Chapter Fifteen: Vengance

DICLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter or Vampire Diaries!

SHOUTOUTS/NOTES: Okay, yeah, I'm gonna take it as a complement that I made some of you cry because that means it was emotional. Thanks for reviewing (although some of you hate me now. I'm sorry for that by the way).

She had been there since ten at night to six in the morning and every second of it she damned the Isolation Spell and the witch that cast it. June sat beside the couch, her knees up to her chest, staring at the charred body of her uncle with devastated eyes. He was no longer the confident, but vain, young man who was like a brother to her. Now he was simply a lump of charred flesh that filled the house with the scent of smoke and death. She knew the maximum time of this spell, if it was anything like it's wand using counter part, was ten hours. Two more to go.

"I don't believe we've met, darling, but I'm Kol Mikaelson."

...

"Hogwarts? Did the founders seriously name their school after a warty hog?"

...

"So, are you going to hold a grudge about that?"

...

"Besides that, what's your name? I should probably know my own niece's name."

...

"The birthday girl should not be sad."

...

"Obviously, as your name is June Mikaelson, not Potter."

...

"Yup, you take on one of us, you take on all of us! We're like a tag team! We take turn beating the shit out of our enemies!"

...

"Of course not."

Memories flashed through her mind like a movie, all the memories of the times she had spent with her uncle. When she had first met him...and the last words he spoke to her. Her stomach churned, making her feel sick as her eyes wandered up to the corpse again. She didn't know why everyone always said you felt love and pain and all your emotions in your heart. Everything happened in June's stomach and, right now, she felt sick.

Slowly, trembling, she pulled out her wand. She had, in a fit of anger at not being able to break the Isolation Spell that kept her in the house, shoved it in her pocket and had not though about it again. However, if her uncle was really dead, she was certainly not going to allow little miss Elena to come back and dispose of his body. Hell, Elena would probably throw his body in the lake. That wouldn't happen, Uncle Kol would get a proper burial...

No.

He wouldn't be buried at all because he was not dead. Kol Mikaelson wasn't dead, he couldn't be dead, and even if he was he wouldn't be for long. Lurching to her feet, June walked into the kitchen with purpose she didn't think she could muster up. Realizing she would get no spell done being so upset, not to mention that's probably the reason she couldn't break the spell keeping her in this house a few hours ago, June took a deep breathe and cleared her mind.

"Conservare." She spoke the Latin word with ease and watched as a light mist came out of her wand and covered the body

With trembling hands she placed her wand back in her coat pocket and sat down. She needed, no had, to find a way to bring him back because this was all her fault. She sat there maybe ten minutes before it came to her like a slap in the face or a breathe of fresh air. The Deathly Hallows, she needed the Deathly Hallows. Scrambling to her feet for the second time, she turned her back to the kitchen and looked at the door. She had to get out of here and get to her family now. Bringing out her cellphone she dialed the number and pushed the green call button.

"Hello?"

Her aunts voice sent a shockwave of emotions through her. It's like sometimes with kids, she had observed that they seemed to be able to hold back emotions until they saw their parents. One time, back when she still went to primary school in England, this one kid got cut from the spelling bee because he missed more than five words. He hd seemed to take it pretty calmly but, later that day, when his mom picked him up he just started crying. June had never experienced that before, as she most certainly didn't thing of Petunia and Vernon asfamily let alone parents, but she knew what it was like now. It was like the pressure had been building and building and building beneath the surface and when she head Rebekah, it all just exploded.

"Aunt Rebekah?" Her voice trembled and she couldn't stop tears from forming, "He's gone, he's d-dead..."

Immediately, her aunt's voice snapped back, "Who? June, who's dead?"

"Uncle Kol." It was barely a whisper, but her aunt still heard it

"How?"

"The Doppelgänger, the Bennett, and the Salvatore brothers." June didn't think it was possible to hate four people so much

"Where are you?" Rebekah's voice was thick and June could tell she was holding back tears over her brothers death

"At the doppelgänger's house."

"Okay. We'll be there soon."

The call ended and June continued staring at the door. She had already tried every spell she knew, but those were just fueled by haywire emotions. If her anger and sorrow was all over the place and she couldn't control her emotions, the spell wouldn't work. Maybe if she channeled it all into the spell, it could override the Bennett's Isolation Spell. Retrieving her wand once again, she aimed it at the door and focused on the waterfall of pain and grief and sadness that ran through her and just...let it go. The whole house shook as June's power hit the barrier. She could practically see the spider web of cracks as the spell fell apart and shattered.

Feeling the adrenaline and power course through her veins, June smiled. However, it wasn't a kind smile. It was vicious and cruel, promising pain and vengeance. As she stood there, tears not yet dried on her face with hate in her eyes and that smile she could have been a demon out for blood. In a way, she was.

"I'll show you." June whispered to herself, "You think you can hunt me with a piece of wood? I'll show you who's the predator...and who's the prey. I promise, if it's the last thing I do, I'll show you. Not through vengeance, no, but I will bring him back. I'll bring him back and show you can not just take anything you want. I'll show you this and then I will not take your loved one's lives, for they had nothing to do with it."

June glanced down and saw a picture of Elena, smiling and happy. It fell to the ground and the frame shattered.

"I'll take yours instead."

Question of the Chapter: Why do you think Kol and Rebekah got in a fight? Is June going to retrieve the Hollows?

(Also, just to say it, I'm not one who usually writes violence so this will be a new experience for me because there'll be a lot of fighting in later chapters.)

Oh wow. So much shit has happened today it's not even funny. As I'm writing this I just got home from the first Marching Band practice of the year and guess what? Our band teacher got a new job! So, we won't have the same band teacher anymore and I actually started crying when he told us (Our teacher was crying too along with half of the class so I guess I'm not the only one upset.)!

You guys might not care, but I figured I'd tell you anyways. The end of theses Authors Notes have become like a little therapy thing for me so sorry if you don't like it, heh! Just tell me and I'll cut these out (I only do it because I'm better at expressing emotions better with writing than actual words).
