A/N: And another chapter! I'm sorry to say that there are only four chapters left. Well, once I finish with this one, I can work on finishing my other ones! I also have an interesting proposition for you all, so make sure to read the author's note at the end.

"How is she doing?" Karen asked over the phone.

Blade stood in Abigail's living room using his shoulder to hold the receiver up as he searched the apartment.

"She's asleep for now. I injected her with a mild sedative, so she'll be out for a few hours."

"What are you going to do with her? I have friend back in the States who can help her."

Blade shook his friend even though his friend could not see it. "If she even suspects that I'm taking her to a mental hospital, she'll bolt. I'm really not sure what to do."

"But she needs help Blade. She's suffering from retrograde amnesia and shock. Her mental health has been deteriorating, and she's making impulsive and dangerous decisions. You can't give her the care she needs."

Blade knew Karen spoke reason, but the norm didn't apply to Abigail. She wouldn't react the same way to treatment like others. However, she did need professional help.

"I'll take her if things worsen. Until then, tell me what I need to know to help her."

Abby woke up groggy. She saw several water bottles by her bed and greedily gulped down the cool liquid.

When she was halfway done with the second bottle, she tried to piece together the memories of the previous day.

King was dead. He had been for quite a while. She didn't want to believe it. They hadn't survived everything just to be defeated by some lucky familiars.

She swore he had been kidnapped, but there was nothing to back that up anymore. Blade had shown her the police reports and the pictures to accompany them.

Shortly after, he had to stick her with a needle. She vaguely remembered attacking him. It was doubtful that she had done any damage to him.

What would she do now? Her life was over. Everyone except Blade was gone, and she knew he wouldn't be around for much longer. He deserved to have his normal life back, and so did Karen.

She wished that she could see Zoe one last time, but the chances of that happening were unlikely. Zoe's aunt wanted nothing to do with them, and she wanted Zoe to have a normal life.

Deep down, Abby couldn't blame the woman. She lost her sister and brother-in-law to vampires, and now she only had a niece. Abby knew she would do the same.

She crossed her legs on the bed and hugged her pillow. She could hear Blade moving around downstairs, but she didn't feel like talking to him yet. He had done so much for her already, and she had reacted poorly each time. She wished she could apologize, but she didn't have that much courage to face him.

Under the shock of remembering King's true demise, she felt embarrassed. She led Blade on a wild goose chase for months. How was she ever going to face him again?

Tears slipped from her eyes and onto the pillow. "I'm sorry," she whispered. She fell back against the bed and kept the pillow against her chest.

"What do I do now?"

Blade looked up from a book as she heard Abby descending the stairs. The clear look in her eyes was a relief. He was afraid that he'd have to sedate her again.

She crossed the living room and sat across from him. "So what happens now?"

"You need help, Abby. I don't know what to do. I can only help you so much. You need professional help."

Abby vehemently shook her head. "No. They'll put me in a mental hospital, and those are awful. It wouldn't help me at all."

"Abby, you've been dealing with impulsive and suicidal actions for months now. Every time I try to knock some sense into you, you fight me every step of the way. I only know so much about what you're going through."

"Then help me through this!" she yelled.

"I will!" Blade said. "But you also need to understand that this isn't going to be easy, especially for you. You grew up in a normal life with a normal family. This was a decision for you, but not for the others. King, Caulder, Zoe, and the others were forced into this world. Even your father and I were victims of vampires. You weren't."

"I know!" she protested.

"No, you don't!" Blade snapped. "Every person except for you knew what they were signing up for, and we didn't care. We were at the end of our wits and patience. It was our last resort, so we were willing to give everything up to fight for a cause that hurt us. You didn't. You chose this, not understanding the motivation behind everyone else."

"We were all able to adapt because we were all put in a live or die situation, and we chose to fight. You weren't, and that's why you're suffering. You chose this life not understanding what it took. Whistler is partly to blame for not fully informing you about this life. It's not as easy as a choice, Abby," he continued.

He looked up to see tears forming in her eyes. He watched as they slid down her cheek.

"What do I do then?" Abby asked, her voice barely audible.

"Listen to me. I can help you, but eventually you will need to talk to an actual doctor. The one who had been given your case is still willing to help you. Will you do that?"

Abby sniffled and nodded.

Blade sighed and sat back. "Okay, that's a start."

A/N: Sorry that it's a bit shorter, but it felt like the right place to end it. Now onto my proposition:

I've noticed that only a minority of people support the same crack pairings that I do (they honestly should have been canon), but there are people who have requested these pairings. So I was wondering if you guys would like a story that is a just a bunch of one-shots of non-canon pairings. In my mind, I'd be doing Blade/Krista, Blade/Chase, Blade/Abby. I am all for these pairings, and I haven't seen any stories address any of them. I am definitely going to write fics for these pairings, but you guys get to decide if it's going to be a series of one-shots or should each pairing have it's own story. Now, these won't happen until I finish the other stories on here.

I just thought that I'd throw it out there. Have a nice day!
