Chapter 8: Procure
"Hey, Syaoran."
Syaoran glanced behind him and found Kurogane approaching, who came from the bedroom.
"I got something for you," Kuro halted right after Syaoran turned around to face him.
"Yeah?"
"Do you notice the other guys with Yuui? You know, the other soldiers of the Queen?"
"Well, Watanuki did say he met another resident of this mansion."
"Yeah, and guess who found them all together coming out from one room?"
Syaoran frowned, "All together?"
Kurogane crossed his shoulders, "There are five men in total. We've met two of them already. Yuui's twin brother and the purple eyed guy. I think they were in a meeting."
"How'd you find them? Which room was it?" Syaoran asked eagerly for information.
"I was inspecting the entire mansion. There's literally no one else in this house aside from us and the five men I saw. The door to the room they were in is in the third floor, and saw light coming from there. Based on the shadow I saw inside the room, I think the said Dark Queen resides there."
"Really?"
"I tried checking the room after the men left. I was about to open the door when.." Kurogane furrowed his brows deeper.
"When?" Syaoran pressed.
"Fear consumed me. For the first time in a while." Kurogane closed his eyes as he held the bridge of his nose. "I never felt anything like that. I let go of the knob, and the feeling vanished. I knew then that her Majesty doesn't want anyone else entering the room." Kurogane sighed deeply. "I was very exhausted after that."
"Are you alright now?"
"Yeah, yeah," Kurogane dismissed him.
"If we can't get answers from the Queen, we can get answers from these men you spoke of." Kurogane and Syaoran turned their heads to the voice, and Watanuki appeared from the hallway.
Syaoran, determined, nodded his head. "We shall."
...
Syaoran and everyone else followed Kurogane to the room he mentioned and attempted to catch the men and corner them. They were not gonna ask for a fight, but simply interrogate them. Their lives could be in danger any moment. Syaoran stared at the back of Watanuki's head. He was worried that the longer they stay here, the chances of them surviving and going back to their own worlds would be slim.
They ascended the stairs and turned right immediately, and walked through the long hallway that seem to lead to the mysterious room. Everyone, including Doumeki and the two Mokonas, seemed on edge as they get closer to their destination. At the end of the hallway, Kurogane turned left then turned right, and a large room appeared in their sight. In the very center of the room was the door Kurogane mentioned, with a blue light glowing through the edges. The door itself appeared to be thick and heavy, and it looked like a spell was cast on it.
Yuui, Kurogane, and Doumeki settled to rest their back on the windows, just opposite from the door. The two Mokonas who usually played around, stayed rooted on Doumeki's shoulders. They all felt the tension and the thick air surrounding the floor.
"I guess we should just wait for them here," Watanuki spoke softly, and stepped closer to the door. The intricate patterns on the door, black and gold lines were swirling at every dent on the door.
Watanuki tried to touch the door with his fingertip, and nothing happened. Getting braver, he moved closer and leaned his right ear at the door.
He could hear murmurs and whispers through the door, but they were very muddled, as if a wall of water covered the door from the other side. Puzzled, Watanuki closed his eyes to focus on the voices more, but once he closed his eyes, a pair of blood red eyes was staring at him in the dark.
He flinched, stumbled backwards and opened his eyes.
"What is it?" Syaoran asked, concern painting his features.
"They know we're here waiting for them."
A creaking sound was heard as the mysterious door opened, the blue light from behind the door flooding the room. A man with brown wavy hair appeared, a smile on his face. He took two steps forward, and eyed them each.
Another guy appeared behind him, this time with black spiky hair paired with grayish blue eyes which seemed to sparkle the moment he saw the group outside, waiting for them. Another stepped out, the man in white cloak, who wore an annoyed expression, his purple eyes glaring at them.
A guy with black hair tied behind him stepped out as well, wearing a forehead protector with a symbol of a leaf with a swirl in the middle. There is a long horizontal scratch in the middle of his hitai-ate. And finally, Yuui, who seemed to be the last one from the group, left the room and saw Syaoran and his gang.
"Well," the first man who walked out of the room first spoke, "Shall we move to an appropriate room?"
...
Everyone settled down on their respective seats as they all gathered in the living room, Syaoran and his group on one side, Watanuki and his on the other. The Dark Queen's men were all standing, aside from the man whose brown hair moved freely with his movements and smile that never left his face.
"I know you are all itching to know what's been happening, and why it is happening to you guys, but first and foremost, introductions should be made, am I right?"
A scoff and a snort could be heard from behind him, as the four other men stood restlessly.
"Anyway," he continued, "We shall do this in a manner of exchanging information. We all introduce ourselves one by one alternately."
Syaoran and Watanuki nodded at the same time.
"My name is Li Tsubasa but prefer to be called Syaoran. I'm a traveller."
Neil gave him a small smile, "Why Syaoran?"
"Um," Syaoran hesitated, "It's a name I'm deeply attached to."
Neil gave a knowing look as the other men behind him acknowledged it.
"Alright. I guess it's my turn. The name is Neil Dylandy, alias Lockon Stratos. I used to be a Gundam Meister." His blue eyes looked somewhat cheerful as he tucked his brown wavy hair behind his ear.
"What's a Gundam Meister?" Whike Mokona asked, curious.
"That'll be for another time," Neil chuckled.
"Uh," Kurogane scratched his head. "Kurogane. A ninja warrior and travelling with Syaoran."
Silence passed.
"You're a ninja?" Black Mokona exclaimed.
"Shut up."
Someone cleared their throat and the black spiky haired guy stepped forward, "SOLDIER 1st Class, Zack Fair on the job!" Sporting a uniform that didn't seem to belong to this world.
"What are you, reporting to them?" The purple-eyed man sighed.
"Yuui D. Flowright." The mage stared at his brother opposite of him. "Just a travelling mage." Yuui smiled bitterly.
His twin brother noticed this.
"White Mokona!"
"Black Mokona!"
"Sayaka, Doumeki."
The five men stared at Doumeki expectantly, who sat comfortably with a blank look on his face.
After moments of silence and no reaction from Doumeki, Watanuki laughed it off awkwardly while scratching his head, "He's my helper."
A sigh was heard and the man with purple eyes decided it's his turn to introduce himself. "Lelouch vi Britannia. I am—"
"He's a prince," Zack cut him off.
"I am not." He glared at Zack. "Leader of Black Knight. Well," he paused. "Was." His purple eyes dulled to a violet color, his gaze still as sharp. He remained distant and indifferent.
"Itachi Uchiha, former Anbu Captain of Konoha, the Leaf Village." His jet black hair was pulled back into a ponytail, his onyx eyes held maturity and experience. He wore a black cloak with large red clouds, mesh armor underneath. "I am just a mere ninja now."
"Fye D. Flowright, as you may know I am Yuui's twin brother." Yuui introduced himself as he tied his long ebony hair. He wore a simple white polo shirt with a black vest and necktie, along with black slacks. "A mage as well."
Now that all five men introduced themselves and everyone else did, Watanuki was the only one left. Five pairs of eyes were waiting for him, expecting.
"My name is Kimihiro Watanuki," he fixed his glasses as he felt oddly shy, "A dimension wizard."
"Ohh, no wonder your presence seem familiar," Zack pitched in.
"What do you mean?" Watanuki asked, confused.
"Nothing, nothing," Zack dismissed with a wave of his hand. "Now that introductions are done, we can now discuss what we are to do with you lot." He crossed his elbows, his biceps automatically flexing. A playful smirk painted on his face, and the next words he spoke with arrogance, "I'm sure her Majesty is itching to kick you guys outta here."
A/N: Been a looong as- time since I last updated. I plan on continuing this by this year though, so look forward to it. Well, there's a good reason why various characters from various animes are included in the story. More coming, I assure you.
