So I just realized how long it's been since I last updated this story, and it's pretty sad. So if you remember this or are even just reading this for the first time I just want to thank you for reading.
Macy's POV
I was beginning to regret my decision. I'm not sure why I thought coming back to the mall in the first place was a good idea. But something about the warmth and sincerity of Carter's smile made want to follow him. I needed some sincerity in my life. But now, after a countless number of awkward glances at Leom and a few barely noticeable "I will destroy you" looks from Stacy, I felt like sitting in a hole until the earth ended. Now more than anything I wished I had waited for Cassie, and every "subtle" (not) look at the clock made me think that Cassie had gone home and forgotten me. But just before I had given up and lost all hope, the doors to the frozen yogurt shop burst open. A normal person would have maybe jumped a little out of there seat, or at least looked surprised at the least, which most people had. But I however wanted to cry tears of joy as Cassie and Kim made there way over to our table. I sighed a breath of relief.
"Macy," breathed Cassie. "I've been looking every where for you."
"Yeah well she was here." Suddenly interjected Stacy. I wanted to slap her in the face, and apparently so did Cassie as she sent a glare in Stacy's direction.
"Yeah, well we need to go." Said Cassie with a clipped tone as she looked at Stacy.
"Why?" This time it was Leom who spoke. Cassie didn't look much happier to see Leom either.
"Becauseā¦becauseā¦" Cassie looked to Kim for help.
"Because she promised to help me with wedding preparations."
"Yup, wedding preparations, so there." I wanted to laugh at Cassie's childish behavior, but managed to muffle it to a giggle.
"I almost forgot." I spoke, looking at Kim, silently thanking her. She nodded as though she understood, which she probably did.
"You can help out too Carter." It was only then did Cassie seem to notice him. Her eyes caught up at him, slowly taking him in.
"Why not, I got nothing better to do.
"Great then it's settled, Carter's coming." Spoke Cassie, as though it had been her idea.
Not sparing a second glance at Leom, or Stacy, I mad my way out of the booth.
"Bye." Said Cassie, now ignoring Stacy and looking only at Leom.
"Bye." He said, and I noticed his eyes were on me. But I gave no sign that my heart was about to jump of my chest.
Cassie's POV
I couldn't help it that every five seconds when my phone buzzed I had to pick it up. But according to Macy, I could. My hand itched to reach for my phone when it buzzed a third time. This was of course when Macy decided she would answer instead. She grabbed the phone before I could react.
"Why is Jerry texting you?" She asked, her eyes slowly reaching up to mine.
"Because, we're friends."
"Yeah, right." She scoffed. "You like him. You have a crush on Jerry." By this time everyone had stopped walking. Carter, the new guy Macy introduced to us, looked confused, and yet slightly amused as I tried to get my phone back. Kim, smiled at me sheepishly, almost as though her eyes were saying, Aw, how adorable. It was not adorable.
I was finally able to get my phone, but only as Macy was side stepping, so I fell straight down. I was just barely able to catch myself on my hands before I face planted the cement. Thank you gymnastic.
"Here." I turned my head to see Carter offering me his hand. I graciously took it, sending glares at Macy and Kim, who were both trying to muffle their laughs.
"Don't mind them." he said, getting my attention back to him. It was sweet, how he was trying to make me feel better. I smiled.
"Thank you." I said, as I began to dust my pants off. He just smile brightly back at me.
...
It was mid day by the time we reached Kim's place. I knew that Kim hadn't just pulled that excuse out of no where, she actually expected us to help her with wedding preparations. I laughed a little to my self. It was obvious that Kim couldn't lie. She had most likely planned on asking us anyway, and that way it was a win win situation. Kim's house was beautiful. Kim and Jack bought it after collage. It was Victorian Style, which instantly made me think of it like a castle. I loved it. It wouldn't hurt to live in a house like this.
As soon as we walk in, jack swoops down, taking Kim movie style dip, and kisses her. I had to admit it was adorable. Macy was obviously swooning right now. i knew she was thinking, I did this. When jack finally brought Kim back up she was blushing like crazy. This is when Jack noticed that we were also there. Wow talk about embarrassed. Jack's face lit up like a tomatoe.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"Well as entertaining as that was, we're actually here to help Kim." I said, smirking. Jack and Kim only blushes harder. It was so cute.
"That was definitely... unexpected." Said Carter.
"Shush, both of you." Stepped in Macy. "You should feel lucky to see such a display of love." I noticed the slight giggle Mach have as her face broke into a grin.
"Well I have to go, anyway. So you can stop tormenting us." Said Jack.
"Where to?" Asked Kim.
"Just to the mall. I'm going to meet up with Milton. We're going check some wedding gifts."
"Oh, Okay." With this, Jack gave Kim one more kiss on the cheek before making his exit. I looked at Kim, she smiled longingly at the door.
"Kim." No answer. "Kim!" Still no answer. "KIM!" She jumped, shifting her head in my direction. "You ready?"
"Yeah! This way." She said, leading us up the stairs. Before we left I noticed Kim take one more glance back at the door before looking away.
