A/N: So we've reached the end. It's been along ride, and I am thankful that you guys have stayed with me. Just a quick note, there will be no updates to any of my stories in November. I will be doing NaNoWriMo, so I will be busy for that entire month. After that, I will be working on Unrest and a Once Upon a Time story.
I am glad that I finished another story on here, and I look forward to finishing some more. Thank you all! You have been wonderful and loyal followers/reviewers. I couldn't have finished without you guys. I love you all! Now sit back and enjoy the very last chapter of Blade Quadrinity!
Abby stood before Drake.
"You wanted Blade, but that's not going to happen. He's going to get a fresh start and have a happy life. I, on the other hand, am pissed. I went to see my family for the first time in years, and two of your minions attacked me."
"I have been told that the male was a bit much. He paid for it with his life, so I don't see what the problem is," Drake responded.
"Am I going to have to live the rest of my life with vampires trailing me? Is Blade? Because that fucking sucks after everything we went through."
Drake chuckled. "It depends. I needed Blade for something, but it seems that he is harder to track down. You'll do."
"I'll do for what?"
"I need the Daystar virus," Drake said simply. Abby's jaw nearly dropped to the floor.
"For what?! What we had is now gone! It didn't work."
Drake shook his head. "Sure it did. Just not on the international scale you were hoping. You see, I intend to whip the vampire race into shape. We're a joke now with movies that show us sparkling! I need it to keep my race in line. They won't slip up if the threat of imminent death hangs over their heads."
"Hold on there, Hitler. What makes you think that I or Blade know what went into Daystar? You killed the person that created it."
Drake held up a flashdrive and tossed it to her. "I have all the data I need, but I need an overseer to make sure it's working correctly."
"It didn't work on you," Abby said.
"My body was designed to evolve."
"So you want me to help you make your entire race subservient to you?" Abby asked. Her mind was processing this all rather well, but she was still wary.
"Yes, what do you want in exchange?"
Abby thought about for a moment. "We need a contract, but Blade gets left alone. After this project is over, I get to return to a normal life."
Drake laughed. "I agree to your terms, but I doubt that you'll want to leave. It's in your blood to see this through for the rest of your life."
"I doubt that," Abby said with a sneer.
Epilogue- Ten Years Later
Blade and Karen
Blade sat on the cold floor with his head against the bathtub. He tried to keep himself from dozing off as his wife hugged the porcelain toilet.
"Just take the test!" he said after she recovered from her last heaving session.
"No," she replied weakly. She moved next to him and placed her head on his shoulder.
"Why not?" he asked and kissed her forehead.
"Because I'm not pregnant. Even if I was, we're not ready for this. I'm not even in the safe age range for this. A million things could go wrong, and I could end up dead."
"We won't know what to do until we know for sure," Blade said. "If you're pregnant, and it's not something that you want, we can take care of it. We don't have to have kids. I will always love you regardless."
His wife peered into his eyes and sighed.
"Fine," she said. "I'll take the damn test."
Abigail
She attacked the first person she saw when she awoke. Her lightening fast movements were new to her as she tried to scratch his eyes out. Still, she was slower than him.
He had her pinned to the bed in seconds, and she continued to struggle.
"I told you to let me die!" she cried. Tears streamed from her eyes as she fought to get away from him.
"I couldn't let the woman I love die!" Drake countered, and Abby took the distraction to knee him on the groin. When he rolled off her in pain, she punched him in the jaw.
"Stop saying that! You are a monster, and you aren't capable of love. Did you think that maybe I wanted to die?! The world doesn't revolve around you!" she screamed.
She climbed off the bed and zoomed to the mirror. The sight of the dried blood on her neck made her sick.
"I never wanted to be this," she growled as she took in her vampire like appearance. "Change me back!"
"I can't," Drake said. He reached out to touch her, but she slapped his hands away. "You can still live a normal life. I was the one that turned you, so you can still enjoy the sun."
"But I'm now allergic to silver and garlic, and I have to fucking drink blood to survive!" Abby was two seconds away from ripping her hair out.
"I couldn't let you go. I can't be sorry for that," Drake responded. Abby hissed at him.
"What we had was sex, nothing more. I don't know where you got these ridiculous notions of love!"
This whole partnership had been a mistake. She had only taken the position to ensure a normal life for her, Blade, and Karen. She only went to Drake's bed when she was desperate and lonely. Her work didn't really leave time for a social life, so she lowered her standards. She was now paying the price for that.
"I told you things that were sacred to me. You came to me when your mother died, and you cried yourself to sleep in my arms. You kissed me after the funeral, and you let me take you on a vacation to get away from it all. Remember how we made love on the private beach? Remember how many times we went out to dinner and you let me hold your hand? Remember when you whispered those same three words to me one night as you passed out from pleasure? That's where my silly notion of love came from!" Drake yelled back.
He watched as his lover regarded him with cold eyes.
"It was a mistake. All of it. I can't ever love someone like you. Someone who would turn me into the thing I hate the most."
Drake groaned. "It was an impulsive decision, but I don't regret it. You were going to die, and I couldn't bear the thought of living without you by my side. It was selfish, but it was the right choice. You'll see that in time."
"I doubt that," Abby replied.
A/N: And it's finally over! Thank you all for everything, and I'll see you in December! Much love to you all!
