I hope I get the characters' designations right... I've been guessing. :x

The intangibility didn't play up again, even when Danny weaseled a spar out of Kaldur.

Danny threw his head back, emptying the last of the glass of cool water into his mouth. The glass hit the bench with a clunk, and Danny sighed, rubbed his forehead and brushed aside strands hair stuck together with sweat. He grinned at Kaldur across the room.

"That was awesome."

A small, pleased smile crossed Kaldur's face. "It was very enjoyable indeed."

A challenging glint entered Danny's eye. "Let's spar again."

Kaldur frowned and considered this a moment, then shook his head. "I am afraid that I desire a quiet evening. If our mission moves ahead," he nodded to the paper next to Danny, "Then we will not have quiet for a while."

Danny pouted and slumped into the table. Quiet. Love-ly.

"Recognised: Robin: B01;"

On second thoughts, quiet sounded good. No, it wasn't a good idea to groan at Robin's entrance – Danny swallowed down the noise – no need to draw attention to Danny and Robin's animosity.

"Welcome, Robin," Kaldur smiled.

Danny pasted a smile on his face and gave him a greeting. Robin pretended not to hear.

M'gann appeared in the doorway, miracle upon miracle. Danny's eyes flickered between her and Robin. It was best to get out of Robin's presence as quickly as possible, the glare Robin was sending his way was quite telling and Kaldur was observant.

"Hi, M'gann!" he called, and bulldozed her out of the room. He slammed the door behind him.

M'gann faced him with concern. "Danny, what was that? Don't you and Robin get on?" There was a tired, distressed note in her voice. It was reminiscent of that 'what am I going to do with you' mother-voice.

"No," Danny grimaced.

Voices raised in argument behind the wall, but they were muffled. Danny and M'gann swapped looks of alarm and pressed their ears to the wall.

"—Not your decision," Kaldur was saying.

"You need me," Robin retorted. "If I leave…"

"They're arguing about you," M'gann whispered.

Danny frowned. "Let's get closer." With a ghostly flash, he grabbed M'gann's hand and phased out. He pulled them both through the wall invisibly.

Robin and Kaldur stood toe-to-toe. Kaldur looked more disappointed than Danny had ever seen him.

"Recognised: Kid Flash: B03;"

Kid Flash's glowing silhouette appeared in the zeta tube, slowly fading to reveal the grinning speedster. This could be troublesome. Wally and Danny sort of got along, but he was Robin's friend, not Danny's.

At the sight of Robin and Kaldur, the smile slipped off Kid Flash's face. Robin rounded on him.

"What are you doing here, KF? Aren't you supposed to be in school?"

"It's called a half-day," Kid Flash deadpanned. "What's up? Are you still talking shit about Danny?"

Robin snorted, and looked between them with a mocking smirk. "Why are you both so defensive of him? He's not even real."

Danny's skin prickled. M'gann put a staying hand on his shoulder.

"Yes, he is," Wally answered, approaching Robin like a he was something dangerous. "And you know it, too. I've seen you poking around on those cameras, and getting pissed off when you can't find anything incriminating, anything that suggests he's not real."

"He's not," Robin muttered, stubbornly.

Kaldur said nothing, content to let Kid Flash try to get through to his friend.

"He eats, breaths, poops –" Danny's eyes widened in alarm. What? "that's more than Red Tornado does. What more do you want?"

Robin pursed his lips. He didn't answer. He didn't even seem to have an answer. He sighed, and hung his head.

"Fine. Alright. Yeah. That makes sense," he spat.

That wasn't enough for Kid Flash. He pointed at Robin. "Say it. Say you agree he's real. Say you'll stop treating him like he isn't."

Robin's lips trembled, perhaps in anger.

Kaldur interrupted them. "Robin, are you jealous?"

Kid Flash baulked and Robin was startled out of his mood, spluttering denials. Danny grinned at the show.

"So there's no reason to act as if you want to get rid of him?" Kaldur persisted.

Robin closed his eyes. "No," he said. Kaldur smiled in satisfaction.

The cave speakers crackled to life, and even before they began speaking, Robin froze.

"Recognised: Batman 02;"

Batman appeared in the glow of the Zeta-tube.

M'gann's hands squeezed Danny's like vices and she began to tug him towards the wall. He stayed still. More and more persistently, she tugged.

Her mental voice filled his head. "Danny! We need to go!"

"We're invisible, he can't see us," Danny answered back. "I want to see what's going on."

By now, the Kaldur and Wally had stilled, too, defiant looks on their faces. M'gann's grip had turned painful, and Danny wondered what he was missing.

The glow faded slowly, and Batman entered silently.
