Chapter 9
Demons, Angels, and Silver

Roxas and Sora clung closely to one another during the ride or rather, Roxas clung tightly to Sora. Sephiroth had not even batted them an eye.

"Roxas," Sephiroth had not even given them a single look. "Where is there gas station around here?"

Roxas inhaled then exhaled deeply, trying to collect himself. "Get on to Sundown Highway, head left and one will be on your left hand side." His voice was shakey, his body more so.

Sora wrapped his hands around the boy. Roxas truely was terrified of this man.

Sephiroth nodded and did as instructed.

It was after the short delay to the gas station that they found themselves pulling into Xemnas' driveway. The three piled out, Roxas and Sora sticking close to one another. As they made there way up the driveway they heard a high pitched yell. "ROXAS!"

"Oh no," he managed to say before being tackled to the ground by a young silver headed boy with a loud "Oof!"

"Hehe! How have you been, cousin?" The boy found himself being lifted up by none other then the cousin in question.

"I've been... well Ienzo." He put on a fake smile, again only one Sora could see through. 'No need to damper a little kids day,' Roxas thought to himself. "now don't be rude, Ienzo," He pointed to Sora. "Introduce yourself," he said as he placed the small boy on the ground.

Once he noticed the others presence, Ienzo immediately hid behind Roxas' legs, like a puppy who just met a much larger dog.

Roxas smiled. Ienzo was always a shy boy. His elder brother was less so, but rarely opened up to others. He shuffle stepped behind the boy, a move which always caught Ienzo off guard. "Ienzo, this is my friend, Sora. What do you say?"

"He-hello... I... I-it's very nice to meet you."

Sora knelt down to eye level with the boy, putting a hand out in front of him. "Hey there, little guy. I'm Sora. It's very nice to meet you to." He wore that stupid grin he always had. That little sun that only seemed to rise whenever Sora smiled, but was eclipsed whenever he frowned.

To Roxas' shock, Zexion took the hand and shook. Roxas was flabbergasted. Usually Zexion would hide behind Roxas' leg, only to be lifted up by either Roxas or his father, Xemnas. 'That's Sora for you,' he thought. 'Always quick to warm up to even the shyest of people.'

The front door opened to revile none other then Roxas's silver haired uncle. "Roxas, Sephiroth! You're here. And you brought a friend." he approached Sora, extending a hand. "My name is Xemnas, it's good to meet a friend of my nephew's."

"My name is Sora. Nice to meet you, sir." He shook the hand firmly. There was something about this family and hand shaking. Sora couldn't quite place it.

"Don't worry," Xemnas said. "Once you walk through those doors, chaos will rage. We are anything but formal."

"Don't worry, Uncle Xemnas," Roxas began. "It takes a lot to break him. Not even Larxene, sorry, AUNT Larxene could phase him."

"That would be quite impressive. I've yet to meet someone who hasn't been insulted by my wife. But that is besides the point. Please, come in. Zexion has been eager to see you, Roxas."

"Zexion? Eager? This I must see." without another word, Roxas entered the home, Sora and Ienzo in suit. It was a simple double decker, fairly large in size. AS soon as one entered there would be a small foyer with two sets of steps. One heading upward, the other downward. Upon entry they were greeted by fairly sized, gold haired dog running up from the lower steps. It tackled Roxas to the ground and proceeded to lick him furiously. "Haha! Down girl down!" Roxas managed to sit up and began to pet the animal. "Hey Molly!" The dog rolled over onto its back. One could almost here the dog say "Tummy rub?" Roxas simply giggled and complied with Molly's wishes. the dog let out a small bark in happiness.

It was not long before the four, dog included, heard a thunderous voice. "SHUT THE HELL UP DOWN THERE!" Within a nanosecond, I butcher's knife was found in the wall, mere inches away from Sora's head, taking a few strands of hair with it. The owner of the thunderous voice peered down the stairwell to see the four, again, dog included. "Oh! Roxas, Ienzo! I didn't know it was you! I thought it was my idiot husband." See sent a death glare into Sora's direction. "Who the hell is the puppy?"

Sora would have usually said something in retort, but the knife which had stolen a few strands of hair from the boy kept him petrified in fear.

"That's Sora. The one I told you about, Larxene."

She made her way down the steps and gave a knowing glance. "Oh! so that's your boyfriend," she said in a hushed whisper, as to not let any but Roxas and Sora here."

That was enough to pull Sora out of his trance. "Y- you know?!"

"Damn right I know! You're Sora Leonheart, second in command of the kendo team, member of the swim team and a shit ton of other sports. Maybe you can spar with me and Goldilocks over here."

"You spar?"

"Mhmm. I used to do Gatka."

Roxas piped in. "And I keep telling you, Shaolin Kempo is better!"

"Kempo is the Sora sighed. "Great... We're like our own army...Three martial artists consisting of a sword master, me, and then we've got Roxas who literally fights like five different animals, and now Larxene, a weapon master."

"Hey! At least they haven't stopped evolving kempo yet," Roxas yelled. He felt a tug at his sleeve. Roxas turned only to see little Ienzo.

"Roxas! Come play with me," he whined.

Larxenne gave him a stern look. It wasn't one of anger or hate, but the stern yet loving look of a mother. "Ienzo... You'll wait."

Roxas nodded. "It's ok. Me and Sora can entertain them."

She shrugged. "Alright. Whatever floats your boat."

Ienzo pulled Roxas down the steps, Sora's hand in his. Roxas still couldn't believe Ienzo had warmed up to Sora so quickly. It usually took him days just to make eye contact with a stranger. Once they were downstairs, they were greeted with the sight of a silver haired boy, his face shoved in a book. Its title read Fountain Head, by Ann Rand. It was fairly large. There was a hallway to the left of the staircase leading to the garage and bathroom along with a large flat screen TV. To the right was the couch which occupied the whole right corner of the room, and all of the right wall. A fish tank sat in the corner.

Roxas smiled. "I told you it was a good read."

Startled, the silver haired boy's head shot up. His look of shock was soon replaced with a happy smile. "Ah! Roxas! Just as loud as ever."

"You call me loud, and deal with Ienzo?"

"Point taken." He stood from where he sat. He was about two feet shorter then Roxas and Sora.

Sora looked to Roxas. "How old is he?"

"Ten, believe it or not... He acts much older doesn't he?"

Zexion snarled at them. "I'm right here!"

"Take it as a compliment, Bookworm."

Sora proceeded to play with Ienzo, who would mainly just show him his toys and games. Zexion and Roxas discussed Fountain Head, before somehow getting on the topic of how different things are now compared from when Roxas was young. "I didn't have any video games or anything like that! I had puzzles and books. My favorite toy was a rubix cube." Roxas explained to Zexion.

"They didn't have video games when you were little?"

"They had tons, I just didn't own any. Not till I was older."

"What games didja own?"

"Most of my games were for the gameboy."

Zexion gave a puzzled look. "Game... Boy? What is that?"

Roxas sighed. "It's what they had before the DS."

"Oh! what was your favorite game?"

"Hmmm... Either Pokemon or Four Swords."

"I know what Pokemon is but... What's Four Swords?"

Roxas only sighed again. "Tell you what, I'll get you a book on nintendo, ok?"

This went on for what seemed like hours until Xemnas came down the steps. "Dinner is ready. Come to the table."

The four nodded, following him up the steps. Once they arrived and they had all sat, the only person missing was Sephiroth. Roxas looked around. "Where's..."

"your father went to his truck," Larxene said, cutting Roxas off. "Something about 'Zack's goldmine of a kid' or something like that." She shrugged it off.

Roxas on the other hand, looked immediately to the brunet next to him. "Sora, check your pockets."

Xamnas' eyes trailed to Sora.

"Why," Sora asked confused. "Whats up?"

"Just do it, now!"

"Alright, alright!" He shoved his hands into his front pockets, fishing around for each item. "Hey..." He stood up, beginning to pat all others on his person. "My keys are gone!"

"Sora... You have a master key for everything your dad owns... Dammit! Uncle Xemnas, he's at it again!" Roxas and his Uncle shot up, running to the front door. Sora and the others immediately followed in curiosity.

Roxas and Xemnas arrived at the door, spotting Sephiroth as he started the loud diesel engine. Xemnas and Roxas sprinted at him, full speed. They managed to get to the door just as Sephiroth began to pull out on to the road. Xamnas tried to open the door, only to find it locked. Seeing this, Roxas looked around him seeing a nearby flower bed. He grabbed one of the bricks surrounding it and chucked it through the window, shattering it. Xamnas reached through and unlocked the door, opening it and ripping his brother from the vehicle. Sephiroth fought and fought to try and get away. Roxas felt an extreme force hit his stomach, knocking the air out of him, then felt the same force to his head. Just like a dream, it all went black.

To Roxas, he had merely seemed to only blink before he found a blue eyed, brunet boy atop him, shaking him furiously. "Roxas," the boy's voice boomed. "Roxas! Roxas, are you ok?" Roxas' vision was blurred, his mind disoriented. Not to soon, his vision focused in. "Sora?" Roxas asked, confused. Realizing what was going on, he shot up, seeing an unconscious Sephiroth with a rather enraged Larxene above him, the same brick used to shatter the window in her hand. Roxas managed to fathom what had happened rather quickly. He hurried over to his father, searching his coat. He reached into Sephiroth's inner breast pocket, pulling out the stolen set of keys. Roxas turned to his uncle. "What did he do to me?"

Xemnas pointed to a metal pipe lying on the ground. "He knocked you dead across the face. More of a smack really."

Roxas brought his hand to his face. "Yeah... I feel it."

"I'll drive you two home," Larxene said. She turned to her husband. "Take care of him." She kicked Sephiroth hard in the ribs before walking off.

Sora gave Roxas a nervous look. "Are you ok," he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine..." He took a step towards Sora, only to find his vision going black. Sora hurried over to him, wrapping Roxas' arm around his neck. "Sure you are, Roxas." He carried Roxas off to Larxene's car, who drove the two home in silence. Roxas laid over the seats, his head in Sora's lap. Roxas seemed to drift off to sleep, snuggling close to Sora.

Upon arriving back in the condo complex, Larxene turned to face the two. "Do you need help getting him in," she asked, breaking the long silence.

"No," Roxas' voice sounded. "I can walk... I was comfy is all..."

Sora snickered. "So you faked fainting?"

"No... That was real. I woke up about ten minutes ago... I just didn't want to move." He sat up, rubbing the right side of his head. "God... that hurt..."

"Are you going to be alright," Larxene asked.

Roxas nodded. "I've felt worse..."

After bidding their fair wells, Sora helped Roxas up the walk way with little resistance. At the door, Roxas fished for his keys. Instead, his grandmother ripped the door open. She began to go frantic, speaking to fast for Roxas to register. Cloud joined in upon seeing him. Roxas, to disorinted to process what they were saying, tugged Sora forward, wanting only to rest his head. Sora obliged. After the door was shut, Roxas could remember no more. He only remembered waking up next to Sora, no recollection of when he even let his head hit the futon. It was all truly a blank.

AN: Alright... That took longer then I thought it would to type up. That last part would have been much more detailed but... It's all a blank. I just remember closing the door and then before I know it I'm sleeping next to James. I have no clue what to say. It's just a blank.
