Chapter Twenty-one: Alive

DICLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter or Vampire Diaries!

SHOUTOUTS/NOTES: Glad you guys liked the new chapter! Happy to be writing again!

June easily pulled herself out of the lake, Elder Wand in hand, as he green eyes scanned the area. It looked as though more Death Eaters had arrived, but her family was not struggling in the slightest. The Originals easily plowed through the dark wizards and, surprisingly, so did Robbie. He looked as though he was struggling more than her family, of course, but he was still doing very well. Deciding not to stand back and watch her family and friend have all the fun, she ran into the fray.

She grabbed the nearest dark wizard she could get her hands on and sunk her teeth into his neck. She was starving, and the snack earlier did very little to help. Quickly dropping the man, she turned and grabbed a woman by the neck, quickly snapping it and leaving her dead on the ground. Soon enough, dead Death Eaters littered the ground and the last one was decapitated by Elijah.

"Well," Rebekah smirked, "Hogwarts has a lot to clean up."

"HALT!"

Everyone in the group tensed, June and Robbie especially. Coming towards them with wands drawn was none other than the Order of the Phoenix. So, basically, the remaining Weasleys and Hermione. June's eyes widened and, desperate to avoid a confrontation with those she was almost tempted to leave in the past, dug her hand in her pocket to pull out the slightly soggy book that acted as a portkey. Keeping a tight grip on the Elder Wand, she thrust the book out towards her family and Robbie.

"Grab on!" She hissed urgently

Klaus' eyes narrowed, "Who are they? Have they harmed you in the past? If they have I will-"

"They're the Order of the Phoenix, they fought against Voldemort." Robbie said quickly, "They could cause a lot of problems for us."

"Yes, they could, so if you all don't grab on so I can activate this damn portkey, heads will roll!" June snarled, her annoyance and fear of seeing her old, so-called 'family' again getting the better of her.

"You know, Nik, I'm really starting to see the resemblance." Rebekah raised an eyebrow, but nevertheless grabbed on to the book with her brothers and Robbie.

June quickly activated the Portkey and they swirled back to Grimmauld Palace. The Weasleys and Hermione arrived a second too late to see the faces of the mysterious people.

"Do ya think it was more Death Eater scum?" Ron surveyed the area around them

"No, I-I think they're the ones who killed these Death Eaters." Hermione said hesitantly

Mr. Weasley nodded, "Yes, so it would seem. However, kids, I don't think we can assume anything."

Hermione bit her lip and wondered if this could have anything to do with June. She hadn't told the Weasleys about her phone call yet, and she doubted she would ever because she knew she was wrong in what she said. That didn't change the fact that she absolutely detested Juniper Potter for leaving them in the dust fo a bunch of strangers she hardly knew. However, after seven years of being best friends, Hermione was finding it a bit hard to let go of her best friend.

The Mikaelsons and Robbie swirled into existence inside Grimmauld Palace. As they congregated in the Kitchen, where they had stored Kol's body, June was feeling the cold, though she wasn't sure if it was because she was drenched from head to toe or because they could finally bring Kol back. Elijah placed a blanket over her shoulders and June nodded her thanks. She opened the little chest on the dining room table and pulled out the Resurrection Stone and quickly retrieved the Invisibility Cloak that she had brought with her.

Opening the coffin, June felt her eyes sting but shook her head. It wasn't a time for mourning, but a time for celebration. Soon her uncle would be returned to full health instead of a pile of charred flesh. Ignoring the slight scent of burnt flesh her nose picked up on, she placed the cloak over Kol's body and placed the Resurrection Stone in what she thought was his hand. Her family and Robbie gathered around behind her, all refusing to let their hopes soar to high just in case it all came crashing down.

June raised the wand, her hand steady as she focused her magic as much as she could as she began to speak the Latin chant and pray to any god out there that this would work, "Nimirum, ex altera anima vocatur, quia hoc corpus restituatur ad fo hanc vitam rediret. Quod non est sapiens a mortuis Mikaelson dz umbra Morbi sed eum Lamia!"

A bright, golden light shot out of the Elder Wand and flew into the coffin. It shined, lighting up the whole room, as the Mikaelsons all crowded around the coffin waiting to see if it would work. Robbie hung back, knowing it was a family matter and was just pleased knowing he had helped June.

As they stared down in the coffin, the watched as the golden light enveloped Kol's entire body. Slowly, from what they could see under the harsh light, his features were becoming more like they used to be before he was reduced to a pile of black and charred flesh. Suddenly the light died out. Kol's body was returned, but that was it. There was not a faint pulse of a barely beating heart that all vampires had, there wasn't the slight rise and fall of a chest, there as no movement behind his eyelids.

June felt as though her world was crumbling. She had hoped, she had so hoped, that this would've worked. Getting ready to turn away with the rest of her family, already wishing that she had never brought up a way to bring her uncle back. She should've just let herself and her family grieve like normal people would instead of going on a wild goose chase for a stone and a wand that were both useless.

It didn't work..." Rebekah breathed, feeling like she wanted to cry but knew it wasn't the time as she wrapped an arm around June's shoulder and pulled her niece close. June was prevented from moving away from her uncles coffin and, as she didn't want to look at her uncles face anymore, she closed her eyes. He looked like he could have been sleeping, no signs showed that just ten minutes ago he had been extra crispy all over. Elijah casted his eyes down as Klaus stared straight forward, jaw clinched. They couldn't believe their baby brother wasn't coming back. They'd never see him causing a ruckus or being an annoyance again.

All of a sudden, the sound of a breath being taken filled the room.

June's eyes snapped open just in time to see Kol's brown eyes open again. Slowly he blinked and raised an arm, stretching his fingers before he lowered it and sat up. He stared in astonishment at his family.

"Hell, I thought I'd never see any of you again." He sounded like Kol, even if his voice was cracked and dry

All of a sudden, at the same time, both June and Rebekah leaped downwards and crushed him in a hug. June smiled so widely, tears gathering in her eyes. Elijah smiled, staying back and watching the girls of their family practically kill Kol again with a hug.

After a minute or so, June and Rebekah allowed Kol to be able to breath again.

"You know, this is fun and all, but might I have a blood bag? I'm a bit peckish after dying and all." Kol smirked as June quickly ran to get one out of the fridge

Rebekah rolled her eyes and smacked him upside the head in a fond way, which caused Kol to cry out, "Hey! You do know, sister, that you shouldn't abuse the dead guy!"

"You're not dead anymore, brother dear!" Rebekah smiled, relief and happiness lacing her words

June returned a moment later and handed Kol the bag of blood. He drank it quickly, color returning to his cheeks as he finished it. Smiling, he ruffled his nieces hair.

"You look like shit." He stated, voice no longer cracking

Realizing she was still slightly damp from the lake and had blood on her clothes, June rolled her eyes, "Only because of you!"

Laughing, the formerly dead vampire turned to his brothers, "Elijah, Nik."

"It's good to see you again, brother." Elijah smiled widely at his youngest brother

Kol, in a stupid fit of nervousness, shifted his eyes to Klaus uncertainly. The man was rigid, no smile showing upon his face. The youngest Mikaelson brother felt his heart sink, maybe Nik really didn't want him back. Before another thought could cross his mind he was pulled into a hug by Klaus. Shock was really the only thing that Kol could register as Klaus quickly let him go.

"It's good to have you back, Kol."

The next hours were spent in the living room. Robbie had been introduced to Kol, who immediately took a liking to the boy because of his sarcasm. All too soon, though, Elijah was announcing they needed their sleep, especially Kol as he just came back from the dead and must be exhausted. June didn't seem to want to let him go, afraid he might disappear again. However, each of the Originals filed off up the stairs and soon it was only June and Robbie left in the living room.

"I'm happy you got your uncle back." Robbie smiled

"Me too. I couldn't have done it without your help." June returned the smile

"You could have." Robbie shook his head, "Your way stronger than you give yourself credit for."

"I'm not-"

"You are." Robbie cut her off, "Take the compliment."

She was about to protest again when, all of a sudden, a hand under her chin tilted her head up. Lips, very warm but still rough, rested of her forehead. They stayed there for about two seconds, and when they were gone, June missed their warmth. Blinking in shock as her heart nearly stopped beating and her cheeks turned red, June stared at Robbie with wide eyes. There, in the dimly lit hallway, he smiled at her one last time. It wasn't really a smile, just a small curve of his lips that June found adorable.

"Goodnight." With that, Robbie was gone and into his room

Cupping the spot where he kissed her forehead, June swallowed thickly, "N-Night..."

Her uncle coming back to life, her best friend kissing her...June needed one thing, and that was sleep.
