Chapter Seventeen: Understood

DICLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter or Vampire Diaries!

SHOUTOUTS/NOTES: Hope you guys like it!

June wasn't entirely sure what possessed her when she decided to ask Robbie for help. She blamed grief, in all honesty, because what else would push her to do such a thing? Why would some guy she's known for a few months want to go on a crazy, possibly dangerous, hunt for the legendary Deathly Hallows for someone e didn't even know. Robbie barely even knew her, he wouldn't risk anything for her or her family. Still, here she was, explaining the whole situation and trying not to break into tears again as she imagined her uncle dead on the doppelgänger's kitchen floor.

"So, will you help me or not?" June asked, bracing herself for the answer

Robbie, however, didn't miss a beat, "Of course."

June nodded in a resigned way, "I understand-wait! What?"

His smile was lopsided and more of a smirk than a smile, "I said of course, as in of course I'll help you."

Blinking, June stared a him with wide green eyes. She couldn't believe that he would help her, just like that. He didn't get anything in return, nothing, and he doesn't even hesitate to go running in headfirst for her. It was unbelievable because, even when she was in Hogwarts and ran into all sort of things, it was usually for one purpose. Defeating Voldemort. Sure, it so happened to be good for everyone if she stopped him but really she was just saving her own skin. He would have killed her, so she stopped him before he could and just so happened to save the Wizarding World. How many people had died along the way though?

"Why?" June questioned, her eyebrows furrowed

"Because your my...friend. You've already sacrificed so much for others, you shouldn't lose anyone else."

"I didn't sacrifice anything." June shook her head

"Are your kidding? You saved the Wizarding World from a tyrant!"

"For myself though." June muttered, looking down, "Would I have still done all I did if I wasn't the chosen one? If I was just an eleven year old orphan and not the Girl-Who-Lived, would I have still risked everything I loved to stop him?"

"Yes." Robbie said immediately, "You would have, no matter what. With or without the scar, you're a hero no matter how much you try to deny it. You saved everyone because that's who you are, that's the kind of person you are."

"Really?" June blinked, "What about now? Now I'm killing people to survive! Now I'm now better than Voldem-"

"Don't even!" Now Robbie was glaring, "You feel guilt, don't you? After you kill someone, on accident mind you, you feel like the scum of the Earth. People like Voldemort, they never feel like that. So stop throwing a pity party, would you?"

Eyes wide, June stared at Robbie, "I guess your right. I am throwing a...pity party."

Sighing, the girl rubbed a hand over her face. She really needed to work on that, the whole self-pity thing. She imagined it was extremely annoying to those around her. Maybe she could do that rubber band thing, where if she ever started to pity herself she just snapped the rubber band or something. Yeah, that'd work.

Swallowing, June continued, "Besides, this isn't even about me! This is about Kol! This is about bringing him back! We're going to find the Resurrection Stone and we're going to retrieve the Elder Wand, then we are going to defy the laws of nature."

Robbie shook his head, "I love how you sound so confident."

Giving him an even look, June stared him down with cool eyes, "I am confident."

"So this is your help?" Klaus eyed Robbie with distaste

"Yes. Dad, stop glaring holes through head." June gave Klaus a look

Her father sneered and turned back to what looked like a map of some sort as Robbie glanced at June in a manner that asked 'is-he-going-to-rip-my-head-off?'. Elijah stood beside Rebekah on the side of the table that was opposite of Klaus, June, and Robbie. Getting a closer look, June realized it was a map of the area in which Hogwarts would be. Seeing her questioning look, Elijah spoke up.

"Niklaus secured the map from one of his informants while you were gathering your help."

"Yes, speaking of which..." Rebekah trailed off, her eyes sizing up Robbie, "Who is he?"

Before Junes could answer, Robbie cut in with a big smile, "Robert Harrison, please call me Robbie."

Raising an eyebrow, Rebekah looked at him coldly, "Pleasure to meet you, Robert."

Giving an exasperated sigh, Klaus looked up in annoyance, "Is the meet and greet over? We do have things to do."

Nodding in agreement, Elijah gestured to his niece, "June you have the floor."

Narrowing her eyes, June spoke in a voice and it was clear that she had done this many a times before, "Here is where the Hogwarts Castle would be," June gestured to a portion of the map to the left, "I left the Resurrection Stone in this section of the forest." She then drew an invisible circle around a rather large section of the forest, "If we use super speed and, Robbie, if you use a spell, we should find the stone very quickly. It could easily fit in the palm of you hand and resembles a black square with a diamond like center. After that we begin our hunt for the Elder Wand."

Pausing to take a deep breathe, June continued, "I do, however, know where the last Hallow is. I thought that if I placed it in a secure place here it would not be stolen and could not be won, I would eventually die of natural causes and end it's bloody history. Obviously that's not going to happen, one reason is because I can't die of natural cause, and two is because we need the wand to preform the spell on Kol to bring him back. I retuned the wand the Albus Dumbledore's grave shortly after the Battle of Hogwarts and that grave is, currently, the most protected in the entire Wizarding World."

"What kind of protection?" Rebekah asked curiously

"Spells. Wand-Waver spells, as you would call them, can be even more deadly that any incantation or spell cast by a witch like the Bennett." Her voice soured as she mentioned Bonnie, "We have a large variety and our magic come from within ourselves and the wand is just a way to channel it. With witches like you are used to dealing with, well, they get their magic from the spirits usually. That's why the two types of magic users don't mix. So there will be many spells, hexes, curses, and charms placed on his grave that could injure one of us severely and kill Robbie."

Glancing around, she looked at each of them, "Understood?"

Smirking, Klaus spoke up, "You know, little witch, I am really starting to see myself in you."

June tilted her chin up and smirked right back at her father, "You know, father, I am really not sure if that's a good or bad thing."

Question of the Chapter: Should this story be June/Robbie? If so, how should June realize she likes him and how should it play out?

I had my first Marching Band Event yesterday, it was the Memorial Day Parade. We had to walk the whole main street of our city and it takes FOREVER. Needless to say, everything hurts today. Everything. My shoulders hurt from playing my instrument nonstop (I swear we played that song fifty times) and I had gotten my foot stuck in a pothole and twisted my ankle. It was fun, nevertheless!

So this is short because I am lazy. A little bit of a filler chapter with some Robbie/June. June, as always, totally downplays what she did and doubts herself but Robbie snaps her out of it ;) Don't worry, June won't be throwing a pity party the whole story. Next chapter she kicks some butt!

Hope you all like it!
