Now that Embry had apologised and I had forgiven him, I had hoped that Brady and Collin would leave me alone and let me be in peace. I was mistaken because when I came to school on the stormy Tuesday, they were waiting for me right by my locker.

"Shit." I stopped in the hallway and looked for an escape route. I didn't want to deal with them this morning and I needed to find a way out. I looked down the math wing of the school and turned to go and walk down the hall. I was going to avoid them to the best of my ability.

"Chelsey!" I groaned and stopped walking. They spotted me and now I would have no escape route. I had no idea why they wanted to talk to me so much. I forgave Embry, you'd think that it would be the end of that; but apparently not.

"Hey Chels. How's it going? I heard you talked to Embry." I sighed and walked over to my locker, knowing they were following me. I knew they were, I could hear they're loud footsteps.

"I did. I forgave him." I opened my locker and shoved my bag inside and pulling out the books I would need for the morning.

"That's awesome. It really is. So now we just need to get you two to date." I stopped grabbing books and looked at Brady, giving him and incredulous look. What the hell was he talking about?

"Date? I know nothing about him. I'm not going to date him. That's not going to happen. Besides I'm not attracted to him." That was a lie. Even the thought of him made my body go haywire. I got chills when I thought of how deep his voice was. I felt like I was on fire when I thought of his big rough hands anywhere on my body. And that's not even mentioning the way his eyes seemed to follow every movement I made.

"Uh uh. I believe you as much as I believe that Angie will someday fall head over heels in love with Collin." I looked from Brady to Collin. He liked that bitch? He liked her?

"Angie? Really? Collin you could do so much better than Angie. Angie isn't worth your time." Brady smirked and went to say something, but a sharp punch to the shoulder from Collin stopped him.

"That's beside the point. Look, Chelsey…" Brady moved so he was standing in front of me, and looking down at me. He was tall, so was Collin and Embry…he towered over me. Damn men.

"You say you don't know Embry? Then get to know him. He's a great guy and there's a lot to him." I kept grabbing books, turning away from Brady when I felt the sudden rush to say yes. I was scared, I was terrified and I wanted nothing to do with Embry. Only because I knew that I was attracted to him and he made my body feel electrified without even trying.

"I don't know Brady." I finally closed my locker and looked at him, straight on. I was terrified.

"Don't think about it, just say yes." I sighed. I was going to give in. I knew it.

"Fine. I'll get to know him. But I don't know when." Brady grinned widely and stood up straight.

"Great. He'll pick you up after school."

I waited outside the school in my old beat up truck. My hands were shaking and my breathing was wavering. I had fought against a vampire army and I didn't feel an inch of nervousness. But now that I was waiting for her, I felt like I could die of a heart attack.

"Breathe dammit." I frowned and slammed my hand against the steering wheel. I should not be so nervous but I felt like this was my only chance to get close to her.

"Hey Embry! Look who's here!" I rolled down the window and saw Brady grinning at me. He had this stupid puppy like grin on his face. I hated him sometimes.

"Nice to see you again Chelsey." I almost couldn't get the words out. She looked at me and gave me a small smile and I felt like my whole world would collapse if I didn't get to see that smile every day.

"Hello Embry." Even though I could tell she was uncomfortable and unsure of what to do or say next, I could tell that she was slightly at ease in my presence. That was a good sign.

"Well I'm going to go so…" Brady took a step back and I leaned over and opened the door for Chelsey. She looked hesitant to get in, but nonetheless she got into the truck. She pulled her seatbelt on and when she was settled, she turned to me.

"How was school?" I felt stupid for asking. I felt like her father instead of what I wanted to be; her boyfriend.

"School's school. One more year and then I can get a good job and support Kaelynn." I looked over at her briefly, before turning away and pulling away from the parking lot.

"Kaelynn, how old is she?" I felt uncomfortable asking about her daughter, not because of her, but because of who she was with when she had her.

"She's 3." Chelsey got a proud smile on her face when she talked about Kaelynn and I couldn't help but smile too.

"She looks exactly like you." I turned the corner and looked at Chelsey again. Even in jeans and a hoodie, she looked better than anyone else I had ever seen.

"She looks like her father too. There are days when she talks a certain way or does a certain thing and all I can see in her is her father. The bastard." Chelsey didn't say much after that and I tried to think quickly on my feet. I didn't want to have the conversation end just like that. I wanted to hear her speak, I wanted to watch the way she moved.

"You like music?" This was stupid. I felt like a 15 year old trying to get to know his crush. I didn't feel like a 24 year old who was trying to get to know his future.

"Okay can I just say that this is the most awkward thing I have ever done?" She turned in her seat and I could see her fully, out of the corner of my eye. Damn, she was beautiful.

"Sorry. It's been a long time since I've dated or even been interested in dating. I'm pretty rough at it." I took another corner and gripped the steering wheel harder. This was not going as planned.

"Were you born and raised here? Like Brady and Collin?" I looked at her and looked away. I had a messed up home life and I didn't want to talk about it right now.

"We're here."
