Chapter 4 : Still Fantasying

When I woke up I had this fuzzy feeling in my head. I opened my eyes slowly and saw an old wooden ceiling. What..? My ceiling doesn't look like this. I nearly jumped up but quickly remembered that Sparkle was still laying on my lap. I looked down at her and I wrapped my arms around her. I turned my attention towards the dingy looking house and observed it from the chair. I found that besides myself, Sparkle and some rodents there was no one else in the room.

The house draped in darkness because it was night. I could tell because there was no light coming from the darkened windows. A few candles with brownish colored wax lit up the house, but only to the point where you could make out dark shapes.

I stood up with Sparkle in my arms. My back and my neck were both stiff from having in an unnatural position for to long. I cradled Sparkle with one arm and I rubbed my neck looking around the room. I was still trying to get used to the strange house that I woke up in. I was hoping that I dreamed up what happened, but it seems that what is happening to me is reality.

When heard the sound of I scampering I looked on the ground to find the source. As I look closer at the corners I saw small hairy rodents piled in them. Disgusted I backed away a from them and another sound protruded my ear. Foot steps. With suspicion I looked towards the unopened bedroom door with the lights shining through at the bottom of it. Then the door then opened.

"Hello?" I called, looking at the room. I heard the foot steps stop right in front of the door and out came a small brownish man. As he came down the hallway a scowl came across my face as I tried to see who it was through the darkness.

"Oh, you have awakened. That's very good." He said. Radagast, he named into my head as I remembered who he was.

"Yes." I answered him. I then remembered that I had fainted. My mind went back just before that happened to discovered the reason blue smoke... He made the blue smoke appear from that bottle. I looked at him with hesitation.

"What was that stuff that you made turn into smoke?" I asked taking a step back. Like most people, I see unexplained and unnatural surprises as a threat sometimes. Usually I just think it's better to avoid things like this. But as they seem to happen quite often in the world I try to be more open-minded towards them. However this...freaked me out.

"It was just a call." He said ? I thought.

"I thought you didn't have a phone?" I asked confused.

"I don't know what a phone is nor do I have one, but the smoke itself was a signal from a friend of mine. He was signaling to me that he was coming to visit." He said.

"Oh..." I said still confused. I didn't want to seem foolish by asking to many questions. After we were done talking Radagast walked to the shelf on one of the sides of the house and started messing around with little rocks. I felt out of place and awkward just standing there doing nothing so I sat back down.

After a while of sitting I started thinking about my home. Where was it? Where was I? How am I going to get back? Unwanted salty tears started to fall run down from my eyes and around the curves of my face. When I started to sniffle I caught Sparkles attention. She look up at me and pulled her ears back. Then she started to get up on her hind legs to get to my face and lick it. I just rubbed her head and tried to stop my tears. I want to go home.

Radagast stopped what he was doing and looked straight at me. I looked at him strangely before looking back down to Sparkle. He looked as if he had just decided on something. I tried to look hide my face hoping that he didn't he see me crying. I rubbed Sparkle's head as I sat back into the chair and held my gaze at the floor.

"I think it's time to have something to get something to eat don't you think?" Radagast said as he looked at me. I nodded my head and started to wipe my face with the sleeve of my jacket. I remembered that I had food in my book bag and I got up to get it. I turned around and sat Sparkle down on the chair by herself. Then I looked down at her straight into her shiny black eyes and said a firm 'stay'. And I also signaled it with my hand.

She watched me the whole team as I moved to look into my book bag. I opened the first part of the bag and looked through the papers to find my lunch box and other smacked that I had packed for school. This stuff that I had packed from home reminded me of when I stood in the kitchen preparing it.I slowed down my hand movements as I breathed in a heavy sigh.

After i took out my lunch, now dinner, I turned around with said items in my hands. I walked over to the thankfully now rodent free table and put the plastic protected foods on the table. On the table I saw that he already had prepared some food. Mostly berries, nuts, apples and mushrooms... And oddly colored mushrooms.

"I didn't eat my lunch yet and I don't want it to go to waste." I said to him and he gave me a nod. I didn't want it to seem as if was avoiding his food. After I had opened my lunch box that had my sandwich in it and I took hand sanitizer out of my purse before I touched my food and smeared it all over my hands.

Radagast was watching me carefully as if my habits were strange. I shook it off and I started eating my sandwich which is not that big of a task so it allowed me to get lost in my thoughts. I usually escape into fantasy when things started to get boring or the atmosphere around me wasn't really a pleasant one. And my fantasies usually circled around the Avengers, Twilight and the Lord of the Rings. Since the atmosphere around the room gave a woodsy feeling so I thought about Lord of the Rings.

I saw myself at the forbidden pond found by Faramir. I was surrounded by men with arrows pointed at me. Faramir waved some of them aside to get through.

"Who is it that trespasses on our lands alone?" He asked me. His voice was full of confidence. I put my hood down while I looked straight at him. I was afraid of the dangerously pointed arrows that were pointed in my direction. My eyes were innocent. My lips they were pink and smooth. My hair came down in dark brown waves that were pulled back loosely and laid on my back. Faramir looked at me confused wondering why a beautiful women was traveling alone.

"My lady?" Faramir asked as he came slowly towards me. I didn't want to seem weak but needed to find out were these men dangerous.

"Are you going to hurt me?" I asked turning my body slightly away from full lips pressed into a line.

"No...We didn't know that you were a women with your hood up, my apologies. " He said then he waved his hand to signal the men to put their weapons down.I still remained skeptical of whether or not they were going to hurt me. I had much reason to. I was just a teenage girl just legally an adult surrounded by powerful soldiers. When Faramir came towards me and I stepped back.

"My lady, I will not hurt you." He said in a soft voice and held out his hand to me. I looked into his eyes. I saw nothing but gentleness that melted in the blue light of them. I took in an unheard breath and nodded. As I took his hand I felt a bond form like no other. I kept my eyes on his face as he led me away to warmth and safety with a soft smile on his face...

I woke up from the fantasy to find Radagast bending down in his seat. I wondered what caught his attention and leaned over to look at what he was doing at the other side of the table. I saw that he was feeding some of his rodent friends around his chair. Then I started to wonder was there any around chair so I looked down.

"Ahh!" I screamed and hitched my feet up to my seat. Radagast looked at me.

"They will not hurt you." He said with an eyebrow raised. Their beady little eyes looked at me also as if to say the same thing he did, only with the 'are you an idiot' essence. I looked around the room trying to ignore the small feet that scampered around my seat. After a while of biting my lip I looked down at the chair to see if there were still rodents around it. I released a breath of relief once I saw that they were gone. I guess after not receiving food for a time from me they lost interest and went away.

I looked down at Sparkle to see her looking at me with her head on her paws that were at the edge of the chair.I looked down to see if the coast was clear of any rodents, thanfully their weren't any rodents in sight. I got down and went over to her. I picked her up and held her in a way that she could lay her little head on my shoulder.

I went over to my book back to get her some food. As I leaned down to unzip the bag she looked over my shoulder and saw her food container so she sniffed the air for it. I felt eyes on me and I looked up and saw Radagast was staring at the dog container and that I just took out of my bag. I looked thoughtful for a few seconds before shrugging it off . I went back over to the seat I that I had sat Sparkle and sat her down on my legs. Then I opened the container for her.

"You must be hungry Sparkle." I spoke to her as she ate the food that I had given her earlier today. When I saw that she was done I sat her back on the chair once moreand put the food container back into my bag. Then I headed back to the table to collect my trash , looking around for rodents while I went back over to the table. Then when I was done I went back over to sparkle and sat down with her on my lap again. Radagast looked up at me before facing down at the little animals again.

"You care very much for your as animal companion." He stated. I looked at him.

"Yes, I love her." I said with a small smile. After he nodded his head at me I decided that it was as good as a time as any to discuss how I was getting back home. I didn't mention it before because I didn't want seem because of his offered hospitality.
