Klaus' POV:
It was a few hours later when I got home, bringing Finn and his blood along with me.
I thought it would have been harder to get my brother to stay with us but Rebekah was right. All we really needed was Sage, and Finn would have stayed and switched sides.
I was about to go and collect the witch myself (since she was taking so long) when I heard someone knocking on the front door.
I smirked when I caught the smell of who it was. I quickly sped to the front door to open it for the Bennett witch.
"Hello Bonnie," I greeted pleasantly while opening the door wider for her to pass through, "How nice of you to join me this fine evening."
I still had the smirk plastered on my face even when she scowled in disgust as she pushed past me.
"This way," I gestured towards the study at the end of the hall where I knew we'll not get disrupted.
Before I follow the witch to the study, I heard a small groan of agony and a rattle of chains moving not that far from the entrance.
"I will be right back," I turned and headed towards the new sounds, "Look for the spell while I take care of some business," I called back to her without a glance.
I quickly found the source of the shout. It came from our ballroom – which had been cleared and cleaned of all evidence of the ball we hosted three weeks ago – in the form of one Damon Salvatore. He was hanging from some ceiling chains while my dear sister held a knife.
"Well isn't this a lovely surprise!" I announced when I step right behind Rebekah.
Rebekah froze for a moment (out of surprise, no doubt) before she whirled around and pressed the knife into my throat. She quickly relaxed her grip on the knife when she saw it was only me before she pulled it away. She moved back to stand in front of Damon.
"Don't do that Nik! How many times do I have to tell you? I could have hurt you," she reprimanded yet she couldn't keep the smile from spreading across her face. I couldn't blame her since I was smirking at her for her poor choice of an argument. It wasn't like a knife could truly hurt me.
"I couldn't not resist, the opportunity was right there," I chuckled before I looked Damon over, "So I see that you got Mr. Salvatore," I pause and noticed the pool of blood below his hanging body, "and trying to bleed him of vervain, I see, but don't you think it would be easier to hang him upside down?" I questioned.
"I am perfectly capable of inflicting pain, thank you very much. Now leave me be so I can continue," she murmured as she dragged the knife across Damon's chest, leaving a bloody mark in its wake.
"Excuse me, it's not like I don't have any expertise in the matter but enjoy this while you can. I expect someone to come and get him sometime soon and I want to use him as a bargaining chip." I stated. I hope Isa is happy about this; I am doing this for her after all.
"Do we have to? I'm having so much fun," she whined slightly.
"Yes we have to, so do what you want now while you have the chance," I smarted.
Rebekah pouted before she sighed and nodded, "Oh alright, goodbye Niklaus. I have much more fun to do in so little time," and with that said she started pushing me out of the room.
"Au revoir my dear sister…Damon," I chuckled as I walked out and headed towards the study. I needed to assist the witch in finding the spell, "And thank you for taking Damon out of my hands for me," I whispered so Damon wouldn't hear me as I left the room.
"Any luck love?" I asked as I walked towards my liquor cabinet to get some whiskey.
I heard her sigh in frustration and irritation before she answered me, "I found the spell, I just don't know if I'm strong enough to do it especially under stress."
"My mother channeled your energy to do the spell to link my family and me. Honestly I just think you aren't trying very hard." I murmured, taking out my phone to text Kol to get me a visual of the Gilbert boy.
"But how about some encouragement though? I do believe this will motivate you into doing that spell for me." I spoke and turned my phone over for her to see her beloved Jeremy on the screen after Kol texted me back.
"So Bonnie, how 'bout that spell" I demanded as I saw her start to panic a little before anger entered her eyes. She quickly went back to her grimoire to look at the spell more thoroughly.
I have been sitting in the study waiting for Bonnie to do the spell for a few hours now when I heard a particularly loud scream of pain that was loud enough for Bonnie to hear in the study, which was almost on the other side of the house.
"What was that?" She asked in slight fear that she couldn't hide from her voice.
"I wouldn't let that bother you love," I informed her.
"Well it does bother me. You bother me, in fact, everything about you bothers me. The way you use people for your own gain is disgusting," she said spitefully in return.
I raised my hand to my heart, a hurt expression inn place and mouthed "me?" during her little rant before I smiled slightly and answered her, "Well that's too bad and if I cared enough about what you said, I would have been hurt, but I don't."
"As for using people for my own gain, I do what I have to make sure no one dares to hurt my family. It just so happens that killing is an efficient way to get the message across. It's not my fault that some aren't smart enough to grasp the message the first time around." I paused to collect my thoughts, "So that also means that I would and will use the people you love as my pawns to get you to do the spell."
"I know that the spell needs the blood of my siblings," I told her as I turned around to get the bag on the counter that carried the blood of my siblings, "Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Finn," I pointed to each container with the blood as I said the names that it belonged to.
I bit into my wrist so she can get the last of the blood that was needed for the spell as Bonnie looked on in shock, "Where do you want us?" I inquired her.
I am running out of time, she needed to hurry. I think I started to get somewhat nervous on the little time I had left.
She stood there for a couple more seconds before she looked around for something. Once spotted, she moved to grab a clear chalice that was on the table next to her. She gestured for me to put my blood in the cup.
She placed the cup down and started to chant in what I assumed was the spell. She started to slowly put the blood of my siblings into the cup before the flames on the candles around the table start to flare.
I looked at the grandfather clock in the corner of the room. I had to resist the urge the fidget and stay static on the outside when I saw the time.
Two minutes, she was almost done, no need to worry, I mused because every time Isa got like this and everything didn't go as she had planned, something horrible always happened and it was never something small either.
Bonnie kept on chanting as she poured out the blood on the table. She was oblivious to the dangers the awaited everyone if she didn't finish the spell in time.
I saw the puddle of blood on the table start to separate into five different puddles, one for each of my siblings, until the blood was completely separated. Only then did the witch relax by putting her hands on her lap a few seconds before the clock struck 10:07.
"It's done," she confirmed before she collected her things.
As soon as the words were out, I grabbed my phone from my pocket and called Isa. It doesn't even ring when she answers the phone, "It's done."
I heard her sigh in relief on the other end of the line before she answered me quickly, "Thank you Klaus," she uttered before she hung up.
I remain impassive as I put my phone away so I don't give anything away to Bonnie.
Bonnie was already out the door of the study by the time I turned around, so I just followed her out to make sure she didn't take a detour on her way out. There was no way I was giving her a chance to cause any trouble in my home.
As we were walking towards the front door, we saw Rebekah coming out of the ballroom. She was cleaning her bloody hands on a towel, "Aw, leaving so soon?" she crooned.
"Sister," I smirked at her, "Be nice."
"Thank you Bonnie," she said in a sweet voice, "see you in Physics class." She smiled at her before leaving us.
"Oh my god," the witch muttered in shock when Rebekah's departure allowed her to see Damon hanging from the bear traps that hung from the ceiling.
"You'll have to excuse the mess, apparently Damon hurt her feelings," I smiled as I looked at the bloody handy work that Rebekah did on Damon.
"Go on Bonnie, save the man that turned your mother into a vampire," I goad her as Damon lifted his head to look at her.
She looked between me and him as she struggled to make a decision before she looked me in the eye and said,"Just get me out of here."
"Very well," I placed my hand on the small of her back and led her out of my home as Damon hung his head.
Well this was sure an interesting evening.
