Chapter Thirteen: Stake

DICLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter or Vampire Diaries!

SHOUTOUTS/NOTES: Warning, I'm screwing with the plot even more than I already have.

Robbie visited again through the course of the next month. It had become a tradition that Robbie would climb up the house to get to the window, although June just made liked this because no matter how good a friends they were, it was funny as hell to see him fall so much. He never got too hurt and, after a few visits, he had gotten better at it. Although, they always had to plan the visits when more than a few Originals were out of the house. That was easy as her Uncle Kol had a habit of going to bars, her Aunt Rebekah was always out on the town, and sometimes June's father had meetings with henchman or something. (June really didn't want to know.) Usually, Elijah was in his study reading because it 'enhances the mind'. Sure, June enjoyed reading but she would never consider doing it twenty-four seven.

So, Robbie always quickly scaled the side of the house, falling down every once in a while and making June cackle like a hyena. Then he would set in the comfy chair while June lounged on her bed and they...talked. It was nice, really, to have someone just see her as June. Not THE June Potter or anything else she was seen as other than herself.

It was a Saturday morning when June went down for breakfast to find her family around the table, solemn faced. Instantly she was on edge, June had seen far too many of those looks during the war and they were never good. Slowly she sat down beside Klaus and Kol. Nobody had said anything about the night of her birthday ball, although it was obviously hanging in the air between them all, so June was worried this would be an 'intervention' or something. After learning what was going on, she wished it was an intervention.

"Doppelgänger and company have a White Oak Stake." Klaus said

"What?" June sprung out of her seat, looking worried because she knew that was the only object that could kill her and her family. The hell June would let that happen.

"You know..." Klaus said slowly, "That is the only object that can kill me and you aunt and uncles. However, you know it is also the only object that can kill you. Seeing as you are so close to my blood line, have wand user heritage, and are a Hybrid, this has made you as strong as an Original and that will only grow with age. I believe the Bennett witch figured this out.

"You mean they want to kill June?" Rebekah snarled as Kol and Elijah growled lowly, "That is not going to happen! I've already lost Finn, I'm not going to loose one more member of my family!"

Klaus glared dangerously, "They most certainly will not touch her. I'll let them over my dead body and as we all know," He smirked, "I'm unkillable."

"You mean, you think Bonnie is in on this?" June said incredulously as she sat back down, "She's my friend! She wouldn't want to kill me!"

Her father gave her a serious look, "You cannot trust them, June. You think the witch would choose you over perfect little Elena? No. She wouldn't. They see you as a threat to the doppelgänger, so they want to eliminate you, but that isn't going to happen."

June felt both cold and elated at this. She thought she could trust Bonnie, at the dance they had talked and she had seemed nice enough. Mentally hitting herself upside the had, June berated herself, How many people did you get killed by being too over trusting? She was elated because, well, her family really cared enough to protect her just because she was herself. Not because she was he only one who could defeat a so called 'dark lord', but because they loved her. If she was truthful, she probably only became friends with Ron and Ginny because she was the girl-who-lived. It all came back to that in the wizarding world.

"It sounds like they have an issue with me." June nodded to herself, "Well, if they come at me with that stake, I'll shove it somewhere unmentionable and then rip them apart."

Kol laughed, "She really is your daughter, Nik!"

"June, we know you can take care of yourself." Elijah smiled at her slightly, "This is obvious. However, we are family. Family sticks together."

"Always and Forever." Rebekah nodded

"Yup, you take on one of us, you take on all of us!" Kol grinned lopsidedly, "We're like a tag team! We take turn beating the shit out of our enemies!"

June and Kol chuckled as Rebekah and Elijah rolled their eyes. Klaus sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose, he was starting to remember why he stuck Kol in that coffin for so long.

"How do you know they have one?" June asked

"I have my sources." Klaus said, "Though, trust me little witch, they have one."

"An clue where they got it?" Kol asked, narrowing his eyes in thought

"No clue at all, I bet!" Rebekah growled

"Anyways." Klaus interrupted them, "Daughter, you might want to carry around that wand with you. It could be helpful in defending yourself incase one of them get the upper hand. I'm certain there are some fire spells that are available to wand users?"

"Yeah, of course." June nodded slightly

"Besides!" Kol smirked, "If all else fails you can shove it in their hearts! Sort of like a substitute steak."

Snorting, June rolled her eyes, "Like I told dad, there are quite a few fire spells I can use."

Blinking, June realized the term 'Dad' had just slipped out of her mouth. Whenever she spoke about Niklaus Mikaelson, she had always either said 'Father' or 'Klaus'. It sort of slipped out, and she had been referring to him as that in her mind since he had hugged and comforted her after the ball and acted like a real dad actually would. Glancing over, she saw a small and barely noticeable smile on her dad's face. Like, such a miniscule smile you had to really look for it. Still, it was there and that made June hold back a grin. She let her eyes sweep over the table, taking in the details of each Original sitting there.

Like she was going to let some White Oak Stake ruin her family.

Question of the Chapter: What is going to happen with the White Oak Stake hmm? How do you think Team Doppelgänger got it? Is something going to happen to Robbie? Will someone die?

I'm supposed to be studying for end of the year exams, so this one was short. I hope that, after tomorrow and exams are over, I'll be able to come out with a longer chapter. I still hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
