I only own my Oc and any Jutsu I create

That night I went to bed early after setting my alarm for 4am because between packing and getting Naruto up and ready I'd need the extra time. Morning came all too soon and I shuffled into the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair, putting it up in the same style as yesterday. After that I dressed in a copy of the same outfit as well, I had three of them.

After getting myself ready it was only a quarter after so I grabbed the backpack from my closet and placed all my ninja gear in it which consisted of ten meters of ninja wire, 30 shuriken, 25 kunai, 15 senbon, food and soldier pills, medical herbs and ointments, bandages, a compass, and canteen. After this I went into the kitchen and placed four apples into the remaining space in my bag and then made a light breakfast of buttered toast and water, for me and Naruto to share.

It was 4:30 and I needed to Get Naruto up dressed and fed...it would be difficult at best. I grabbed one of the glasses of water as a plan B and entered his...could you still call it a room if there was so much mess and old ramen containers that you were worried some of it was alive? My brother was sleeping on his stomach, shirt exposing his stomach and butt in the air...oh Naruto.

I decided to be nice first and try the kind way of waking him up "Naruto. Naruto?" I cooed loudly

Naruto barely twitched and let out a loud grunting snore. Time to try again.

"Naruto! Naruto you need to wake up for training!" I yelled a little louder than before

He twitched a little and mumbled something in his sleep, but still refused to wake. Last ditch effort before I got nasty.

"Naruto we're outta ramen!" I yelled sounding appalled

"No, my ramen Akane-nee." Naruto mumbled hugging his pillow tightly

I let out a heavy sigh "I'm really sorry Naruto, but you've left me no other choice." I lifted the glass over his head and dumped some of it over him

He jolt up sputtering a little and looking completely baffled, but once he saw me he calmed down "Aw Akane-nee why'd you have to do that I was having the best dream believe it!" he whined

"Sorry Naruto, but we only have...fifteen minutes till we gotta be at the training grounds ya know." I answered glancing at his clock

His eyes widened and he pushed me out of his...man-cave? yelling at me to get out the whole time until he could slam the door at my back. I just raised an eyebrow at the door and shrugged his weirdness off.

It only took Naruto five minutes to get dress and come hurdling out fulling dressed and I only just managed to grab his jacket collar before he shot passed me out the door.

"Oh no you don't, I made toast and you're going to eat some of it even if it's only on the way there." I warned him my eyes narrowing in there Don't-test-me glare

Naruto gulped, but nodded and received the toast and we both walked calmly out the door with our pack on our backs. We walked together to the training grounds in silence, mostly because Naruto was too tired to make conversation and he was slowly eating threw the toast I gave him.

When we got within eyesight of our meeting spot I saw Sasuke making his way towards us at the same slow pace, though he looked decidedly more awake than Naruto, until we met up in a semi triangle.

Hours passed and the sun rose bringing light and bird song, Naruto and I had sat down and while he tried to catch a few more minutes of sleep I was meditating contemplating what we could be doing and what we would need to pass. The sun was near high noon by the time Kakashi sensei showed up.

"Morning everyone ready for your first day?" He questioned casually as though he didn't just make us wait hours upon end which we could have used for better means

Naruto shot up with renewed vigor yelling out he was late.

"Well a black cat crossed my path so I had to take the long way." Kakashi excused himself poorly, pointing over his shoulder eyes closed

Naruto groaned and me and Sasuke looked at him like he was an idiot for believing that would fool us and Kakashi cleared his throat before speaking again.

"Well, let's get started." He said walking over to a smaller grey training stump and setting a clock on it "Here we go it's set for noon." he told us as he pushed the large button on top down

Naruto made a noise of confusion which was followed by the ringing of bells. Kakashi had two dangling from his fingers "Your assignment is very simple you just have to take these bells from me. That's all there is to it." he informed us as he jingled them

I doubted that was all there was to it, there was most likely a ulterior motive to the bells and there only being two would present a problem.

"If you can't get them by noon you go without lunch, you'll be tied to those posts and you'll watch as I eat my lunch in front of you." He told us pointing to the three larger training posts next to us

I could see that Naruto and Sasuke had just figured out the breakfast thing as Sasuke gave me a sideways look, or realized I was right, and I was glad I had extra food in my bag and had forced myself and my brother to at least eat some toast this morning though I knew it was in no way filling.

"Wait, wait a minute there's three of us right? Right? So how come there's only two bells huh?" Naruto asked all of a sudden

"Well that way at least one of you will end up tied to a post and ultimately disqualified for failing to complete the mission. That one goes back to the academy." Kakashi said almost cheerfully as he jingled the bells taunting us "Then again all three of you could flunk out too. You can use any weapons including shuriken, if you're not prepared to kill me you won't be able to take the bells."

"Weapons can be dangerous in the wrong hands, can we be assured that no lasting damage will be done to any of us?" I asked crossing my arms my face grave

Naruto simply laughed not getting how serious this had all just become and in a way I envied his naivety "Especially seeing as he couldn't even dodge that eraser."

"Class clowns are usually the weakest links, you can safely ignore them, lowest scores, losers." Kakashi commented trying to get Naruto mad and I could see it was working

"You forget something sensei, while joking at an inopportune time may distract us unnecessarily from our mission a joke made when all others are losing hope may boost moral, *one grain of rice can be the difference between victory and defeat. Ya know?" I countered and saw how Naruto was starting to reign his temper in

"When I say start you can begin." Kakashi said now blantantly ignoring me and Naruto..which just set him off

Naruto pulled out a kunai by it's loop, spun it in hand until he had the proper grip and charged without thought at Kakashi sensei. In a faster time then it took to blink Kakashi sensei had the hand that held Naruto's kunai behind back and pointing at his own head with his other hand placed firmly on top of Naruto's hair. I had my own kunai at Kakashi's throat and I could see his visible eye widen when he realized this fact. He hid his astonishment quickly, but I was still able to catch a glimpse of it.

"You should let him go now you know." I told him

"Don't be in such a hurry I didn't say start yet." He answered both of us as he then released Naruto keeping his kunai "But you came at me with the full intent of destroying me so..." He paused to chuckle "How can I say this? I'm actually starting to like you guys. Get ready. Aaand start!"

We launched ourselves in different directions, but I managed to keep track of where everyone had hidden themselves, but first I needed think. What was the ulterior motive for this lesson? Why two bells? That one was easy to cause dissension in the group and split up the team...team! Of course how could I be so stupid, it's so obvious that no one would think about it! The key to three Genin taking on an elite Jounin was teamwork! Something so obvious would be missed by most because it was something so simple and taught so often that you would think this was about something newer and greater than teamwork ya know?!

I face-palmed at the simpleness of this exercise and tuned back into what was happening around me, apparently while I was off in, duh captain obvious land Naruto and Sasuke had been busy...well Naruto had been at least.

It appeared Naruto had beaten himself up when he created shadow clones to attack Kakashi sensei and Kakashi used the replacement jutsu on a clone switching places with it. Naruto then noticed something shiny on the ground, which turned out to be a trap bell, and before I could rush in to stop him he was hanging pathetically from a tree by his ankles...it's sad that he's my brother sometimes.

"A ninja must see through deception." Kakashi spoke loud enough for all of us to hear

I knew he was trying to hint at us what we were supposed to be doing and I was glad I had already figured it out, if I could get Naruto or Sasuke to work with me we could both get a bell. Sasuke was unlikely and Naruto may not cooperate either so I'd have to get scary enough to make them both behave...that made me wonder...should I use my chakra chains to my advantage? Should I reveal them to who would be my new sensei? Could I trust him not to tell even the Hokage? I wasn't sure and that made me uneasy, I decided to only use them if I had no other choice.

While I was think this Sasuke had launched a barrage of shuriken and kunai into Kakashi only to have him poof into a log. I could tell Sasuke would be getting the heck out of dodge and change his position though it would do no good if Kakashi sensei was paying attention to where he was going and tracking him.

I first made sure that Kakashi wasn't in the area, though he still could be and I would have little way of knowing it, before revealing myself to get Naruto down and away from the second trap that waited for him once he touched the ground. As I approached I could hear Naruto whining about what Kakashi had told him instead of learning from it.

"Hey Naru-nii you're in a bit of a pickle ya know?" I teased cheakily

" Just get me down from here!" He yelled waving his arms around

"Ok, ok, but ya gotta be quiet ya know? Or Kakashi sensei will hear us, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if he was watching us right now." I informed him as I glanced around

I jumped up onto the branch closest to him "I need you to swing to me and hang onto this branch so I can cut you down safely ok? Oh and don't touch the ground straight under the tree." I told him

"What? Why?" He asked confused

"Because there's a second rope noose waiting to bring you back up here just underneath you." I answered simply

He muttered and oh and then began to swing over to me as I have instructed and once he was close enough I grabbed his hands and pulled until he could get a solid grip on the branch I was standing on, I then climbed to the branch he was tied to and cut the rope, but by the time I made it back down he had untied himself and launched off again...so much for asking about teamwork.

"Guess I'll just try to get Sasuke to help me." I muttered dejectedly doubting that I could get him to listen let alone cooperate

"And why would you want to do that? Are you another of his fan club?" Kakashi voiced as he appeared suddenly before me

"God no, ugh don't insult me Kakashi sensei. I need his and Naruto's help in order to get those bells, they should have both realized we have no chance against you alone." I answered my face twisting in disgust

"Oh? So you've figured it out already." Kakashi stated more than asked

"A ninja must see through deception weren't those your words? Your biggest deception was that we needed the bell alone to pass when in reality simple working together towards a common goal would have worked just as well wouldn't it?" I hedged my guess

"Hm. I suppose I underestimated you, given that it's taken you three times to graduate I would have expected less of you than this, but I can see you've been using your own form of deception haven't you?" He commented tilting his head "Well no matter, you may be different than the others, but I wonder if you'll be able to see through this. Shinobi battle skill number two the illusion jutsu."

After he had finished speaking he disappeared in a swirl of leaves, what Kakashi didn't seem to know was Genjutsu was my best subject in class as I was built more for speed then strength like Naruto.

"A-Akane." A pained voice muttered my name

I turned with hardened eyes to see Sasuke and Naruto supporting each other kunai and shuriken sticking out of them and various wounds covering their bodies.

"Really Kakashi sensei...this is pathetic, did you really think such a poor low level genjutsu would shake me? Even one where my brother and teammate were severely injured?" I asked the air "Release." I said blankly

The images in front of me instantly vanished, but Kakashi was long gone, most likely he was after Sasuke or Naruto again. I needed a plan, a strategy if I was going to get any help from the boys or go it alone much as I didn't want to it might be my only option.

The easiest plan would be to find them while they were attacking Kakashi sensei and use them as a distraction while I transformed an acorn or pebble into a bell and switch them with a substitution, it would be tricky, but I might be able to pull it off. I could even distract him myself with my chakra chains if I had to.

"So you're just going to sit there and do nothing? I thought you were better than the other two, perhaps I was overestimating you this time." Kakashi's voice interrupted my musing

"No you didn't I was just thinking of a way to bring you down with or without help and basing off the fact that you're here and not toying with the boys I'd guess you've already trapped them again right?" I commented as I got up from the ground dusting my butt off

"So you think you can beat me on your own now?" Kakashi asked skeptically

"No, in fact I don't think I have a chance without my team, but they need me to do this for them and for the mission. So I'll do my best even if it means I'll only be incapacitated." I answered him coolly

"And why would you do that hmm?" Kakashi hummed

"Because their my team and I gotta help them reach their dreams ya know?" I smiled making the hand sign for clones

Four clones appeared from the smoke in front of me each looking exactly like me. At my silent signal they launched at him one after the other

"Shadow clones huh? You know your brother already tried that." Kakashi informed me as he dodged their attacks easily

What he didn't see was that I had a chakra chain snaking it's way from my back down my leg and around to wrap around him

"I know, they're just a distraction." I answered as the chain tightened around his feet

"What?!" He gasped in surprise his eyes widening as the chain quickly bound him being sure to pin his arms and hands to his sides so that he couldn't form any hand signs

I couldn't keep the chains up for long so I rushed over to get the bells, but just as I touched them the alarm went off signaling the end of the time limit and my failure to our team. Kakashi smiled behind his mask closing his eye as he poofed away leaving my chains to clatter to the ground before disappearing back inside me.

"Damn, almost had them." I muttered to myself
