OK, guys! I've decided that the dress that Punzie's gonna pick is . . . *insert drumroll* . . . . the purple dress with the silver glitter stars! Thanks to WolfieRed23 and Roseline James for helping me decide!
Chapter 22
Rapunzel Corona
"I choose . . . ." I scrunched up my face in concentration. "The purple dress with silver glitter."
Jack smiled. "Good choice. I bet you'll look great in it the night of the dance."
"Only way to find out is to buy it and wear it." I smiled back. This was going to be perfect.
My knee bounced as I glanced at the clock for the hundredth time during chemistry class. I was wearing a cream-colored blouse, a lacy hot pink skirt, light pink leggings, and pink heels. A hair pin in the shape of a black hat with a hot pink feather and a rose on it sat on the side of my head, dipping sideways. This Friday. The dance. It was only four more days away!
As the teacher went on and on about how we'd be doing a chemical lab next week, a note landed on my desk.
Guess who's taking me to the Snow Ball this week! ~H
I looked up and saw Heather smile at me. I responded quickly:
Snotlout?
Yeah! And I bet you and Jack are going to be the most fabulous couple there! ;)
You really think so?
I know so. Anyway, do you think I should go with the shimmery gold gown or the faux fur dress?
Faux fur, for sure! It shows off your legs.
Thanks, R. SO nervous for the end of the week! Will it be magical?
I'm sure it will be. I think we should stop. I just saw the professor's head turn our way.
The rest of the week was a huge blur, full of homework and classes and expo markers and lunches. Then came the night of my dreams: the night of the Snow Ball. At first, Mother was reluctant to let me go, but when I cried and pleaded and begged my heart out, she finally, grudgingly, agreed.
"But you have to be home by midnight!" she warned, arching a perfectly penciled eyebrow. "Or no more school activities for you." I nodded my head solemnly before tackling her into a huge hug.
"Thank you," I murmured into her hair.
Now, I sat at my vanity, brushing my blonde hair carefully, humming a Taylor Swift song softly. I was in my new purple dress and loved the way the silver glimmered and gleamed in the bright light. Mother came up to my room and smiled at me in the mirror as she did my hair. Having a hairdresser for a mom was a great advantage for girls like me. She was curling my hair into ringlets.
"You know, I've always wanted blonde hair, as golden and pretty as yours." She smiled wistfully at me in the mirror as she moussed up my hair.
I smiled a little back and examined my nails. I had chosen to create combination of blue and silver nail polishes so it looked like there was a mini blizzard on my nails.
"There. Done." I looked up and saw my hair curled and styled perfectly, on top of my head and spilling delicately around my face. I grinned widely and told her I loved it. She hugged me and shooed me out the door for my "big night".
I walked down the stairs carefully and opened the door and walked into the dark night.
Shorter chapter, I know. But I promise: the dance is coming soon! ;D Adios, readers!
