Chapter Twenty-eight: Love
DICLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter or Vampire Diaries!
SHOUTOUTS/NOTES: Sorry this update took so long! I had severe writers block for this story, but that's over with now!
"So, do you understand?" June spoke, glancing sideways at Robbie
"Yeah, I think so. Just let instinct take over, but don't go to far." The new hybrid chewed on his lip, "What if-?"
"I'll be there." June smiled softly, placing a hand on his shoulder
That smile, he loved that smile that was so rare. He hadn't seen it since all that Voldemort rubbish happened, and lately she seemed to be doing far too much frowning. It was a relief to see the way her face lit up, the way her lips curved, the way her teeth just barely peeked out from behind pink lips. The two had just left the Mikaelson house and were prowling on the streets, looking for some drunkard who'd be easy prey for a newly turned hybrid like Robbie.
"Good. I might need you." Robbie smiled then shook his head, "No, I'll always need you."
June seemed to sadden, her smile fading, "Not when I'm staking you in the heart."
"Hey!" Robbie laughed, "You didn't mean to and, besides, look where we are now! I'm gonna be with you until you get tired of me!"
"Never." June shook her head, licking her lips as she looked at the blue eyed young man
Had he heard what she'd said about him when he was on the brink of death? Had he heard her confess her love, pour out her heart over his dying body? She didn't know, but what she did know what that he needed real, fresh blood. Looking down the back ally ways, she saw the perfect victim. The wasted man was slumped over a bottle, already passed out and ready for the taking. Leading Robbie down to him, she watched him carefully as he started towards his prey. She saw his golden eyes and sharp, white fangs. She saw his hunger. As he bit into the mans neck, she tensed and readied herself to tear him off the poor human if need be. She had had poor control at first, and she wondered if that was the same for every newly turned vampire.
"Robbie." She cut in, seeing the mans skin begin to pale, "That's enough."
He ignored her.
"Robbie!" She barked, and when he seemed to not hear her again, he hand flashed out and gripped Robbie's shoulder
Due to him being caught off guard and her using a bit to much strength, the both went tumbling backward. Robbie landed beside her, eyes wide as sat up and blinked in shock, guilt pinching his features.
June smiled reassuringly, "We'll work on it."
She glanced at the nearly drained man before adding, "A lot."
"Yeah." The blue eyed hybrid wiped his bloody mouth on his sleeve, "I'll be needing it."
"C'mon, let's go get some food at the Mystic Grill. I'm sure dying is hungry work." June smiled when she saw his attention being averted from the situation at hand
"Yeah, I mean, nearly dying and then nearly killing someone, hungry business." Robbie frowned
June bumped his shoulder with hers as they began to leave the back ally way after making sure the old drunk was okay and breathing, "Hey, everyone isn't so great with feeding at first. You know, I hate to say it, but I was pretty terrible."
Robbie seemed vaguely surprised, "You? Did you come close like I did a few times?"
"I went farther. I've killed innocent people before." She looked down as if expecting him to judge her as Hermione or Ron would
"You didn't kill them." Robbie shook his head, "The Hybrid killed them, but you've got that under control now."
The green eyed girl shook her head, "That's what I love about you, you see the best in everything."
"Oh!" Robbie smiled happily, "You love me?"
"Yes." June nodded
Robbie laughed, apparently thinking the raven haired girl was being sarcastic, until he felt a pair of lips on his. Eyes popping wide open, Robbie quickly began to kiss her back as June wrapped her arms around his neck and he lifted her up off the ground. They broke the kiss, looking each other in the eyes.
"Ready to go get food?" Robbie whispered, tone questioning
"I was thinking a hotel." June blushed slightly, "I'm not all that hungry anyways, you?"
Bushing deeply at the implications behind her words, Robbie set her down on the ground and gripped her warm hand. As they rushed off the couple found that, with he right motivation, they found a hotel quickly.
"So." Caroline swished the drink around in her glass, "Where do you go now?"
Klaus sighed, considering the question, "New Orleans, I suppose. I do not want my family to be here any longer and I want to introduce my daughter to her future kingdom."
Caroline smiled slightly at the fond way he spoke about June, "She's a lot like you, you know."
"So I've been told." Klaus smirked
"You know." Caroline tilted her head, fluttering her eyes slightly, "I've always wanted to see new places, leave town and get away from everything."
Klaus turned to her, raising an eyebrow coolly, "Is that you wanting an invitation?"
Caroline smiled slightly, "Is that you offering an invitation?"
"Anything for you, love." Klaus chuckled slightly, "It would be good for my little witch to have a friend anyways. Well, besides that boy that I'm certain she'll drag along with her."
"He seems nice enough." Caroline sighed dramatically, "Besides, he literally died for her. If that's not true love, I don't know what is!"
Klaus sighed, shaking his head, "I have a feeling I'll regret letting you, Rebekah, and my daughter become close."
Question of the Chapter: So, what should happen with June/Robbie?
SO, Rune (Robbie/June) is officially a thing! They get a lot more cuteness in the next story 'Skinny Love' which I'm in the process of writing. There's one more chapter of this, and epilogue of sorts where they leave for New Orleans, then I'll upload Skinny Love and it'll be a whole nother Mikaelson family adventure.
