"Can I help you?" Joe asked.
"We are looking for Joe Sparkman," Jamie said as she and Don flashed their badges.
"I'm Joe, what can I do you for?" Joe asked.
Don put his hand on his gun as a precaution and asked. "Can we come in?"
"I'd like to talk here," Joe said, smiling tentatively.
"Do you remember Dale Cabrera?" Jamie asked.
"No, who is he?"
"He was a bully who got punched by your dad," Don said.
"I remember someone getting in a fight with my dad but he didn't start it," Joe replied. "Why are you asking about Dale? Did he finally decide to file a complaint?" Joe added tersely.
"No, Dale was found dead," Jamie said.
Joe giggled a bit, "okay, well. I never knew him so I don't know why you guys are asking me."
"Your name came up during the course of the investigation and we are talking to everyone who knew Dale," Don said then continued, "During our investigation, we noticed a parking ticket in the area of the docks and the car was registered to you, care to explain that?"
"Andrew Bibbs used my car," Joe said.
Jamie's eyebrows rose. "When did he use your car?"
"April 28th," Joe answered.
"What did he want to use it for?" Don asked.
"He didn't say, but he also borrowed my boat, too," Joe said.
"How long did he have the boat and car for?" Jamie asked.
"A few hours," Joe said then continued. "Is that all for you detectives?"
"Yeah, we'll be in touch," Don said then after the door closed, they walked back to the car.
"Let's get a warrant for the car and boat at least," Jamie said.
"We can do that," Don said. With his phone in his hand, he called for a warrant for the car and boat which were taken for processing hours later.
June 3st at the lab-
Adam had finished processing the items that were in Sam's apartment that were reported stolen. He called Mac who was spending the day with Christine, who had taken the day off to be with him.
"Hi, Mac, I have some great news."
"Adam, just tell me what you found. I know I told you to call me," Mac said. He was at home waiting for Christine to show up so he could make breakfast.
"Okay, well, Christine's candlestick and vase were recovered and Stan's bracelet and college ring were also recovered. There are items that have been stolen from other residences that have been recovered and some receipts were found from pawnshops since some of the stolen items were sold. Lindsay and Jo are off to the pawnshops to retrieve the stolen items."
"Thanks, Adam," Mac said.
"Anytime, boss," Adam said then hung up.
At Mac's apartment-
Mac had finished his shower and went in his kitchen to get the items for breakfast ready. The doorbell rang, and he walked over to the door and let Christine in.
"Morning, Mac," Christine said with a smile.
"Morning, Christine," Mac said as Christine kissed him.
"Why don't you sit down and I'll make us breakfast."
"I would love breakfast you're making," Christine said as she smiled while seated at the table.
"Hey, here's an update for you," Mac said then continued, "A few days ago, Jo and I caught a guy breaking into a home so we apprehended him. Adam and the CSU went to his apartment where he saw some of the items that were in the police report," Mac said as he flipped the two eggs.
"What do you mean? You found my stuff?" Christine sounded excited.
"Yep," Mac said happily as he continued cooking.
"When will I get the stolen items back?" Christine asked.
"Adam called me before you came and said he had finished processing it. Did you want the items today?" Mac put the food on the plates.
"Could I get them today?" Christine asked happily while Mac walked over with the plates and set them on the table.
"You can, I'll call him after breakfast."
"Okay, thank you, honey." Christine smiled and gave Mac a kiss.
"Actually, you should also thank Jo, who noticed the guy breaking in," Mac said.
"I'm glad to get my stuff back, I have to admit, I haven't even told my parents about it since I knew they would be upset," Christine said as they started to eat.
June 3rd at the apartment of the Ackers-
Danny and Jo knocked on the door to the Acker's apartment.
Peter answered the door, opening it slowly, keeping an eye on the detectives. "Yes?"
"I'm Detective Danville and this is Detective Messer, we would like to speak with Michelle."
"What is this about?" Peter asked.
"Her name came up in an investigation of one of her former co-workers," Danny said, feeling as though Peter was being evasive.
"Did something happen to the co-worker?" Peter asked.
"We'd like to talk to Michelle about her former co-worker," Jo said, wondering why Peter was being so suspicious.
"Okay," Peter replied, and then left to go get Michelle.
A few minutes later they came in the room and sat on the couch. Michelle looked like she had been taking a nap.
"Do you remember this man?" Danny showed a picture of Dale to Michelle then put it in his pocket.
Michelle rubbed her eyes, "I don't remember him."
"He worked in your office until maybe a month ago but was fired for not showing up for work," Jo said as she looked at them.
"I heard a guy was fired but what does that have to do with me?" Michelle asked as she crossed her arms.
"Your name came up during the course of the investigation, and we are talking to everyone who worked with him," Jo explained.
"What did he do?" Michelle asked.
"He was killed last month," Danny said.
"I'm sorry he died, but I didn't know him," Michelle said.
"You don't remember anything about him?" Jo asked.
"No. When I go into work, I just do my job and don't worry about anyone else," Michelle explained.
"If you think of anything else, just let us know," Danny said as he gave her his card.
"Thank you," Michelle said as Peter let the detectives out.
"Too bad we made him wake her up," Jo quipped as they walked to the car.
"She didn't seem to recognize him," Danny said.
June 5th at the lab-
Jo, Danny, Lindsay, Don, Adam, Sheldon, and Jamie met at the conference room and started talking about the case.
"I know who the killer is," Adam and Don said simultaneously.
All eyes were on them as they stifled their laughter.
A/N: Sorry for the long wait, had major lazy block and didn't feel like fixing up the chapters that are remaining. Blame it on Facebook. LOL
