidewalk and waited. I pulled out my phone and contacted Arcee to come get us before I went over to him and sat down while putting my phone away.
Raf's House/Road to Autobot Base:
I rested my hand on his shoulder and he didn't even look at me, "I don't know what to do. Something is wrong with 'Bee. How could he forget me?" He asked to no one in particular and the tone of his voice made me sad.
"Raf don't say that. 'Bee would never forget you. Something is not right in his mind and I'm sure Ratchet will figure it out." I said squeezing his shoulder gently to let him know that I'm here for him.
Raf took off his glasses and wiped his eyes, "Yeah you're probably right. The 'Bee I know would never do that!" He said with more confidence, but there was still uncertainty in his eyes.
A familiar motor sound came up to us, "Need a lift?" Arcee said as we both stood up and walked over to her. "Hey I thought you had gymnastics today?" She asked slightly confused.
"Thanks Arcee and yeah I did, but I've already had my turn today. Here Raf." I said handing him a helmet and he got on behind me and wrapped his arms around me.
Arcee moved her mirrors to focus on us, "Hold on tight you two." She said while revving her engine and took off towards base and I hope for Raf's sake everything will be alright.
Autobot Base:
It didn't take us long as we reached the base and when we got there, Bee was hooked up to the Energon Infuser/Scanner chamber in med-bay. This did nothing to calm Raf's nerves as he ran over to where 'Bee was in a panicked manner. Something must definitely not be right because Bee off lined his optics and they never power down during the day ever.
I reached over to where Raf was as Ratchet started explaining, "Bumblebee's complaining about intermittent visions, waking nightmares if you will." He said as if it wasn't a big deal.
"But you said 'Bee was fine when you checked him over." Raf said a little panicked as he turned to look at Ratchet.
Ratchet shook his head, "Physically, but the experience he has endured has been having a temporary effect on his psyching. This induced power down should force Bumblebee's mind to rest and recover." He said reassuringly to the others as we heard the monitors beep.
It was Agent Fowler, "Prime! You spot any Decepticons wearing hula skirts lately?" He asked rather frustrated.
"Did he just say hula skirts?" I asked down at Raf who mere shrugged his shoulder because we all know Fowler is odd in his sayings.
Apparently Optimus had the same thought, "No special Agent Fowler. Why?" He asked in a tone of slight confusion and with a facial expression to match.
"Because I was hoping you got a lead on the cons that busted into the Kauai Naval Observatory. Place looks it got hit by an army of wrecking balls." Fowler said throwing one of his hands in the air to add emphasis.
Arcee raised any eyebrow skeptically, "Why would cons break into an observatory?" She asked rather confused.
"Does the Heuck Nigoghossian ring any bells?" Fowler asked and I knew what he meant by it, I've read about it back in history class.
Raf and I came to stand next to Optimus, "The space telescope." Raf pointed out and it's clear he remembers that day in class too.
"With huge, powerful lens in order for scientists to have a better look at the stars and planets." I explained further with the best of my knowledge.
Fowler nodded, "As of last night missing that primary lens." He said and this came to a shock to both me and Raf.
"It's difficult to guess Starscream's intent without knowing where the lens has been taken." Optimus pointed out another problem.
I nodded my head, "And it's not like we can track their ship." I mumbled to Raf who in turn agreed with me.
"Good thing the lens has a tracking device." Fowler said and sent the coordinate to the main screen and we all moved over to see it better, well everyone except for Raf.
The map with the coordinates popped up on the screen, "The Artic? Great! Another way to freeze our sparkplugs off!" Arcee said rather irritated by the news as the map zoomed in to show a few purple splotches on the screen.
Bulkhead then whistled, "That's an MB seven class! Biggest un-mineable Energon deposit there is." He said turning his head to the side to face Optimus.
"Un-mineable until Starscream melts his way down to it." Optimus stated in response to Bulkhead's observations.
Arcee nodded her head, "With the help of the lens." She stated as we turned back to look at the monitors.
"Melting a glacier that size could cause sea-levels to rise and demolish coastal cities." Fowler pointed out a more devastating fact.
Optimus's face hardened, "We will handle the situation from here on out Agent Fowler." He stated as Fowler disappeared from the screen.
"The Decepticons must be getting real desperate if they want to melt a big chunk of ice to get more fuel." Bulkhead stated and since when aren't they desperate for anything.
I sighed, "The world already has enough problems with tsunamis and hurricanes wrecking coastal landscapes. We don't need a glacier melting to add emphasis." I said rather frustrated while crossing my arms.
"Not only that it will wreck the nearest inland cities as well as coastal." Raf pointed out from med- bay and he is right whether we want to believe him or not.
Arcee's face hardened just like Optimus's, "Well what are we waiting for?" She asked impatiently as Ratchet went and activated the Groundbridge.
"Autobots roll out!" Optimus said as he transformed along with Arcee and Bulkhead and they drove out with the bridge closing behind them.
I turned to look over at med-bay and saw Raf sitting there with 'Bee. I grabbed my journal and decided to go sit along with him. He seemed grateful for the company and I couldn't blame him either. It's like waiting in the hospital with your family and friends for the doctors to tell you any news. Thankfully 'Bee isn't hurt well not physically at least. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice Raf was having a full on conversation with 'Bee. It reminded me of doctors talking to coma patients, just begging them to wake up for the sake of their family and friends. Although again I am grateful that is not the case in this situation. I pretended to continue writing in my journal while I listened.
"So I blow past the finish line. Then my other sister Plora asked how I got so good at racing games and I told her I know a guy who knows cars." Raf said excitedly at the memory and I laughed internally at the 'I know a guy' part.
I then heard Ratchet come forward, "Rafael. I'm afraid Bumblebee can't hear you in power down mode." He said as another moment passed before he spoke again. "It's getting late, why don't I bridge you home to your family." He offered, but I already knew Raf's answer to that.
"Because I promised 'Bee that I would stay. He's family too." Raf said while looking at 'Bee and then at me.
Ratchet scoffed, "Don't be ridiculous. You're not even the same species." He said bluntly, but that doesn't matter to us.
"That's being related. It's not the same thing. I'll show you." Raf said reaching for his phone and opened it to a picture and pointed it towards Ratchet. "This is my family." He stated as Ratchet kneeled down to him to look and back up.
Ratchet looked away, "Mmm hmm very nice." He mumbled to himself and it made me slightly irritated that he doesn't want to listen.
"Very large. Sometimes I can shout and no one hears me." Raf said and I felt sad because every child deserves to be heard no matter how big of a family.
Ratchet yet again seemed disinterested, "Yes-yes." He mumbled again and I was about to say something, but refrained as Raf spoke again.
"But Bumblebee always listens." Raf said and I looked up at Ratchet who seemed to smile at the thought. "And I can understand him. Not sure why, but I do." He said as we all looked back at 'Bee and I did feel like he was listening.
I smiled, "Maybe it happened for a reason. The universe is funny about that." I stated as Raf turned to me with a smile.
"Yes-yes the universe is odd about everything. Now if you excuse me I have watch the monitors." Ratchet said as he walked away from the med-bay and into the main area.
Raf sighed, "Do you think Ratchet cares? He just made an excuse to leave. Do we bother him that much?" He asked slightly hurt and confused.
"He does care, but has a funny way of showing it. I think it's not because we bother him as the reason why he says the things he says. It's probably hard for him to admit that us kids are not as bad as he thinks." I said in hopes to reassure him and thankfully it did.
Raf nodded his head and pulled out his laptop and began typing. I then turned back to my book and started writing. My mind began to wonder and I hope what I said to Raf was true or else Ratchet truly does dislike us and if he does, I want to know why. Anyways we sat in this silence for quite some time before we heard footsteps come up to us again.
"Rafael, Jordyn. I'm going to the supply vault to find some parts to repair this." Ratchet said while holding up a mangled up orange and white flashlight. "You two know what this means." He warned like he was talking to toddlers.
Raf and I looked at each other, "Don't touch anything!" We recited like we were reading from a drilling manual.
Ratchet then turned and walked off as Raf spoke to 'Bee again, "Wait until you see about this new laptop I'm saving up for 'Bee." He said and then looked up as we heard a noise. "Bee?" He questioned as Bumblebee started to move. "Bumblebee! Wait!" He shouted while racing after him.
I instantly put my journal away and ran after 'Bee and Raf, "What are you doing?" I said confused as the Groundbridge activated and Bumblebee ran through.
"What did you two do?" Ratchet accused as he came behind me and Raf and we turned to look at him.
Raf shook his head, "Nothing!" We both shouted as Raf continued. "Bumblebee just got up and-" He said, but didn't finish as Ratchet interrupted him.
"He was in power down! Where does he think he's off too?" Ratchet questioned as he walked over to the Groundbridge controls while Raf and I climbed the ladder to the platform.
I looked at the Groundbridge controls, "Have any idea where he went?" I asked rather worried because it's not like 'Bee to take off like that.
"These are the coordinates from the previous battle with Megatron's undead." Ratchet stated rather grimly because the words battle and undead are not a good thing in our books.
Raf's face grew worried, "Maybe we should call Optimus." He said in a frightened tone and can't say that I blame him.
"Optimus is preventing a polar ice cap from melting. We need to handle this on our own." Ratchet said activating the Groundbridge as Bumblebee walked through.
I didn't like the look on his face, "Ratchet be careful." I warned as Bumblebee got out of the bridge area.
"Bumblebee what have you been doing?" Ratchet asked cautiously while grabbing 'Bee's right arm and exposing a purple shard. "Dark Energon!" He exclaimed as Bumblebee sucker punched Ratchet in the face causing him to slam into the Groundbridge controls effectively knocking him out.
Raf and I were in disbelief at what happened, "Bee what are you doing?!" Raf said in disbelief as Bumblebee grabbed Raf.
I tried to reach for him, but 'Bee flicked me back into the computer table hard and I fell to the ground and cut my chin. The chairs from the table fell on top of me and I couldn't move from the blow. I watched helplessly as 'Bee carried Raf off, but surprisingly he put him down on the air vent and ran into the Groundbridge. Regaining my composure, I moved the chairs off of me and then I groaned along with Ratchet.
"Jordyn! Ratchet! Are you guys okay?" Raf asked in concern while Ratchet and I managed to get back to a standing position.
"Yeah I'm alright! Ratchet?" I asked rubbing my now sore back and wiping the blood off my chin.
Ratchet groaned again, "I'm fine. More importantly is Bumblebee? I think the time spent in Megatron's mindscape is causing him think like a Decepticon." He said while walking over to where Raf was at the vent.
"Bee's not a con!" Raf said sternly as Ratchet held out his hands and Raf carefully jumped into Ratchet's palm.
I shook my head, "Nor will he ever be. It's not in him to be that way!" I said echoing Raf's earlier response.
Ratchet carefully began to walk over to the platform, "Agreed. But we need to figure out what Bumblebee intends to do with that shard. The only one who knew of the Dark Energon was Megatron!" He stated grimly and I didn't like where this was going.
"Bumblebee has Megatron's memories?" Raf questioned rather confused as Ratchet shook his head at the claim.
Ratchet clenched his eyes for a second, "Worse. Megatron is occupying Bumblebee's mind." He said and my eyes widen.
"What?!" Raf and I exclaimed as Ratchet moved forward again and Raf nearly tumbled out of his hand.
Ratchet moved to the platform and set Raf down, "How could I have been such a fool! The Cortical Psychic Patch acted as a two way conduit! When Bumblebee returned to his own mind, Megatron followed." Ratchet explained as we looked at the Groundbridge controls. "Now Bumblebee…Megatron. Has bridge to nearly the same coordinates Optimus used." He said and pulled the controls and the bridge fired up. "Both of you stay here!" He ordered while walking to the bridge.
"No. Bumblebee needs me." Raf said sternly as he pointed towards himself and I admire his bravery to help 'Bee.
I looked down at Raf, "And if you think Bee would allow you to go alone then you're crazy. Besides he would want you to have back up. Right Ratchet?" I asked because I want to come with him to make sure he is alright and respect 'Bee's wishes as well.
"Of course he does." Ratchet said albeit hesitantly as he came over to us and placed me on one shoulder and Raf on another as we all went through the bridge.
Decepticon Warship:
Ratchet held onto us as he jumped onto the warship, "The Decepticon Warship!" He exclaimed quietly while running down the corridors.
"Whoa." I said quietly as we came around a corner and there were bodies of dead Decepticon soldiers sparking everywhere.
Bee or "Megatron" left a pretty gruesome trail, "Did Bumblebee do this?" Raf questioned in shock as if he couldn't believe his friend would do this.
"I'm fear Megatron's mind is dominant and clearly he came here for one purpose, to use the Dark Energon to resurrect his own body." Ratchet said grimly and I didn't want to believe that he would.
So did Raf, "No Bumblebee won't let him. Just like he didn't let Megatron hurt me back at the base." He stated firmly, pounding his fist against his leg.
"I hope you're right." Ratchet said as he set the both of us down from his shoulder and we went down the corridors into the medical room.
I remember from the last time, "Megatron is lying in that room!" I said as we ran to the room and the doors opened.
It revealed Megatron and 'Bee with a cord attached to the back of his head. The Patch! There is no way Bumblebee would allow Megatron to do it and maybe we can convince 'Bee to fight it or least Raf can. Ratchet then made a move and ran towards Bumblebee.
"Ratchet don't hurt Bumblebee!" Raf pleaded as we ran into the room, but I was more concerned about 'Bee hurting Ratchet.
"That's not Bumblebee!" Ratchet shouted and ran towards 'Bee and tried to punch him, but to no avail, 'Bee punched Ratchet into the nearest wall.
I looked over at Raf, "Raf go talk to him! Maybe you can snap him out of it." I shouted as Raf went forward to 'Bee before he could do anything.
"Bumblebee no! Remember who you are! Remember me! I know you always listen to me no matter what!" Raf said sadly as we watched 'Bee stiffen up and start to beep like he normally would. "That's right 'Bee it's me!" He said happily and I felt happy too.
We watched as what would be 'Bee's pupils widen and then narrow rapidly and squealed and held his head like he had a headache. 'Bee then fell face first to the ground, but still kept himself propped up with his left arm that was current being occupied with the Dark Energon shard. Raf ran over to 'Bee and clutched his arm in concern for his friend. It made me feel uneasy that he was that close because by the look on his face, Megatron was back in charge. I ran behind Raf, just as 'Bee flicked him away and caught him as we both slammed onto the hard ground. I was close to hitting my head, but I didn't care about that as I helped Raf to his feet.
"Farwell Megatron!" Ratchet exclaimed bitterly as he grabbed the remaining plug on Megatron and pulled it off causing 'Bee to attack and throw Ratchet into another nearby wall just behind us.
Raf shook his head in disbelief, "Bumblebee!" He said desperately to get 'Bee back, but all he got was a glare from his possessed friend.
"Bumblebee can't hear you anymore!" A voice, I have no doubt Megatron has manipulated, came out of 'Bee rather sinisterly.
Raf's expression hardened, "As much as I want you to leave Bumblebee's body, I can't let you go back to your own!" He shouted and made a break for the cord attached to 'Bee.
"Raf!" I exclaimed as we both ran and jumped on the cord and it felt like we were riding a bucking bull and did what it what a bull would do, bucked us both off.
We both landed on the floor with a thud, but I managed to get up and help Raf up too. Although what we saw next horrified the both of us. 'Bee plunged the shard into Megatron's chest and a bright purple glow emitted from Megatron and I saw a pair of bright red eyes open. Ratchet went over and removed the cord from the back of 'Bee's head as Megatron rose. We all started to back up as I kept Raf behind me as Megatron came off the platform that once held him and stood full height. I narrowed my eyes at him as several cons came into the room.
"Decepticons! Your rightful Lord and Master has returned!" Megatron announced to the whole ship as we just stared at him as he walked right by us. "Finish these pests! I have my own extermination to perform." He said walking between the cons as they pointed their guns at all of us.
Blaster fire started lighting up the room as Ratchet grabbed me and Raf and crawled into the hole we used last time. 'Bee fired a few shots before joining us and we made for our escape off the ship. We crawled for a safe distance until the coast was clear and we ran down the corridors and found one of the exits. I have a feeling that the only way off this flying hunk of junk is to jump. 'Bee transformed and motioned us to get in as Ratchet transformed too. They both hit top speed before speeding off the side of the ship. It took all of me not to scream as 'Bee transformed and grabbed the both of us before landing on the snow below.
"If that didn't spike an adrenaline rush, I don't know what does." I said with a sigh of relief that we didn't become a part of the snow and ice.
Raf on the other hand seemed overjoyed at the moment, "I'm so glad to have you back 'Bee!" Raf exclaimed happily as he placed the both of us on his shoulders.
"I hate to cut the reunion short, but we need to find the others. That thing is still melting the ice." Ratchet stated as the rest of us looked over and saw the stream of fire pounding at the ice.
'Bee beeped something, "Yeah I know 'Bee. I hope the others can stop it." Raf said as we started walking towards what might be the others location.
"They will. They have too." I said in determination while holding my chin as it still hurts a bit as Raf looked at me worriedly. "Don't worry guys I'm fine." I said reassuringly as I saw 'Bee handing me an icicle to help with my cut. "Thanks 'Bee!" I said appreciatively as I gently placed the icicle to my face and we continued walking.
Then out of nowhere a giant explosion occurred and then a great huge breeze nearly knocked us off course. We looked up to see the backend of the Decepticon Warship starting to smoke. They did it! Wow I wonder how they made it explode like that. I mean considering the heat that was giving off of that thing, anything is possible.
"Well looks like the observatory isn't getting its lens back." I stated bluntly and I heard Raf laugh slightly on 'Bee's other shoulder and I smiled.
Ratchet groaned, "Great now we have to listen to Agent Fowler about this." He said pinching what is supposed to be the bridge of his nose as we continued on.
Through a gap in between two ice cliffs we spotted everyone, "Ratchet we need a bridge." Optimus said touching his comm. link.
"You are not the only ones." Ratchet said as we went through the gap and the others were shocked to see us.
Raf and I waved at them, "Hey guys." I said waving with one hand and holding the piece of ice to my chin with the other.
"I don't get it what happened?" Bulkhead asked confused and scratched his head to add emphasis as we reached the others.
Raf and I looked at each other, "Long story." We both said with sheepish grins as Arcee came up to 'Bee and looked up at me.
"Do I need to even ask?" Arcee said in frustration as 'Bee handed me to Arcee, who in turn placed me on her shoulder.
I grew a nervous smile, "You could, but you don't necessarily have to." I said now with a big smile on my face.
"And that?" Arcee asked skeptically while pointing towards my chin and I removed the ice from it and her eyes narrowed as she examined it.
I sighed, "Umm long story?" I quipped with a smile in hopes to reassure her and for her not to break the nearest glacier.
"Ugh what am I going to do with you?" Arcee said and sighed in frustration while pinching what would be the bridge of her nose.
I rubbed the back of my neck, "To be honest, I don't even know what I'm going to do with myself." I said and I heard Raf laugh which in turn made me smile and Arcee too.
While 'Bee and Raf were explaining what happened, Arcee turned her head towards me, "You really didn't go for gymnastics today didn't you?" She said and with a smile, I held one finger up to my mouth indicating for her to be quiet and she smiled because she understood why I did it.
We waited for a period of time until a Groundbridge appeared beside us and it appears that Optimus called in a favor from Agent Fowler. Once we got back to base, Ratchet immediately sent 'Bee to med-bay while I sent a Groundbridge to pick Jack and Miko up from school. When they got there, we were finishing up explaining to Agent Fowler about what happened and he immediately left to report the incident. Jack and Miko asked me so many question about what went down today and to say the least it was a long story to tell as I was bandaging up my chin and explaining why my clothes were torn on the back. Once I was done, Jack and Miko had mixed emotions on what happened, but they didn't get a chance to express their opinion much as our attention was turned elsewhere. Ratchet was done with scanning Bumblebee as the door to the chamber opened.
"Everything's back to normal." Ratchet said in relief as 'Bee beeped something. "Well normal for Bumblebee!" He said to the rest of us.
'Bee then knelt down to Raf and beeped some sort of apology, "It's okay." Raf said as 'Bee beeped again. "Of course I did." He said with a slight laugh as 'Bee beeped some more. "I know." He said with a smile as 'Bee held out one of his fingers and lead out a string of beeps.
Miko then walked up to them, "What did he say?" She asked curiously and I already knew the answer before Raf could translate.
"He said thanks." Raf said nearly choking on his words and I have no doubt in my mind that 'Bee is smiling just as big and bold as Raf is.
I felt a tear roll down my face as I leaned up against Jack. This moment right here is the reason why I don't regret ever throwing away the opportunity I had today. Everyone has to make choices and some of them are hard to make and don't have clear cut answers. In this case however, the choice was clear to me once I pressed the answer button on my phone despite knowing that it was my turn coming up. A million opportunities could come my way and someone could offer me the chance to go to the Olympics, but if something more important as my family comes up, I will turn down all those opportunities in a heartbeat to make sure that my family is okay and I will be there for them no matter what. All those opportunities will make for great moments in my life, but they are nothing compared to moments like these.
Well here we go another chapter down and much quicker this time too! I took this opportunity when I didn't have college work to update again. To be honest with all of you, besides the series finale, the ending of this episode nearly had me in tears. I just love the moment between Bumblebee and Raf at the end it's so sweet! In the next chapter: Miko is up to no good again, but this time it puts her, Jack, Jordyn and Raf in a sticky situation. Will they be able to get out?
