Tomorrow's Son

The Funeral.

Naruto, Hinata, and Jiraiya arrived at the Hokage's office.

"We were attacked by the future version of Sakura we told you about," said Naruto, "and

we had to kill her in self defense."

"I see," said Tsunade, "Where is the body?"

"In the field just out side the training area," said Hinata, "Here face is covered with

Naruto's Jacket.

Tsunade then sent a special opts team to retrieve the body perform a DNA scan on it.

Several hours latter the DNA report was delivered to Tsunade, who called in

Naruto, Hinata, and Jiraiya.

"She is definitely an older version of Sakura," said Tsunade, "This bring up the question of what to do with the body. We'll just have to quietly bury her in cemetery with a blank marker."

Naruto, Hinata, and Jiraiya looked each other with out saying a thing but looking at each other in away that said, "That answers that question."

"One thing," said Tsunade, "I'm giving you strict orders not to tell any one the identity of the person buried in that grave and especially don't tell Sakura."

Tsunade, Naruto, Hinata, Jiraiya and a few of Tsunade's staff attended the private burial service with a priest presiding. During the service the deceased's name was never mentioned. After committing the older Sakura's body to the ground the left.

However unknown to every one the present day Sakura was secretly watching from a distance.

Later that day Sakura confronted Naruto, Hinata, and Jiraiya.

"OK, you three what is going on?" demanded Sakura.

"What do you mean?" responded Naruto.

"A few day ago," answered Sakura, "Jiraiya shows up out of no where. He looks a lot like Naruto but he has Byakugan eyes. At same time despite you the fact that for years you seemed to have barely notice Hinata, you and her are now real cozy, and even planning a date. Not only that but Hinata who has been shy all her life has suddenly opened up and in particular to you. In fact the three of you seem to be just one be happy family. I know that Tsunade has assigned you two too look after Jiraiya, but that dose not explain everything else. Not only that I had a strange woman who reminded me of my mother, claim to be me from the future and even gave me a written copy of some form of time jutsu. Now today you attend a funeral for some unknown person. I just want to know what's going on, and don't give me that story about Jiraiya being your cousin."

"We can't," said Naruto.

"You can't," responded Sakura, "or you won't. …Tsunade, she told you not to tell me. I know you can tell me."

Later in the Hokage's office Sakura looked her mentor in the eye and pounded a dent into the deck. "I want the truth," demanded Sakura.

"You are going to have to be a little more specific," replied Tsunade feeling a little afraid, "The truth is a rather broad topic."

"I want the truth about Jiraiya," demanded Sakura, "And don't give me that #%# line about him being Naruto's cousin. There is no way that Naruto's cousin would have Byakugan eyes. After all only one clan has…those…eyes. Wait a moment, there is only one possible way that Jiraiya could look so much like Naruto and have Byakugans… He has to be Naruto's and Hinata's son from the future. That would also explain their behavior as well. Further more the woman that was secretly buried today was my future self, wasn't it."

Tsunade sighed and responded, "You figured it out, I did not want to tell you because we did not know how it would effect the future, but since you figured it out there is no sense in denying it. You are dead on. Jiraiya is Naruto's and Hinata's son from 25 years in the future. In that future He's Hokage and the world is quite peaceful as a result. "

"But I become a raving psychopath," responded Sakura.

Maybe not now that you know, you might avoid it." said Tsunade, "Time travel has a lot of unknowns."

Later that day Sakura runs into is Naruto, Hinata and Jiraiya.

"So how's the Happy little family doing," said Sakura with a touch of sarcasm.

"What are you talking about," responded Naruto, "We're not a family."

"Not yet," returned Sakura, "But 25 years from now… It ok to talk about it with me, I figured it out and Tsunade filled the some of the details. Here a letter from Tsunade rescinding her order not to talk to me about this."

"That's a relief," said Naruto, "I did like not being able to tell you truth."

"Well if it helps," said Sakura, "I happy to see the two of you get together. So when's your first date?"

"Tomorrow at lunch," said Hinata with smile and obvious blush.

Great, thought Sakura, looks like I won the village pool.
