The next morning, I woke up to the sound of all the pots and pans in the kitchen. I grabbed my sweat pants and a light pink shirt. Walked straight to the bathroom, to get dressed. When had come out breakfast was ready, and Molly was rushing to get ready before taking all of us to king cross station. By the time everyone had engulfed their breakfast, and settled in the car. Molly grabbed everyone's luggage and put on a cart. When I found the barrier between platform 9 and platform 10, I closed my eyes, and ran right through the barrier. I wasn't expecting to end up on the other side of the barrier, but to bump into the barrier. I was having plenty of bad memorizes, but the memory about Draco Malfoy was very different than the other memories. What would Harry think when he found out that I was friends with his enemy? Should I keep this all a secret from Harry? I had these questions roaming around in my head, while I was sitting down in the compartment. A few moments later Harry showed up, and said that the rest of the compartments were completely full. Harry put our luggage up on the rack, and sat down, and I looked terrified at the sight of Draco head poking through the compartment door.
"Hey, scarhead how are you?" Draco question Harry, apparently not noticing that I was sitting right next to Harry. Harry started to answer, but I cut him off. "Malfoys and Potters aren't suppose to mix correct?" I said. Draco with a surprised face looked at me.
"Lily, you are a Potter?" he asked eventually.
"Yes, I am. To be honest with you, I am Harry's last living family member that belongs to the magical world," I answered.
"You know each other?" Harry soon questioned.
"Yes we met each other at Diagon Alley," replied Malfoy.
"Lily, you never told me about this, why?" Harry asked.
"I knew you were enemies, and I didn't want to provoke any fights between you two," I replied.
Draco and Harry now both staring at me open mouthed. I didn't want to talk about this anymore. I sat there ignoring their stares. Ron and Hermione were sitting with Neville and Ginny. I moved over to the opposite side of Harry. A while later, Draco sat down next to me, and wrapped his arm around me. I was actually surprised, I thought that when I told him that I was Potter he would loose interest in me. I was totally wrong Draco still cared about me, but Harry was becoming more distant. I was starting to fall asleep, and as my head started to drop Draco placed it on his shoulder.
I woke up, and Draco was laying his head on mine. The moment that he felt me start to move he awoke, and helped me up. I was still in the process of finding a way to reach my luggage from up on the rack. Draco had read my mind because he had reached up and grabbed it for me. I grabbed my robes and uniform, and walked out of the compartment towards the bathroom. I got changed, and Draco, Harry, and I were sitting down in our seats the conductor started to stay that we would be arriving at Hogwarts in approximately 5 minutes. As we were arriving the train stop. Draco had lowered his and my luggage once again. Of course, we didn't take it with us, but we thought that it would be nice for the people that were taking the luggage down from the rack. We got off the Hogwarts Express, and walked to the last empty horse drawn cart. The horses were black, and very gentle. Draco helped me onto the cart.
"Lily, I would like to ask you what house do you think you might be sorted into?" Draco questioned.
"Draco... I don't know," I answered.
"I am in Slytherin House," Draco murmured.
Upon arriving at the castle, I was the only third year getting sorted. To be honest with you, I was the only person being sorted today. I was really nervous about what house I will be sorted into.
"Our newest member of our school is Lily Potter. She will be sorted into one of the following houses Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw," announced Professor Dumbledore.
Professor McGonagall brought out an ugly, old, ragged hat, and placed it on my head. The hat was talking something to think things the before it started talking about which house I was suppose to be inserted into. Lily Potter, you'll do great in Slytherin, but you will also do great in Gryffindor. Your cousin and friends all want you to be in Gryffindor, but one person out of all of them want you in Slytherin. You are brave, clever, daring, and loyal. You are the hardest person to insert because of all the good qualities you have. I will place you in the house of... GRYFFINDOR. I walked towards the Gryffindor table where I sat on the left side of my cousin. I looked back at the Slytherin table, and saw that Draco had a very depressed face. I tried to smile the best simpathy smile I could. The feast has begun. The food materialized on the plates. There was turkey, smashed potatoes, pumpkin juice, apple pie, pasta, chocolate ice cream, and vanilla ice cream. The moment everyone was finished with their diner, the prefects had to take us to our common rooms. I walked out behind Harry, but when I had gotten out of the Great Hall Draco grabbed me, and wrapped his arms around my waist. I wasn't really comfortable with this, but I wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt better, but I felt something was wrong. My thoughts were that Draco was just trying to find a way to let out some tension from what happened in the Great Hall, but without notice Draco leaned close to me, and kissed me. I returned the kiss without a problem. I pulled away from Draco by strong arms a moment later. When I turned around, I saw Harry staring at me with a stern face.
"What were you doing with him?" he questioned.
"Nothing, he's my friend," I replied.
"He's not to be trusted," Harry uttered.
"Why not? You don't know him like I do," I defended myself.
"Lily, you haven't known him as long as I have," Harry argued.
"Harry, I care about him. I think he can change his ways. If he tries of course. I will do anything to make him actually like everyone other than himself," I said not realizing that Draco was still behind us.
I stormed off towards the Gryffindor common room. Harry trying to catch up to me, but I kept speeding up. When I reach the common room I said the password "Balderdash." I walked inside the common room, and walked up to my room. Hermione was staring at me, but I shook it off. Parvati and Patil are already asleep, so I got dressed in my new light blue silk pajamas.
"Hey 'Mione aren't you going to bed?" I asked.
"Yes, but in a minute. I want to finish this chapter," Hermione answered.
"Okay, see you 'morrow," I replied.
I laid down on my bed, and dozed off to sleep. What an interesting day? I hope tomorrow will be better than today. Harry is probably still mad at me, but don't care. I really do care about Draco, and I am not willing to give up on helping him see the light instead of the darkness.
