Vignette Nine: Surprisingly Nice Kidnappers
FRIENDS: Go to a concert with you.
BEST FRIENDS: Kidnap the band with you.
The four older members of Tokyo Mew Mew looked at their youngest comrade, beaming widely as she told them her plan. The girls looked at each other.
"Yeah, sure," Zakuro said with a shrug.
"Why not?" Ichigo said.
"Let's do it," Mint said, grinning evilly.
"Don't you think we'll get caught?" Lettuce asked, but her words fell on deaf ears. Pudding was hugging them all.
Several hours later, Pudding was bouncing in her seat in the back of Zakuro's car, squeezing the teen boy sitting beside her. He was sixteen, had blond hair, and had a very confused expression on his face.
"Should… I be worried?" Dustin Ceiber asked worriedly.
"Nah, we'll hand you back over in a bit," Mint said from the front seat between Zakuro and Lettuce.
"So, what are you after?" The confused pop star asked. "Money?"
"Nope," Ichigo said from where she sat beside him.
"We just owed Pudding a favor," Lettuce said softly. She was still stressed over the whole kidnap-an-international-pop-star thing.
Pudding kept giggling.
"Pudding loves Dustin-Chan, na no da!" She said, kissing the teenager's cheek.
"Tart isn't going to be happy to hear that," Zakuro commented.
"Taru-Taru knows that Pudding loves Dustin-Chan, but loves-loves Taru-Taru," Pudding said, her arms still around Dustin, a giddy smile on her face.
"Makes perfect sense to me," Ichigo said with a shrug.
The following morning, international pop-star Dustin Ceiber emerged from Café Mew Mew, grinning. The five waitresses—though slightly insane—were rather nice kidnappers. They spent most of the night eating and chatting. By dawn, they were all good friends.
"It was a nice vacation from it all," Dustin said as he looked out the window to see his 'handlers' coming up the path.
"Tell me about it," Zakuro said, her arms folded. "That's why no one knows I work here in my spare time."
"Can't blame you there," Dustin said. As he headed out the door, he waved to the girls. "Thanks for kidnapping me."
"We'll be sure to do it again sometime, na no da!" Pudding promised eagerly.
"I will not be involved next time." Lettuce said, still stressed.
It hadn't been long after they waved good-bye to Dustin that Pudding turned to the older girls and said,
"So, Five Directions is coming to Tokyo next month and Pudding really, really wants to meet them, na no da…"
"I'll arrange backstage passes," Zakuro said before Pudding could concoct another kidnapping plan.
Lettuce nearly cried in relief.
