Hey everybody! Hehe. Been a while huh? woops... When I saw my last update for this was thanksgiving I was like, 'Well, sh*t. And to clarify one thing Eiji and the others are their normal anime ages, Ryoma is the only one so far who is different and he is 4 to be clear.

His breathing returned to a slow and even pace as he fell into sleep. Nanami sat and waited patiently with Matsuo next to her refusing to let anything go unnoticed. It really was sweet but Matsuo was getting worried for her.
He was getting tired just watching the nurse checking machines and writing things down on her clipboard.
"Nanami-chan please, it's getting late. I think you should go home and get some rest."
"But I have to stay! I-"
"No you don't Nanami-chan…You're shift ended an hour ago and you've worked all day. Now I know you want to stay but I won't allow it, you're probably exhausted and you have a family waiting for you at home." Matsuo gave her a sad but commanding look that expressed exactly what he was feeling.
Nanami looked back to Ryoma and took a deep breath clearing her thoughts, "I'll be back, don't worry" she said as she brushed a stray piece of hair out of the way.
Moving past Matsuo's chair she made her way to the door but not before he could stop her.
"If it makes you feel any better, I'll stay with him until you get back. I don't have any more work right now and the nurses on duty should be able to handle everything."
Nanami nodded "Thank you, I won't be long!" Nanami quickly gathered her things from the staff locker room and went home.
Opening the front door to the house, Nanami noticed the lights still on in the living room. Quickly making her way in she couldn't help but smile.
All the boys were sitting on the couch looking half asleep at the TV. that was playing the end of a movie.
"Why are you guys still up?" she asked.
"84 percent chance you would be home before midnight." Sadaharu said sleepily.
"…What he's trying to say is we wanted to wait for you." Taka said with his sheepish smile.
"Saa, looks like he was right, you did come home." Syuusuke said.
"Data never lies." Sadaharu muttered back as he penciled something into his green notebook.
"You didn't have to do that, now you guys will be exhausted in the morning." She said worriedly.
"But we had to!" Eiji argued, slouched against Syuichiro.
"I thought he was sleeping?" Takeshi said confused.
"He is." Syuichiro replied as he sweat-dropped at his brother who was now talking in his sleep.
Nanami just smiled even more, 'I'm glad I came home, I love them all so much.' "Alright, now that I'm home I want all of you upstairs and in bed, no detours got it? Good, now march all of you."
As soon as she said this there was a slight groan that came from the room as one by one each pulled themselves off the couch.
"Goodnight." "'Night." As each passed their mother and said this with sleep in their eyes she chuckled.
Syuusuke stood and helped poor Syuichiro who had a sleeping Kikumaru to carry up to his room.
Takeshi and Kaoru leaned against each other to keep themselves up but at the same time were trying to shove each other off, claiming the other was in the way. With no luck they kept leaning on each others shoulders, too exhausted to keep the fight going.
Sadaharu, Taka and Kunimitsu simply followed behind, making their way to their rooms as well.
With everyone upstairs Nanami turned back to the couch to see her husband sitting with sleepy eyes staring at the TV. Going over she plopped herself next to him with a sigh, Kenta laying his hand down for her to hold as they finished the last of the movie that was playing.
As the credits came down the screen Kenta turned to Nanami and said, "How did work go?"
"Well that boy, the new one, Ryoma, finally woke up but he was absolutely terrified. He was shaking and crying and …I wasn't sure what to do. He ended up holding my finger until he fell back asleep and after that Matsuo told me to leave since my shift was over. Before I left he said he would watch over him so I want to go back as soon as I can."
Heaving a long, tired sigh she put her head down on his shoulder. Kenta took her hand and intertwined their fingers locking them together.
He looked at her sweetly, "Don't worry, I'm sure things will get better. After-all I've been assigned to him as his psychologists, so you know things will go right!" He said a little jokingly but more to reassure her. "Now come on, you need to rest as well then you can go back. I don't think Matsuo-san want's any of his nurses to be half-asleep."
Nanami nodded as her eyes began to droop with sleep. 'Not really what I was aiming for…' Kenta thought but brushed the thought away as he was just happy to be with his wife and let a soft smile appear.
Back at the hospital around the same time there was a soft knock on the door to Ryoma's room. Matsuo silently thanked the person on the other side for being considerate and got up to open it.
A couple whispers could be heard as they exchanged words before Matsuo paused to take a good look at Ryoma who was still sleeping in his bed.
A nurse had come looking for his help with another patient who had shown change on their charts and she wanted him to come to different room to make a final decision.
'It'll only be a minute or two, no more, and then I'll come back.' Matsuo said to himself. Taking his lab coat off the chair he had been sitting on he quickly made his way out of the room and followed the nurse down the hall.
It had been two minutes…four minutes…ten minutes. Matsuo was getting slightly impatient as time ticked away and he couldn't focus properly knowing he wasn't supposed to leave Ryoma in the room by himself.
He promised Nanami and he was hoping for his dear life that Ryoma wouldn't wake up when he wasn't there. He didn't want to think that one of his patients was more important than the other but how couldn't he when he kept getting this strong feeling to protect.
Almost like it was his duty to protect him and do more than just heal him, he was beginning to think it was contagious because from the looks of it Nanami was feeling the same thing.
'I can't be that unlucky though, can I? He's probably sleeping.' were his last thoughts before returning his mind to the patient in front of him.
Ryoma had found himself standing in the middle of a nightmare and wanted out immediately.
It was dark everywhere and the only thing he could see was his front door from the front hallway. It was quiet and with each step he made towards the door the sound of his feet echoed into the darkness.
It wasn't until he was about to grab the door knob that loud knocking started, scaring the boy terribly. Roma had been quickly reduced to a trembling ball on the floor as the knocks got louder and louder and all he could do was sit in front of it, too afraid to answer.
It was exactly like when the scary man had come to his happy home and ruined everything just by letting him in. That was it, it was the man again, trying to get in!
Ryoma knew that second that no matter what he wasn't going to open that door, 'Don't open'! Although it didn't help because minutes passed and the knocking continued, haunting Ryoma's thoughts.
'Go Away!' Ryoma would shout in fright. 'Go Away, Go Away!' He repeated at the noise. 'Go away…please, don't hurt mommy and daddy.' He began to sob and tightly hug his knees to his chest in comfort, but nothing would help.
Soon the door smashed open and the end of his dream finally came as he woke up in his hospital bed like before.
He shot up into sitting position as he gripped the bed sheets but quickly regretted the movement. Pain shot through him like fire and he winced even more trying not to shout from the large amount of pain he was feeling.
Once it came to a dull throb he looked around the room and saw no one there. 'Where that lady go?' He thought sadly.
He hated to admit this to himself but he wanted someone with him and she was really nice. Being alone wasn't something he liked because he always had company to keep him busy.
Even in his bed at home he had the company of his cat Karupin, she would always curl up beside her master for warmth and the two would sleep together. Now that he was here there was no one to accompany him but the sounds of the machines beside him.
Suddenly the creaking of the door opening jogged him out of his thoughts and he could hear the rough unmistakable voice of men talking outside the door.
Ryoma threw himself back down on the bed and pulled the covers over his head. The door opened wider and wider letting the light from the hall in, along with the sound of footsteps.
He clenched his eyes closed, too afraid to see the faces that haunt him in his nightmares.
'They might come back… what if they come back. The bad guys will come.' Tears began to fall down his pink cheeks at the thoughts in his head. His fingers gripped the sheets tightly as he helplessly waited under the covers.
There was a soft click when the door closed and he could hear feet shuffle over to the side of his bed. There was silence and he opened one eye, curious, but quickly opened both eyes as he felt a hand grab his shoulder.
The hand was large and he could see the shadow of the other hand coming towards his face. Ryoma's breath quickened and he began to hyperventilate from the fear of what was soon to come.
Just as quickly, the sheets were ripped away and out of his grip leaving him in the open.
"Ryoma-kun, what's wrong?" came a surprisingly gentle voice. Ryoma tried to focus on the blurry figure in front of him and when he looked he saw a man with soft brown hair and a worried face staring down at him.
"What were you doing under there, what's the matter?" After he said that Ryoma burst into tears of relief, letting all the tension and anxiety out of his body.
"B-Bad guy, n-not here." He sobbed and the mans face changed to slight horror at his realization. The man bent down, sitting on the side and scooped Ryoma into a hug.
"My name is Matsuo and I'm not here to hurt you so don't worry. The bad guys won't be able to reach you here, not with me and my friends to help, okay?" Matsuo felt the small head nod against his chest as his crying was slowly turned into sniffles.
'I knew I had been gone for too long, Nanami is going to be furious with me, yikes. Not only did I leave him alone but he ended up so scared by himself he was about ready to have a panic attack.' Matsuo gently laid Ryoma down on the bed again, feeling horrible for taking so long.
He took Ryoma's hand in his and made sure his I.V was still in place, 'Check. Well I'm glad he didn't rip that out, that could have been painful.' Matsuo sighed.
Now noticing the time Matsuo looked even more guilty. Matsuo had spent more time than he originally thought in the other patients room, about an hour to be exact.
'Just how long did I leave him in here afraid?' "Ryoma-kun?" Ryoma turned to look at Matsuo with his big golden eyes and Matsuo wanted to melt.
His eyes were like gold that could glow even in the darkest of places. It was truly hypnotizing because Matsuo had to pause to regain his train of thought.
"I need to check your bandages and if they need to be, change them. Could you help me?" Ryoma nodded and sat up again.
Matsuo quickly checked over the bandages and changed them, seeing how uncomfortable Ryoma looked.
"There, all done." Matsuo said. When Ryoma was lying back in place with the blankets over him he wasn't sure what to do next.
"Will you stay here?" He heard Ryoma's quiet voice ask.
"Yes, of course. Um, Nanami-chan said she would come back but in the meantime I'll stay with you. Now Ryoma-kun, tell me, what do you like to do for fun?" Matsuo asked and noticed from the spark in his eyes that he could at least distract him for a bit.
