Eight Ammo: How nice to see you again!

"What the heck even is this?!" Fuka yells.

"It's a bit of a problem," Eve says.

A bit of an understatement.

"Come on you two, focus!" I say. "Remember your training."

"Is that was this is supposed to be?" Fuka asks. "Pretty crap training exercise considering THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL US!"

Perhaps I should clarify things a little. You see, we had split into our various training groups to start working on our stuff, as you would expect. I was working with Louise and Shana, but was just kicked out to make sure Fuka and Eve were doing okay. As soon as I had arrived to check on them, an army of golems came right out of nowhere and started attacking us. Why where they here? Why exactly did they want us dead? We don't know, and we're not exactly in a position to care. We take care of the golems first, then we can take care of the how and why.

"Eve, on your left!" I yell.

Eve spins around and chops a leaping golem in half. She flips backwards to dodge another golem which she smashes with a hammer fist. Fuka was doing about as well, chopping golem after golem in half. Shit man, where the hell do they keep coming from?

*Aria POV*

*BANG BANG BANG*

"Why won't they stay down?!" Nagi exclaims as she keeps firing her machine gun. "They keep exploding and just putting themselves back together again!"

"Focus!" I yell at her. "If you have time to yell, you have time to shoot!"

"And considering only one of those gives us a chance of leaving this fight alive, I recommend you keep shooting," Kinji says.

"Is there some kind of weak spot?" Nagi asks. "They can't just keep coming back again and again, right?"

"It's magic, who knows?" Kinji says. "But even magic has a limit, so it should end at some point, right?"

"Then keep shooting!" I yell. "We need to make some kind of path out so we can regroup with everyone else."

The very next thing that happened was someone was flung through the air and landed near us.

"Hayate!" Nagi exclaimed.

"A-ah, hello Milady," Hayate says as he pulls himself up. "My apologies, I was caught off guard and one golem blindsided me. I'm fine now."

"Excuse me, coming through!" Taiga yelled as she carved through the golems. She Made one final push and was able to join up with the rest of our group, with Ryuji simply following behind the carnage.

"Everyone here okay?" Ryuji asks.

"We'd be better if we didn't have to worry about the army of immortal golems," Ryuji says. "We've been worse though."

"So does anyone have a good idea?" Taiga asks, slashing through a golem that was attacking her. "I'm open to pretty much anything at the moment."

"First we should group up, right?" Nagi asks as she fires a few rounds into an approaching golem.

"I do believe that making sure our other friends are alright is a good idea," Hayate says.

"So how do we actually do that?" Ryuji asks.

"Keep fighting, I guess," Kinji says.

"Right," I say. "So we just need to keep at it. They have to stop spawning eventually, and then we can go help out Shana and everyone."

"Is there even any guarantee that they'll stop?" Kinji asks, briefly pausing to shoot a golem in the head. "Have we seen any indication that they will?"

"They have to at some point," Nagi says. "That's how encounters like this are always designed!"

"Milady, sometimes there are encounters where you keep fighting until you lose or reach a certain point," Hayate points out.

"Then we push forward until they stop!" Nagi yells, shooting as many golems down as she could.

We kept trying to push forward in any direction, but there were just too many golems and they just kept pushing us back to where we were. If we don't think of something quickly we're going to be overwhelmed. Suddenly, something in the air changes. The wind starts picking up and blowing far faster than it had previously.

"Everyone get down!" I yell.

The odd command stuns everyone for a minute, but they do kneel down (or in cases like Nagi, throw themselves flat on the ground). Two large cyclones, one red and one blue, blow right through the battlefield, blowing away nearly every golem, and instantly evaporating the golems it didn't. With all the golems gone, the place had grown insanely quiet all of a sudden.

"… So, what just happened?" Kinji asks.

"It's this development, is it?" Nagi asks. "The heroes are stuck in a jam the author doesn't know how to save them from, so a new character is introduced to save them!"

"If that is what is is, then wouldn't our savior be a bit more friendly looking?" Ryuji asks.

Curious what he was talking about, we all look and see what can only be the person who just saved us. … What the heck is that thing?!

*Saito POV*

"Anyone have any ideas?" I ask.

"Keep fighting," Eve offers.

"I've never fought on a stage that just kept spawning enemies, they have to stop eventually!" Fuka says.

A few explosions and a wave of fire signal the approach of the missus and Shana. Thank god they're okay. They were probably doing better than us. 'Shut up and let me enjoy the moment.'

"Satio, Fuka, Eve, are you okay?" Louise asks.

"We're doing just fine," I assure her.

"Well, I wouldn't say you're fine," a new voice says.

"You!" Shana yells. "So this is your doing?"

"Just a get-well present," the Snake of the Festival tells us. "I heard that you were out of commission after our last meeting, so I thought I would help get you back in shape. I figured that training dummies that came back no matter how much you sliced them up would be the best. They're a little aggressive, but you should be fine. You did beat me after all, a army of golems shouldn't be a problem right?"

"Screw you, snake bastard!" Fuka yells at him.

"I don't really believe you have time to focus on me, do you?" the Snake asks. "The golems still exist, do they not?"

Fuka gets ready to retort, but stops halfway.

"Everyone down!" she yells as she grabs me and Eve and forces us onto the ground. Shana grabs Louise and pulls her to the ground just as a cyclone of red and blue blows over everything.

"What?" the Snake asks. "The golems were all destroyed?"

"I don't know who you think you are," an unfamiliar voice rings out across the field. "But I hope you're ready to face and be torn apart by the most devastating and catastrophic abomination of your life!"

"Is… this a good thing?" I ask.

"Maybe?" Louise offer.

"Wait a minute," Fuka says. "Isn't that…"

"I am the fear! I am the dread! I am the disaster! I am the calamity! And most of all, I am she who shall sink the world into blazing chaos, the true final boss-"

"Desco?!" Fuka exclaims. "What the heck are you doing here?"

The person instantly loses all momentum and stops. It looked like… What the heck is that even supposed to be? It looks like a small girl with short purple hair and a really large octopus on her back. Why is she flying, what is even going on?

"Big sis!" Desco exclaims. "Desco is so happy to see you!"

The octopus girl flies forwards and immediately tackles Fuka with the biggest hug I've ever seen. I mean, once an octopus and all those arms come into the equation it's kind of hard to one up that.

"… Big sis?" Eve asks.

"What is she even supposed to be?" the Snake asks. "She annihilated those golems like they were made of paper."

"Ah!" Desco lets go of Fuka, stands as tall as she can and clears her throat. "I am the fe-"

"Desco, you already gave us that speech!" Fuka says. "Abridged version."

"Okay Big Sis!" Desco says. "Desco is the final boss to end all final bosses! Created to help Big Sis take over the world!"

"… I feel like that simply created more questions," I say.

"I'm so confused," Louise says.

"What is that thing on her back supposed to be?" Shana asks.

"Hey, everyone's over here!" Aria yells as she runs towards us, followed by the rest of our friends. "The Snake of the Festival is here?"

"I knew it, it was his plan the entire time!" Nagi says.

"I don't quite believe you predicted this," Hayate says.

"Oh, so you saved them as well," the Snake notes. "Very well then, it seems I no longer have any reason to be here. I shall see you another time."

"Absolutely not!" Desco declares. "You tried to hurt big sis, so Desco is going to have to hurt you!"

"And you think that you could succeed where this entire group failed?" the Snake asks. "I invite you to try."

"You asked for it!" Desco says. "Behold! This is true final boss power!"

Desco stretches her arms out to the sides and flies high into the air. There's a brief light and the thing attached to her back transforms into a large sword. The sword detaches itself from her back and flies towards the Snake at dizzying speeds. He appears to be as stunned as we are, because it takes him a second to react. He manages to recollect his wits just in time to backstep in an attempt to avoid the sword. The sword digs into the ground where the Snake used to be and kicks up a huge cloud of dust. The shockwave from the sword colliding with the ground knocks us all on the ground. Desco floats back down and the sword attaches itself to her back, once again become that monster. Desco looks at Fuka and grins.

"I did it big sis!" Desco declares.

"No, bad Desco," Fuka says as she pulls herself to her feat. "Remember Valzy's final boss lessons. The bad guy is never taken out that quickly."

"Gasp! You're right! The final boss should have at least three transformation!" Desco declares.

"I'm not so sure about transformations, but I can assure you I'm still very much alive," the Snake says as he stands up and dusts himself off. "It appears I underestimated you. This is something I'll have to keep in mind for next time."

The Snake vanishes in a column of black flames leaving us all alone.

"So um… what just happened?" Kinji asks. "I'm so very confused by this entire sequence of events."

"We should probably go back to the room and have a group discussion," Fuka says. "Besides, I need to give Desco a proper intro, because she certainly can't be trusted to introduce herself."

"How mean!" Desco says. "Desco can give herself an introduction just fine!"

"I think this entire series of events just gave me an awful headache," Shana says. "We should head back for now."

"I agree," Alastor says. "The Snake of the Festival has shown he is willing to attack us at any moment. We need to discuss how we intend to prepare for another attack."

We all nodded in agreement. We decided to cut the training session short, since we had more than enough training for the day, and head back to our room.
