I'm so sorry! I know I said I'd update within a few weeks and I didn't. I'm sorry! I feel awful. For one, I was busy as hell, and two, fanfiction was being a little bitch….
Anyway, here you go. I know this chap is kinda short but I hope you like it nonetheless.
Harry and Anubis didn't speak for the rest of the day. Harry was too embarrassed to talk to the god about his inquisition in the kitchen. Anubis just gave Harry time to sort it out in his head. He knew that the boy would talk to him again when he was ready.
After breakfast the following morning Harry finally opened up to Anubis. "I'm sorry about yesterday," he mumbled.
Anubis raised an eyebrow. "It is okay to confess your emotions Harry. You are human."
Harry felt his face flush slightly. "I wasn't-"
"I know. You are forgiven."
Harry let out a sigh of relief. "Do you think we're mingling the two worlds too closely together?"
Anubis hesitated and scratched at his forehead. "In all honesty, yes."
Harry nodded. The answer didn't surprise him in the least. He had the same feeling as of late; although, most of the time he didn't want to admit it. "How do we fix it?"
"We have a few options. You could give me back my amulet. I know you're not going to but it's still an option. Or, we could go our separate ways."
Harry's heart gave a lurch at the thought of leaving Anubis. He shook his head. "No."
Anubis gave a groan of frustration. "Harry, you're being stubborn. This connection that we have isn't good. I am a god, you are a mortal. We aren't meant to co-mingle for more than a few days at best."
"But I don't want you to leave!" Emotions welled up inside the boy as he fought back the tears that threatened to escape. He couldn't bear the thought of Anubis leaving. He hated it when the young man was gone for only three days. Any time longer than that and he was sure that he'd lose it.
"Harry, please don't make this any more difficult than it already is," Anubis begged.
Harry got up from the chair that he was sitting in and walked over to Anubis, who was leaning against the counter like usual. He grabbed a fistful of the deity's shirt and got in his face. He wasn't angry, just desperate. "Anubis, you will not leave me." His voice grew soft and he rested his head against Anubis's collar in defeat. "I don't think I could handle it. You've become so much to me." He gave a short laugh. "I know, it's crazy, but I just-" Harry cut off his own words, he just couldn't bring himself to say anything else.
Harry was shocked to feel Anubis wrap his arms around him and hold him tightly against his chest. "It's okay Harry. I know what you mean. You've done the same thing to me in the short time that we've known each other."
Harry's breath caught. He slowly looked up at Anubis. "What do you mean by that?"
"I know ours is a bizarre situation, but I just can't seem to want to change it. I am not sure if…I want you to leave or not. I've grown fond of you Harry."
Harry didn't have time to process those words before a pair of warm lips descended on his.
His entire world stopped.
Anubis was‒ He was kissing him. Anubis was kissing him!
He let out a soft gasp as Anubis nibbled on his bottom lip. This was happening. This was real. His mind went on autopilot and he kissed Anubis back. His hands moved to wrap around the god's neck and his fingers wove themselves through silky black locks.
Anubis pulled back after the need for air became too much. Their breath co-mingled and their noses touched slightly as they fought to compose themselves. Frequently, Anubis would close the distance between their lips for small, sweet pecks that would cause Harry to shiver.
"I would apologise for my actions but I'm not sorry," Anubis mumbled against Harry's lips.
Harry chuckled and kissed the god briefly. "Neither am I."
Anubis rested his head in the crook of Harry's neck. He began placing small kisses upon the heated skin.
"Well, I think we can safely say that there's no returning to going back to being acquaintances," Harry murmured.
Anubis chuckled in response and bit down on the tender skin.
Harry gasped as the deity began to suck a hickey on the wizard's neck. "Wh-what do we do n-now?" Harry gasped out breathlessly.
Anubis made a sound of approval at Harry's gasp and reluctantly detached his mouth from Harry's neck. "I was thinking something along the lines of: make out until we can't think straight anymore." To prove his point, he leaned forward and captured Harry's lips in a soul searing kiss.
Harry enthusiastically responded and kissed Anubis back with just as much fervour. The god placed his hands on the small of Harry's back. Tongues came out a stroked the other. Harry's brain was abuzz with all the sensations taking over his body at the moment. Anubis sucked on Harry's tongue and the boy groaned, leaning into Anubis's body. His hands splayed across the god's chest as he felt the firm muscles beneath his fingers.
Anubis gently broke the kiss and trailed featherlike kisses along Harry's jaw down to his neck. "Anubis…" Harry gasped as the god continued to suck at the hickey he'd started earlier. Anubis held Harry's hips tightly as he bit and sucked at the sensitive flesh under his lips.
A few minutes‒was it minutes or hours?‒later Anubis finally released the sensitive skin and kissed his way back up to Harry's mouth. "Mmm, I'm so happy that I finally got to kiss you."
"Huh?" Harry gasped between panting breaths.
Anubis laughed and nuzzled his nose against Harry's. "Mission accomplished."
Harry's breathing was slowly turning to normal but the fog in his brain was lingering. "What mission?"
"Make out until you can't think straight anymore."
"Oh, that mission. I think it's fair to say that you deserve a gold star on that one. Hell, five gold stars."
Anubis laughed and rested his forehead against the boy that was rapidly taking over his world.
So, yeah, that just happened. We had our first Harubis kiss! Yayyyy! –runs around and cheers- I was so happy to write that scene. So, now they're establishing a relationship which I do plan on carrying on until the end of this fic. I've got a few ideas that I'm still trying to work out the kinks on.
But first:
A question for you.
Do you guys want me to do a brief overview of the events in the 7th book OR do you want me to do a major time-jump to the end of the final battle and then carry on from there? I'll check the reviews and majority rules. So, you guys decide. If you don't review I won't know what to do! (and we don't want that because that will mean that we'll wait FOREVER for another chapter). So review!
