A/N: Need to stop confusing this Ryouga with the one from ZEXAL. Which is my fault for picking the same first name. :D

Magby had been released from the Pokemon Centre, and it had decided its new home was with Ryouga.
The first time Ryouga saw him, he had been reading quietly in the shade. He'd ignored the little fire type as it danced about him, begging for attention, and the baby Pokemon had resigned itself to a long wait. He'd fallen asleep by the time Ryouga left.
Ryouga was sure a wild Pokemon should have no trouble within the limits of a populace.
The next time was at school, where the girls spotted Magby first and squealed over it, long enough to find themselves late for class by the time the Magby disentangled itself and fled. But it came back later, when they were doing their extracurricular activities outdoors.
And then it followed him home and tried to sleep under the windowsill without, to Ryouga's knowledge, any dinner. He couldn't, in good conscience, leave it there like that, so he stiffly offered some milk and a more comfortable spot indoors.
It only occurred to him in the morning that he'd carried a Pokemon with the Flame Body ability with no problems, and that ability had not resulted in their house burning down overnight.
But he realised how irresponsible he had been, and how ignorant. He didn't even know if baby Pokemon needed more than milk, if they could eat solids or still needed liquefied food like humans, if indeed human milk was any good for them… And he certainly didn't know any of the safety implications of having a Magby in the house. He knew what to do with wild Pokemon, but that was more or less it. He didn't know what to do with a Pokemon trying to make themselves sick following him.
