"Addie?" She asked. I smiled.

"Hey Callie." I said happily as a tear slid down my cheek.

"Addison why are you crying?" Callie asked.

"You scared the shit out of us Callie!" I exclaimed wiping away the few tears.

"Sorry." Callie coughed. "What is wrong with me?" She asked and rubbed her eyes tiredly.

"Uh, you are in kidney failure actually." I said quietly.

"Oh dang." Callie breathed and ran the hand without the IV in it through her hair. I nodded and fidgeted with a piece of my red hair. "What are they doing for it?" Callie asked finally after a long period of awkward silence.

"Well they have you on dialysis for now." I told her. Callie nodded.

"Have they mentioned removing it?" Callie asked. I shook my head.

"Only if the dialysis doesn't do its job." I told her. Callie nodded.

"So any reason why I've got a killer headache?" Callie asked curiously.

"You fell when you passed out and hit your head pretty hard. Derek said you have a small intracranial bleed that he's monitoring closely but is extremely confident will resolve on its own." I explained. Callie nodded slowly.

"Damn I'm messed up." Callie breathed. I nodded.

"That's not just today though." I joked. Callie glared. Mark came in and ran to give Callie a hug.

"Callie! Thank God you are awake. I was so worried babe." Mark said softly. Callie smiled.

"It's okay Mark. I'm tough." Callie told him. Mark smiled and pushed a strand of her raven-colored hair behind her right ear. Alex came back into the room with Callie and Mark's kids in tow. Kimberly, Teo, and Trenton all crowded around Callie and gave her hugs. Alex placed his hand on my shoulder and rubbed it comfortingly. I reached back and grabbed his right hand. Alex bent down close to my ear so that his breath tickled my skin.

"Let's go home for a bit Addie. Bailey and Mason are with Derek and Meredith for sleepovers." Alex reminded me. I grinned and nodded.

"I'll come check on you later Cal." I told Callie and stood up from my chair. Callie winked at me. I rolled my eyes and allowed Alex to lead me out of her room. A few hours later I Alex and I were laying in our bed next to each other naked. I had my hand rested on his chest and my chin resting on his shoulder.

"Do you ever think about more kids?" Alex asked. I shrugged and drew circles on his abs.

"Sometimes." I admitted. "Do you?" I asked. Alex nodded.

"Yes. I think three is a magic number." Alex admitted. I smiled and nodded.

"We could try again." I suggested. Alex smiled.

"Deal." He said and leaned down to kiss me. I smiled when we pulled away.

"What was that for?" I asked. Alex smiled.

"Let's try right now. I'm out of condoms now." Alex admitted.

"Alex we just finished." I groaned.

"But the kids will be back tomorrow." Alex pointed out. I sighed but willingly jumped on him.

Callie's View

Two weeks later

My brain bleed was gone and the dialysis was doing great which was a huge relief to everyone. I was ready to get out of the hospital bed and back into the OR but I knew they were only taking so long on releasing me because they wanted to make sure everything was okay. Addison came in and sat with me often which helped a little and I was allowed to walk around often. I wore my scrubs and not a hospital gown as well. Lexie Grey came into my room around lunch time with a big grin on her face.

"You can finally go home!" She said excitedly. I grinned.

"Thank God. If I have to spend another night away from my kids I might lose it." I told her. Lexie smiled.

"We wouldn't want that." She teased and unhooked me from my IV. I rolled my eyes. "Hurry up and sign your discharge papers." Lexie complained. I rolled my eyes and snatched the pen from her. I signed them and hopped down from my bed.

"Thanks Lexie." I told her and started to walk out of the room.

"Addison said she wanted to see you in her office before you left!" Lexie called after me. I nodded to her and kept on walking. I found Addison in her office after I went to grab a snack from the vending machine. She had her head down on her desk. I wasn't sure if she was asleep, feeling bad, or just stressed.

"Addie?" I asked. Addison slowly raised her head. She smiled when she noticed it was me.

"Hey Callie." She said and wiped her eyes tiredly.

"You okay?" I asked. Addison nodded.

"I am so tired. Mason was up all night screaming and hollering. He's got a nasty ear infection." Addison explained. I nodded. Kim got those all the time.

"Did you try some warm salt?" I asked. Addison shook her head.

"Warm salt?" She asked quizzically. I nodded seriously.

"It always helps Kim." I told her. Addison shrugged.

"He has antibiotics, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it." Addison decided.

"You should, anyways, Lexie said you wanted to see me?" I asked. Addison nodded and stood up from her desk.

"I thought we could do your twelve week ultrasound before you went home." Addison suggested. I nodded and we walked down to the ultrasound exam room together. Addison ran all the tests that go along with a regular appointment before having me roll up my shirt and squirting the gel on it.

"How does it look?" I asked when she'd had adequate time to find the baby.

"It looks great Callie. I'm just keeping a close eye on some amniotic tissue I see starting to form." Addison told me.

"God, anything else want to go wrong today?" I joked. Addison smiled.

"Come on Callie, on the bright side you got out of the hospital today and you got to keep your kidney. On the other side of it, there aren't any amniotic bands either, I'm just seeing a little tissue build up." Addison reminded me. I sighed.

"It just feels like everything is going wrong." I sighed. Addison smiled sympathetically.

"I'll trade you for a screaming in pain two year old." Addison suggested. I rolled my eyes and took the paper towel Addison was offering me. I wiped the nasty goop off my small baby bump. Someone knocked on the door. I pulled my shirt back down and Addison opened the door. Mark was standing in the hallway holding a very upset Kimberly.

"Hey, uh the nurse said you were in here. Kim threw up at daycare." Mark said awkwardly. Kimberly let out a pathetic heartbreaking wail.

"Mommy!" Kimberly cried painfully and reached out to me.

"Aw baby girl. Mark give her here." I said and Mark slid Kimberly into my arms. I felt Kimberly's forehead with the back of my hand. She was burning up. Kimberly buried her face in my chest. "Come on Kimmy cub. Let's go home and take a nice warm bath and then get on our Frozen PJ's okay?" I suggested. Kimberly nodded.

"Okay." She croaked.

"Mark pick Trenton and Teo up later, I'm taking Kimberly home." I told him. Mark nodded and kissed Kimmy on the cheek before kissing me softly on the lips. Addison picked up Kimberly's right foot and kissed it lightly.

"Feel better Kimmy." Addison said and waved as I carried Kimberly out of the room. Once we got home I set up a nice bubble bath and sat her in it. She looked so pitiful. After her bath I helped her into her favorite Elsa pajamas and tucked her into bed. I took her temperature and my heart broke when it read back 101.5. I made her take some admittedly nasty fever reducer and then popped Frozen into her DVD player. I crawled into bed next to her and held her.

"Mommy, my tummy hurts." Kimberly complained only a few minutes into the movie. Next thing I knew I was covered in throw up. I gagged and tried to keep my own throw up down. I could see throw up no problem, but I couldn't stand being thrown up on. I sighed and climbed out of her bed. I changed clothes and then lifted her out of her bed. Thankfully she hadn't gotten throw up on her pajamas. I carried her into the living room and laid her on the couch. I even took the time to move Frozen out to the living room TV. Then I went to work on changing her sheets. By the time I had new sheets on her bed and the nasty ones drying Frozen was over and playing the title screen over and over. Kimberly was fast asleep. I smiled and grabbed her Little Mermaid blanket and draped it over her. I kissed her lightly on the cheek and sat a bucket down by her head. I settled myself into an arm chair and started to read Nights in Rodanthe. Next thing I knew I was fast asleep. Mark woke me up some hours later by gently kissing me on the cheek.

"Hey Cal. Let's go to bed." Mark whispered. I glanced over at the couch. Kimberly wasn't there anymore.

"Where's Kimberly?" I asked and rubbed my eyes sleepily.

"I carried her to bed. Were those the sheets she had this morning?" Mark asked. I laughed and shook my head.

"No she threw up on those." I told him. "How is she?" I asked.

"She threw up but in the bucket. I gave her half of a Finagrin so she's fast asleep." Mark told me. I nodded and got up from the armchair. That night I fell asleep in Mark's arms for the first time in two weeks and it was amazing.
