I really have no valid excuse for updating so late. Holy crap did I really not update this since CHRISTMAS?! I'm so sorry. :P Updated the picture for this story, too… Okay… Let's see if I've still got my writing skills after that horribly long break. Ready? Here we go…
"Well isn't that appropriate," Becca frowned. "Since I feel so sour."
Siddeley wasn't sure whether to laugh or agree with her. He ended up scoffing, "Heh."
It was silent in the room for a few minutes until Siddeley timidly spoke up.
"Are, uh… Are you hungry?"
Becca turned her eyes towards him.
"Yeah… Kinda." She replied.
"I could… Find you something." Siddeley suggested.
"That'd be great." Becca smiled. Siddeley returned the look, stood, and left the room.
He stepped into Becca's kitchen, and frowned.
Okay, he thought to himself. Now where does she keep everything…?
…
"I feel like those guys in Pokemon." Acer told his cousin.
"Why…?" Grem looked at him strangely.
"We're wearing horrible disguises that we can be easily recognized in but since we aren't drawing attention to ourselves we blend in fine." Acer answered with a frown.
Grem stared at him for a moment. "You know these disguises were your damn idea, right?"
"…yeah…" Acer said with a distant expression.
"Are y'all ready to order?" The cousins were interrupted.
"Uh, yeah, thanks. I'll have the steak." Grem answered the pale blonde waitress in green.
"I'll just have… Uh… Screw it. Can I have a bacon cheeseburger?" Acer asked.
"Sure, comin' right up." Flo smiled and walked off.
"Heads up, the Sheriff just walked in." Grem announced quietly.
Acer glanced towards the door and ducked his head down under his menu. Grem did the same.
"Wait a minute… What the heck is this?" Acer asked, lowering his menu and looking intently at one of the meals.
"What?" Grem asked, putting his menu down to look at Acer's.
"This." Acer pointed with his finger. "It says, "Customer's Choose Week Special, Nugget… In a Biscuit"?" He read off the menu.
"This town is weird, man." Grem sighed, leaning back against the booth.
"Yeah, but… Like, the kind of weird that I wouldn't mind living in." Acer replied casually. "Would be hell of a lot better than the Lemon base."
"Yeah…" Grem guiltily replied. "Anyway," he shook his head from longing thoughts. "Where do you think the girl is? I don't think the fever's bad enough for her to be in the hospital, yet."
"Wouldn't hurt to check." Acer frowned.
Just then, two plates were practically thrown in front of them by a teenager in red—her nametag read Mia. "Here ya go." She said, and was gone.
"Jeez, great service." Grem sarcastically said once she had left.
"Well, the owner was nice." Acer shrugged.
"She's still upset about McQueen gettin' married." Flo laughed, overhearing Grem's remark as she walked by, trays in hands.
"Well, that answers that." Grem's eyebrows raised.
Acer took a large bite of his cheeseburger. "Mm, bacon…" He sighed. "Delicious little pigs."
Grem's eyebrows scrunched up as he looked at his cousin strangely. One of his eyebrows raised.
"What?" Acer asked.
"…nothing. Just wondering if you stole Larry's PS4 again." Grem replied, cutting a bite off his steak.
"…no…" Acer looked down at his cheeseburger.
"Sure." Grem replied, taking a bite of his own lunch.
…
Siddeley picked up his ringing cellphone. "Hm?" He hummed as he glanced at the caller ID. It read "Holley".
"Hello?" He answered.
"How's Becca doing?" Holley asked on the other end.
"Eh… Not so good." Siddeley frowned. "She tried to eat some crackers, but lost her appetite and now she's nauseous." He sighed. "Any luck on your part?"
"We've managed to get some CHROME agents at the base looking for the virus when we couldn't find it ourselves. Luckily, they found the syringe that had the virus in it. Unfortunately… They're having a bit of trouble analyzing it."
"Hm." Siddeley answered.
"What?" Holley asked someone on the other end. "Really? Are you sure?" She asked again, then sighed. "Alright. Thank you."
"What is it?" Siddeley asked, a sense of urgency in his voice.
"At this point, it could be one of six viruses." Holley replied.
Siddeley ran his hand through his hair. "That's it?"
"They're working as fast as they can! But…" Holley sighed. "Look, they even called another expert in from Russia. Just… Be patient, all right?"
"Yeah." Siddeley replied, looking over at Becca's sleeping figure. "I'll be patient." He pressed his lips together in disappointment and hung up.
Alright, give 'em to me. Give me those "FINALLY" "IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME" "JEEZ THIS TOOK YOU A WHILE" reviews. I'm ready. xD
