Guess who graduated from college! Sorry that I have been MIA for soooooo long but I have been busy with school. I've missed writing for this story so I'm excited to get back into it. This chapter is kind of short but I hope to update again soon.
With a baby carrier resting on his arm, Fitz opened the front door to the home he would raise his child in. "You're home." He looked down at the sleeping infant.
"Where's my grandbaby?" Joan asked eagerly as she came around the corner.
"Oh, Joan's here." Mellie sighed. Fitz gave her a warning look over his shoulder as he sat the car seat down on the sofa.
"She's beautiful." Joan carefully lifted baby. "She's so tiny." Joan looked at Ellie trying to memorize the little details of her appearance. "I'm so proud of you." She looked up at her son. They sat down in the living room and made casual conversation for a while until Mellie decided that she was going to take a nap and going upstairs.
"Being a parent isn't easy." Joan spoke suddenly.
"I know."
"I mean it. I'm not saying this because I don't believe in you. I'm saying this because I've been alive long enough to know that things are going to be more difficult for her than they were for you, or Mellie, or even me. There are some ignorant people in this world that will see the color of her skin and pass judgment. You and Mellie have to prepare her for that. I pray that she'll never have to experience anything remotely close, but as her parents you have to make sure she knows how amazing she is."

"Mimi, can I have a cookie?" Joan looked down at the green eyes staring up at her.
"You'll have to ask your daddy." Joan and Olivia laughed as Ellie ran in the direction of her father.
"Daddy, can I have a cookie?"
"One cookie." Fitz held up a finger for emphasis. He watched his daughter as she grabbed a cookie and returned to her spot on Olivia's lap as if she had been doing it her whole life. He smiled softly as he watched Ellie get comfortable with her back leaning against Olivia's chest.
"Are you an only child, Olivia?" Joan asked continuing their conversation. Just like she did every weekend, Olivia was spending her Saturday with Fitz and Ellie. They decided to just relax at Fitz's house and were surprised when Fitz's mother, Joan, pulled into the driveway unannounced. Ellie was the most thrilled by the surprise visit once she laid eyes on the tray of cookies Joan brought with her.
"No, I have an older sister."
"I was the youngest of 4 and the only girl. When I tell you my brothers tortured me." Joan shook her head at the memories. "I'm hoping this one won't be an only child for much longer." Joan looked at Ellie before looking between Olivia and Fitz.
"Mom!" Fitz warned as he stood up and walked into the kitchen. He opened the refrigerator to grab a bottle of water. When he closed it he saw Olivia standing in the doorway. He walked towards her and placed his hands around her waist when he was close enough to reach. He kissed her sweetly. "Hi."
"Hi." Olivia smiled up at him.
"I'm sorry about my mother. I had no idea she was going to show up today."
"It's okay." Olivia ran her hands down his chest. "She's sweet."
"She can also be a bit of handful."
Olivia shrugged. "It could be a lot worse."
"You're right. I don't even want to think about what she could do." He kissed her again. "I love you."
"I love you, too." Olivia ran her fingers through the curls on the back of his neck. "She was right about one thing, though."
"What's that?"
"El does need a sibling."
Fitz looked at her for a moment before speaking. "Livvie, are you sure? We've never discussed…"
"I'm sure." Olivia spoke. "We've never talked about it but I love you and I see the way you are with Ellie. I can't imagine having kids with anyone else."
Before she could speak again, Fitz's mouth was on hers kissing her hungrily. "I can't wait to have children with you."
"Two I think."
"Four." Fitz argued.
"No way."
"We'll see." Fitz kissed her again. His hands settled on her ass and pushed her body closer to his. Olivia moaned into his mouth.
"I was wondering where you two ran off to." Olivia and Fitz separated. Olivia buried her head in Fitz's neck to hide the fact that she was blushing. Fitz turned and looked at his mother who standing across from them with an amused smile on her face. "I remember those days. You can't keep your hands off one another. You know when your father and I first got married-" Joan began.
"Mom!" Fitz interrupted before she could say something they would wish to forget.
"Alright. Alright." Joan raised her hands in surrender. "I just came in here to get my baby girl some juice and another cookie."
Fitz shook his head as Olivia laughed softly at the exchange.

As the day continued Joan seemed to calm down the harassment. Her and Olivia had become quite fond of each in the short amount of time that they'd spent together and we're already making plans to go shopping. "Fitz, I like her." Joan spoke to Fitz quietly when they had a moment alone.
"I do too." Fitz smiled.
"Please don't mess this up. She loves you and she loves Ellie."
"I'm not gonna mess this up, Mom. I never want to lose her. I'm gonna ask her to marry me one day."
"Good."
Sorry this was so short but I wanted to give you guys something since I have been away for so long. Let me know what you think.
