"Why did Lippo listen to you?" Killua questioned.

Kurapika asked, "Who is Akita?"

"How hurt are you? You shouldn't keep it all in, you know."

"Who is this Soutaru?"

"Why do you get along with the examiners so well?"

And lastly, the question she dreaded the most, "Who are you really?"

Let's get started!

Shirru's P.O.V.

Hiro sighed and answered the questions one by one for Shirru. "Why did Lippo listen? Shirru is important to the chairman, so Lippo would listen to her. Who is Akita? A dog, just like how I'm a fox. How hurt she is? Very. Who is Soutaru? Her reason to become a hunter, also a hunter himself. " Hiro answered.

"You didn't answer the last two questions!" Leorio pointed out. "You didn't answer some of them good enough either," Kurapika added.

Hiro glanced at me. I shook my head, indicating a 'no, don't tell'.

Hiro turned back to the others and said, "That is classified information, and I have a right to not answer those questions to your liking."

"Shirru, what is your reason to become a hunter?" Gon questioned then explained, "Hiro told me that we never asked you why you wanted to become a hunter. It has something to do with Soutaru, right?"

I answered, but it was muffled by the couch.

"What?" Gon asked.

"Yes. It does have to do with Soutaru. My reason to become a hunter is all because of him. And why do I get along with the examiners so well? You'll find out in the final phase. Now, please leave me alone," I answered quietly.

"Who is this Soutaru to you?!" Killua questioned angrily.

"Someone special," I answered vaguely.

"That doesn't answer the question!"

"So? You don't need to know." I shrugged.

Killua gritted his teeth and his jaw tightened. "Aren't we your friends?!"

"Maybe. Maybe not."

"Fine then! I won't talk to you again!" Killua bursted. I nodded my head numbly and asked Hiro, "Can you stay?" "Of course," Hiro replied fondly.

I pulled one of the pillows and tried to go to sleep. I felt and saw Hiro hold my hand as sleep over took me.

Hiro's P.O.V.

I watched as Shirru fell asleep, I cursed them for causing Shirru so much pain. I slowly rubbed her cheek, wiping away the tear streaking down her face.

Anonymous P.O.V.

"Hey, long will it be till she finds you? How long will you keep on running away from her?" a feminine voice asked.

"Mami, I think it's close to the time that she will find me. I will stop running away once I hear news from the chairman or when she finds me," a teen with long platinum blonde hair in a low pony tail replied.

The man, 'Syo' sighed and pushed up his glasses.

"Syo, you should take a break. You need rest. You've been at paperwork for the past few days without much sleep," a young girl stated worriedly. 'Syo' stopped signing papers for a second and looked the young girl with straight, spiky, shoulder length ice-blue hair and deep red eyes that contrasted with her pale skin.

"Thanks for your worry, but I'm just fine, Hiromi," the teen replied.

"When will I get to see nii-san again?" Hiromi questioned tilting her head. 'Syo' chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"Soon Hiromi. Soon," 'Syo' replied vaguely. Hiromi looked at the floor as she muttered, "Okay..."

"Don't be like that, cheer up and I'll take a break so that we can spend the afternoon wherever you want to go, okay?"

Hiromi instantly cheered up and chirped, "Okay, thank you, Syo!"

Back with Shirru-Nobody's P.O.V.

Shirru slept while Gon tried to convince Killua that Shirru and Hiro had their reasons for what they were doing.

"I don't care!" Is what Killua stated to Gon angrily.

"Why do you not like Shirru, Killua?" Kurapika questioned, not taking his eyes away from the book he was reading."It's none of your business.." Killua muttered.

"Killua, please tell us!" Gon pleaded, using his puppy eyes. Killua gave in at the sight of the puppy eyes and started explaining.

"Shirru's too distant and is hard to read. Sometimes she seems like a friend but in a split-second, she turns into a enemy or someone to be careful around. You never know which side she is on. I feel like she's hiding things from us. I think that she was lying to us the whole time she knew us and it's hard to tell if she really is lying or not," Killua explained.

"To me, Hiro is someone you can't trust. He's also mysterious and hard to read. Plus, he's plain annoying. He always defends Shirru as if she can break easily or is a fragile doll. Isn't it weird that Hiro is actually a fox that can turn into a human? Haven't you ever wondered why Shirru kept her purple eye covered?" Killua finished.

Hiro spoke up. "I'm not asleep you know. Only Shirru was." The gang turned to look at the two, ignoring Tonpa.

Shirru shifted in her sleep, her grip tightening on the pillow and Hiro's hand.

Hiro flinched, but leaned forward and whispered some words to Shirru. Shirru calmed down slowly, but quick enough that Hiro didn't loose his blood flow. The gang just watched the exchange quietly.

Hiro straightened and stated, "It's rude to talk about someone behind their back. You do know that don't you?"

Gon rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and voiced out an, "Sorry." While Killua fumed and said, "So what?"

Hiro just shook his head and stayed silent, continuing to watch over Shirru.

Shirru's dream

"Daddy, why do your eyes turn red even though they were green?" Little me asked.

"Because Daddy has some Kuruta blood in him!" Sou-nii exclaimed. Daddy chuckled and ruffled our hair.

"That's right,"

"What is a Kuruta?" Little me questioned, tilting her head.

Daddy started explaining, "The Kuruta clan is famous for it's scarlet eyes, mine are crimson because I'm not a full Kuruta. The Kuruta eye color is one of the world's seven most beautiful colors. If a Kuruta wants to explore the world then they have to go through multiple trials. The first is a written exam. Second is a oral questionaire. Third is the hardest. They have to go into town and buy groceries without getting angry or upset. They will know if you get angry or upset by a special eye-drop that they make. The eye-drop makes the eye stay scarlet for a long time, even after the person calmed down. Your great grandfather took the trial and passed, that's why I'm here and it's why you both are here."

"Does that mean that my eyes can go red?!" Little me asked, eyes bright with exitement.

"Maybe, we don't know yet. Soutaru can, but it rarely happens."

"Hey, Daddy-" A ear piercing scream interrupted little me's sentence.

Daddy stood, panic clear on his face, his eyes crimson. "Elina!" Daddy shouted Sou-nii and my mother's name.

"Soutaru, Shirru, stay here, and no matter what, don't come after me! If I don't return by tonight, run away!" Daddy commanded, rushing out of the house, slamming the door behind him.

"Sou-nii, why is-" Soutaru cut me off.

"Everything will be alright, Shirru." Little me's eyes widened. Soutaru only called me by my full name only when he was serious or when something was bad.

Sou-nii went down to the basement and gathered thing that we would need and lots of money.

More ear piercing screams resounded. Sou-nii held little me tight while little me flinched every time there was a scream. After what felt like years, the screams stopped, but something replaced it. Little me smelled it.

Smoke.

Sou-nii picked little me up and ran to the nearest town. We rested in a inn, and by the time night took over, Daddy didn't come. Little me started crying, thinking of the worst. Thinking of the negatives.

Little me cried herself to sleep, Sou-nii's arms wrapped around her. In the morning Sou-nii took her with him to where daddy ran off to.

When we arrived, she cried once more with a look of terror on her face.

The village where great grandpa grew up in was in ashes.

People littered the ground, covered in blood, eyes gone. Their eyes were gone! On one of the people, little me saw a mark burned on him. A spider with twelve legs, a body, and a head.

"Phantom Troupe..." Sou-nii growled. We traveled through the village slowly. Little me fell on her knees.

"Daddy! Mommy!" Little me cried out. Daddy and Mommy both had their eyes gone. They were covered in blood.

"NOOO! I hate you, Phantom Troupe!"

Dream end

Nobody's P.O.V.

"NOOO! I hate you, Phantom troupe!"

The shout echoed through the small room. Kurapika's eyes went scarlet. Heads turned to Shirru who bolted into a sitting position, covering her ears and bringing her knees to her chin. She rocked back and forth, crying. But that wasn't what shocked them.

Shirru had scarlet eyes.
